1,2,3 battles is insane, yes. But I can't tell you how many people in my guild hit up the guild armoursmith for repairs/replacements after a visit to the DWB/Corvette/Other high level dungeons. ARMOUR decays on impact, yet I don't think the armoursmiths have a hard time staying in business. And I've heard of people paying for old doctor buffs only to return 30 mintues later to get new ones as they died. I don't think THEY complained about having to repay the doctor for the new buffs, so why would people complain about buying new clothing because it decayed beyond use? You wear it into battle with no armour to protect it, you better expect a shirt to get torn to shreds if a rancor got a hold of it!
Moving on from the child, hehe....
I support combat related decay. I do not support wear decay, as it would be hard to say that someone who was able to avoid battles for the most part 'ruined' their clothing by wearing it. As many have said - It's easy to take care of clothing so that it lasts for years and years. As there's no real way to 'care' for clothing in game, this would be a much harder decay to justify in my opinion. And if we can't justify it, it'll just come back to bite us with the customer backlash.
I agree with the fellow that said they need to re-work the subcomponets around. I'd like to see the subcomponents get more logical use out of them: Why doesa bandolier need a cargo pocket, but not the Travel Pack? Why do Sandals need soles but not Dress Slippers? Why does the Low-cut Top take 5 synth cloth but the Flex-Form shirt take 1? There are dozens of others places where logic was kinda suspended (Our local ranger was rather shocked to find out that Winged Hawtpants take more hide to make than her most advanced camp), and at some point, I'd like to see a suggestion go to the devs to make it a bit more logical. I know that the Winged Horr-er Hawtpants are on the Tailoring Top 20, but I'd personally like to see a call for a revamp.
An idea for such a revamp: Maybe give Novice Artisan the Fiberplast Panels and Shoe Soles. On the way up to Dom IV, use the components where needed, and use realistic amounts (2 or 3 panels for dresses, 2 soles for every pair of shoes (not identical)). At Dom IV, either give the Cargo Pocket and Travel Pack, or move the Travel Pack to Novice Tailor and move all sub-compents from the first box of their tree to Novice Tailor. Military Pack can then be moved up to Field Wear I, bumping up the other backpacks a level if needed. Then, the trees can still be listed by their styles as they are now, but now you can easily have schematics throughout the three trees that call for the components in a reasonable manner - Like letting Trim be used in the some of the dresses and skirts in Causal Wear and Cargo Pockets in all the backpacks. Dresses and Bodysuits use up more cloth, and the more revealingskirts/shirts use less than their more covering counterparts. I like the thought of having hide become something of a 'finished' panel before use, but it would add 4 additional things we'd have to make sure to keep stocked up in and I'm not sure how I feel about that.
I support the thought of experimentation on clothing. Iunderstand the reasons not to have it soI'd like to offer a compromise: Have the experimentation tied directly to sockets - If you use poor quality stuff, you won't get as high a number of sockets, but if you use good stuff you canget 4 sockets consistently or maybe even higher if we can get them to raise the cap. Right now, that's what I want to be able to control the most, as I get a lot of requests for 4 sockets and that's normally tied to my BE tissued clothing. I don't have unlimited tissues and I hate the thought of wasting tissues on clothing that might not get 4 sockets. If I fail an experiment, I can live with that. But I hate the randomness of sockets now.
If this makes no sense, pardon me. I've been up for many hours, my brain is dying, but I can't quite leave the computer yet. I think this is the beginning of an addiction - I'll let ya'll know for sure when the fear the thought of leaving passes, hehe.

Edit: Fixing errors.
