eeeeww Troll mess.
Ahh ... it's troll season again I see. How quickly time passes in the world of SWG.
Remember folks ... don't feed the troll - it only makes in hang around the place (and then you have all that troll mess to clean up off the floor).
Cheers,

I hate to be the one who tells you this, but tailors are NOT needed in this game, clothing for the most part is useless and when the FRS comes out the jedi Robes that will be more useful then sea's that decay. And Jedi robes do not decay, Armorsmiths are needed and people can wear there armor without needing clothing.
Apart from my complete disregard for what jedi may wear or not wear (Afterall, most jedi have an alt that will need clothing) any combat character that skips BE clothing is seriously gimping himself. You can fight without armour, and you can heal without a healing effeciency shirt. I'd never do it though.
Just for emphasis; Jedi is still not the end-all of the tailor market. Jedi is still not the primary source of our income. Quite frankly, I couldn't care less.
If Clothing goes to 0 and people loses there skill tapes, Tailors will get the brunt of hate, and eventually the devs will cave just like they did with XP, this is a very touchy issue, and I would think tailors rather try to come up with a solution that both sides can live with, while I do not need tailors as a jedi...
Again; Jedi is still not the end-all of the clothing market, and whether or the glowstick wielders chose to wear their fancy PJ's or clothing made by us is not something that makes-or-breaks the profession.
... or have any use for them as "Fashion" in a video game to me is retarded,
Each to their own. SWG is rather unique (although a few upcoming titles wye to share the spot) when it comes to attracted people to different things besides just getting the most experience, the uberest l3wt or the most maximized characters.
This "0" condition change and people lose there CA's, will send buisness to AS's and tailors will lose buisness, I dont mind wearing my undecayable boxers.
To pharaprase what I'm sure I said a page back or so (Or maybe it was in the thread about the same thing in the jedi forums? Not sure), the majority of our sales are not done to people with 10+ mil SEA's. The average player is still going to end up coming back more often than he would with eternally lasting clothing, even if ADK's are your only option to keep the effects of the CA's. We will not lose business if clothing decay was added because of CA's.
(And I don't believe people will give up CA's for a second. A suit of armour has a maximum of 28 slots. A full suit of four socket clothing adds another 12 slots. The extra slots are too big an increase to disregard completely, and that's BE clothing aside)

Coming to the tailor forum and telling tailors that they are useless and that they had better jump in and support what you want so that they become useful and survive is *not* likely to help your case. All it will do is make the combat/non-combat divide even deeper.
And where in my post did I say anything about " Tailors had better jump in and support my position" no where, so dont put words in my mouth. And for the record, Tailors are useless, and will most likely remain one of the useless crafting professions in the game. If you cannot handle the truth I suggest you cancel your account until you can handle the truth.
As for the trolling comment, whatever, I posted facts and constructive suggestions. The responses that was made is what are considered trolls.
the whole thread is a non topic rumor anyways, the devs will not change the way clothing is, they may give you a new dress to sew to keep you happy though.
Maybe it's just me, but telling us all that we're useless doesn't seem very constructive.

/agreed I'll bite my tongue and not respond to that post.

I totally disagree. This attitude "I gotta have this last forever cause I spent so much" is old. Not the way the game was intended to be played. There has to be a way to filter out the old and in with the new, just like armor, weapons, clothing, ca's you name it. Besides there are clothing repair kits that have beenin game since day one. Had they been used as inteded this wouldn't even be an issue, but due to this long standing bug it didn't happen. They weren't meant to last forever!
Tailors have been screwed way too looooong, with no new clothing in site due to the complexity of avatars and movement, and no decay. Its past time for this issue to be put to rest. Lose a CA.... go out and hunt for another. Live with it and move on.

I've had a change of heart; I've seen the light. Jedi be praised.
Until I studied the words of our great protector and benefactor I was lost in the wilderness. I had no idea that my enjoyment was an illusory state, nor that my customers were imaginery and my bank balance insignificant. I thought I was happy serving the people who visit my shop day, after day, after day for Grand Ball Gowns, Hawtpants, Bustiers and Noble's Crests. How foolish I was.
I now realise the error of my ways and see that I am but a small piece of durni excrement on the boot of those who are more worthy. For I am a tailor ... the lowest of the low.
But I can be saved and so can you. Heed the words of the all powerful jedi. Renounce your crafting tools, abandon your shops and come into the light.
It's not too late.

KRAKEN666 wrote:How about campaigning for the ability to unslice or disassemble clothes to retrieve the ca's in them. you would make a fortune doing this. just as smugglers slice weapons, you could unslice clothes to retreive the ca's so they are not wasted. Alot of people would pay good money to get a plus 25 ca back.
While "unslicing" clothes would be cool I think that there are too many items in SWG that DON'T decay after time, Clothes + CA's being on that list. Zero condition clothes should no longer be wearable and zero condition clothes with stats should no longer function.
