I think what Ani-Cul said was very well said in regards to Tailoring. I have been a tailor for almost 2 years now and it has been a joy to see a happy customer leave.

One of the reasons I enjoy Tailor is expressly because I do NOT have to exhaust what little free time I have to play chasing after quality resources. No. I would not like experimentation and needing high stat resources.

Incidentally BH droids work just so you know. One of my toons is a BH so I should know, those that continue to whine just haven't tried..... I've had no trouble finding my target ( I've found the best thing to do is when you take a mission on a player from the terms is to add them to your friends list. Then when you see them come on, remove them and launch the droid )

yes... however if they added an "anonymous" feature (which many crafters have asked for - a way to logon that nobody knows you are online) then your friendslist would become useless because you WOULDN'T know the jedi logged on and wouldn't know when to launch your droid.

(my hubby is an MBH - can ya tell?)

btw... his tactic is actually that when he picks up a mission he has ME friendslist them till they logon LOL.

To exhausted to get on any soap boxes....

  • Decay as worn... make tapes/plates removable... SEA's are NOT our concern (yes I have a crafting outfit).

  • I would despise experimenting...for those of us here since launch... we had it once, remember? It was useless, it sucked. I will NOT hunt resources for a profession. If I hunt, it will be to sell those resources.

  • If I wanted to Experiment or Horde resources, I'd be an AS...(at least they have RED boots)

Why do we have to always be punished for crappy game dynamics? Make clothing decay on use... make SEA's reusable and for goodness sakes...Make the garments unusable at 0/0 or 1/1 or 0/1..whichever it is today.

Heh, suppose I found a soapbox that wasn't so hard to climb up on.. let me get down now.

*cheers*

CLothing decay should work for all, on a slow basis, perhaps a little faster in combat. Most players get into *some* combat once in a while (I was incapped at my house last night by Shaupauts... you gonna tell me they didnt rip my skirt?).
omeone mentioned they have clothing from a decade ago - what about the time passage in swg? (yeah, I know, I am picking nits - lol)

anyway - we want decay; we know this. And seems most of us agree that it needs to be approached carefully. I for one would not mind waiting longer before it goes into effect.

No not everyone wants decay which is clear from this thread. You and NJ want decay a few others. Most don't seem to mind combat decay. Wear decay is the issue.

Believe me crafters are not going to want that, because after the CU all those experiment tapes will easily cost twice what they do now ( well except for tailor and armorsmith ones which will be greatly useless ). And ADKs are to expensive, and you only get one per account meaning it would be hard to protect them. Plus not all crafters have ridicoulsly overcharged the uninformed and thus don't have millions of credits ( I'd say that the number with less than 5 million greatly outweighs those that have 50 million or more ).

Entertainers aren't going to want wear decay either. Heck I know entertainers who buy new clothes almost weekly. Some I've never seen wearing same thing. They are those that have factories just full of clothes. However if you make it so that they have wear decay you'll hurt some of the neat effects I've seen, like the rainbow hued macros where they change clothes which are really neat. THey change them so quickly that given any wear decay they'd ruin the clothes probably in just an hour or two.

Combat decay and then decay when folks clone should give us a lot more business .

It is pretty clear that most tailors don't want to worry about resources and experimentation. Just so no one worries nothing has been proposed or anything like that. I just wanted to make sure that what the community wanted hadn't changed or anything. It looked like a good time to ask for experimentation *if* that is what people wanted, but it is clear that the folks who want experimentation back are a minority.

Calmez-vous....

Skirts, hats, jackets/vests and robes..... that's it.Nothing else decays in combat. Pants, shirts, gloves, belts, bandoliers, boots, shoes, jewelry, and anything else... are safe. Only cloning causes an issue. So feel free to place expensive tapes in these items. Skirts have an issue with tapes anyway, and most people prefer helmets and chest armour to clothing items (by and large) so the majority of our clothes are going to be "business as usual" for quite awhile.

Considering all the work that needs to be done in every profession and overall systems, I do not see clothing decay to be addressed for a very long time. My BE sales are mostly with shirts, bandoliers and pants. Lots of jackets for maskscent/taming, as that was a great combo. I will see lots of sales still, but I'll hold off on my warehouse of tissues until they fix the mods. With the 0-condition bug, for now, no one will care that they decay that much faster.

My guess... the devs will fix it, and either reset every item of clothes to 100% condition, or allow perfect repair of any condition clothing for a few days to allow people to repair things. Maybe a one time repair on clothes, like when they changed non-ch pets to be a maximum of level 10.

Oh, and initial reports on the repairing of clothes. 20 repairs. 3 successes (950/950), 15reduced condition (800/800), and 2 complete failures. This was for a master tailor.

Weird. Can you give more details? I have tried fighting in a skirt and I couldn't get my clothing to decay at all. Were you wearing all clothing, or a mix of clothing and armor? Were you taking ranged damage or melee damage? What was your outfit and what were you fighting?

Yeah, those greedy doctors trying to charge you for buffs every three hours. They're so selfish. Buffs should last forever so you never have to pay those greedy doctors again.
