It's still being "looked into" - and I have absolutely nothing else. I will elbow a little more tomorrow (right now I'm trying to get an official correction on the 4 socket engineering 4 information.)

Thank you for letting us know. It's just so frustrating.. making no BE Clothes and no Loot items.. is getting really old, quick.. still have to pay for stuff.. just no income.

Right about now I wish I had focused on regular clothing sales.

Odd thing I have noticed the last few days. As I was restocking my March vendor sales in dribs and drabs while setting up factory runs of components (which thankfully have no sockets to worry about):

The first couple of items I made when I first opened my crafting tool - I got 4 sockets. After that it was very random. Most of my sales are from the Tailor tree of products.

To combat the possiblity of customers getting insistent that I provide 4 sockets (which has happened only once in my career), I sent a mail out to all my customers and have made myself a little warning reply macro to respond to anyone who /tells me for a clothing order. Just as an FYI that sockets are bugged and have no bearing on the quality. So far everyone has been very understanding.

My resources are middle to above average OQ and DR - got into the habit when there was a rumor about possibly adding usage decay to clothing (which I endorse over the death decay) - but I agree that it is difficult to tell if quality matters on the sockets.

This issue really bugs me. Last night I crafted a Wookie sages hood. Dropped in 4 of my best synth cloths. to get a +25/+25 Medic +25/+25 C/H.

ALAS! ZERO sockets.

Ok, well today I got a direct question about socketing from one of them red folks. Unfortunately, it was a basic question on "nuts and bolts". It's a little disheartening that a basic question is asked 1 week later, rather than when the issue cropped up, but hey, at least they're paying attention. Uh, and that's all I can say. I answered the question asap, but I think it's already leave-work-time in Sony-land (mental note: no more going to classes!). Fortunately other tailoring folks (bless other corres who tailor) had put in some input before I got a chance to read and respond.

More testing tonight, probably leading to nothing... again, but I'll report back when I can.

And then, lest they forget, I asked if it was a bug or a design choice in big bold letters!!! And stressed that we need to know which it is for the top 5 report.

Disheartening?

NJ, how many times did you have to ask them before they bothered to respond back?

From what I read, it was far more than should even be expected from a correspondant.

This is my point.

Would it kill the devs to show a little appreciation for all the hard work our current correspondant is doing, and for the many threads upon threads worth of feedback the community is tirelessly providing, instead of just getting around to it when they feel like it?

This lackadaisical behaivior on their part is truly a slap in the face to all of us.

That's not a flame. That's the sad, frustrating truth of this entire situation.

NJ actually got an I'll look into it pretty quickly. There are four Tailors among the correspondents right now so NJ gets good support, not that she needs us It's hard as a correspondent b/c you can't always share info you're getting right away. And understandably the devs want to be sure they have a firm grasp on a bug/issue before deciding if it ISa bug/issue and whether or not itwill getfixed/tweaked (speaking generally now).NJ works her butt off for us Tailors, and in turn Thunderheart works his butt off for over 30 correspondents, including NJ I wish each of my professions had a Thunderheart and dev all to itself hehe. Most importantly of all, don't forget that we're fortunate we're being asked for our input and wants at all, it's a rare game that not only listens to but also actively responds to their community. We don't always get what we want, but we get a whole lot more of what we want than other gamers

It's true that they're looking into it. Keep in mind too, that we've been playing and dealing with it over the weekend, while the devs are obviously at home with their families - so our sense of time is a little skewed considering that some of us play more on the weekends, while in contrast the devs aren't around.

I'll see what crops up tomorrow.

Our correspondant and this communitydeserves more than a fleeting 'looking in to it' a week after the fact, for crying out loud.

It's hard as a correspondent b/c you can't always share info you're getting right away.

It harder being dependant ona correspondantwho has to deal with a team of peoplewho don't feel you are important enough to take five minutes out of the day when something brakes that has such a strong impact on said community [sockets] totell our correspondant,'Hey, we hear you guys that it's broke. We're checking it out."How many more months are we expected to be patient? It has been literally months since we have had any news about anything broke.

And understandably the devs want to be sure they have a firm grasp on a bug/issue before deciding if it ISa bug/issue and whether or not itwill getfixed/tweaked (speaking generally now).

Again. It has been months since any dev has given us a progress report of any kind.

Most importantly of all, don't forget that we're fortunate we're being asked for our input and wants at all, it's a rare game that not only listens to but also actively responds to their community.

It's also a rare game that charges 15 bucks a month. The 'player feedback' is little more than a customer retention tool.

We don't always get what we want, but we get a whole lot more of what we want than other gamers

What exactly have we gotten that we have been asking for?

Chef garb? Wookie componant?

I don't remember seeing the forum asking for these things, or feeling they weremore important than our top five in any way. So far, the small things that are important to us have been completely overlooked. We have severe issues that NEED to be dealt with, instead they give us wookie pillows and chef garb. Where are the priorities?

My whole point is this:

If this was a game where the devsdidn't insinuate that we'd actually get 'something'for our efforts of providing all this input day after day, there would be nothing to say about this. But that is not the case.

  • we are asked for ourTop Fives

  • we are asked for information to upgrade the holocron to help the whole of the game

  • we are asked to perform trial and error on items that are broke to see if we, the paying customers, can find out what's wrong with it

  • and we do all this because it is implied that they will actually *do* something about it.

Akaara wrote: Socketed clothing 'bug' Is this a bug or intended new feature? Why was it changed? Why didn't anyone tell us it would be changed? Why is there such a lack of communication about what is going on?

Akaara, what has happened is that when we put Wookiee armor in the game, we had to re-write some code so everything worked properly. The new batch of code fixes some unresolved issues, so in effect, what's happened is the level of difficulty in sockets wasn't working properly before and now it is. We should have been more clear on the patch notes. For that, I apologize. What I have been doing over the last few days is trying to verify the details and also to find out if the ability to get 4 sockets increases as you get closer to being (or are) a master. I want to make sure that since it's changed, that it works similarly to critical fails (except in reverse ). As a tailor climbs up the tree, their chance to get 4 sockets also increases.

So I guess there's our answer. It is indeed intended and we were always "broken." So now the devs are scrambling to stop the sound of a thousand voices crying out in terror (and then not quieting down again). It's nice how they throw this out to the masses w/out a word to our dilligent correspondent even.

My question is after all the testing that's been done, posted on this board and sent directly to the devs by NJ, how in hell can they NOT know that being a master currently has no effect on a dang freaking thing??? How many days of "verifying" does it take? And goodness knows when we'll see their little "fix" go in once they've made the decision. /sigh

Guess it's just one more reason to love SOE /sarcasm off

Here's the link BTW but TH doesn't say anything more on the topic:
