Wow. Things must be pretty different on Lowca than other servers. Every tailor I have ever asked has been excited to train novices. I have even had long conversations with some master tailors afterward with advice on what to sell, good locations to set up, etc. One even gave me some enhanced cloth and refused to let me pay for it. Of course, one thing I have noticed is that there are not very many tailors (at least that keep their tailoring flag on). No matter where I am, most of the time when I search there is only me. In my town (which is a fairly large town), I have found only two master tailors, but one of them seems to be devoted to supplying a PA. Strangely, I find almost no novice tailors at all. Except for me, I have met just one other. I talked to another character this morning who has Domestic IV and wants to become a tailor, but pretty much everyone else who bothers becoming a tailor is already a master.

Anyway, I did not realize that there was so much animosity towards novices.

I am on Lowca too and have never met someone who was rude to me when after training. All I ask for is a bow and a thank you. Perhaps people are a bit more chilled out in our galaxy, I don't know...

Hey, I'm american too, but *some* of us were brought up right, and know how to be polite.

I generaly won't refuse to train anyone, but then most people who have approached me have done so politely. I've gotten the AXP I need for all my masters, so it's no longer an issue.

There's another tailor on my server, who I trained several times. She still comes back and asks questions now and then, which I'm usualy glad to answer for her. In return, she's made it a policy not to undercut my prices when we both post on the bazar. This is what SHOULD be common curtosy, but is sadly lacking these days.

I'll give free training to any tailors on Bria. There's only two conditions. You'd have to travel to me (Theed, Naboo) though it's cheaper than paying for the skills. And I expect people to be nice. Not that bad as conditions go. I can train most merchant skills too.

See, I've had exactly the opposite problem on Lowca. I paid for all but three of my skills. The first time I asked for training (Hi, I'm sure you're really busy, but if you have a moment could you possibly train me in *insert skill here*, please? Thanks!), the Master was incredibly nice, and I tipped her everything I had. The second time, I was presented with a Tailor who was probably busy, and that's why she was so brusque. The third time, when I tried to get casual 1? "Downright rude" doesn't even begin to compare. I'd also add the words "surly," "hateful," and "genuinely evil."

It's been my experience that you get what you give. If I'm polite to people, they tend to be polite to me too.

Here's a tip: Master ID doesn't take a lot of skillpoints. Argue about the
time it takes to stat migrate, and I'll introduce you to where all my other

Actually, you are one of the people I posted about! You have been very helpful several times in the past and always extremely nice. By the way, my tailor on Lowca is Momoko. I recently moved her from Corellia to Naboo because I was tired of dying every time I checked my harvesters.

Nalinya and I go way back... I think we made Novice Tailor on the same day, even. Two days later, I took off for nearly 2 months of vacation. I think we only connected once for her to help me learn a skill... tried on about 4 or 5 of my skill boxes along the way, but the timing just wasn't right. In no way did this every earn Nalinya any sort of ingratitude or disrespect on my part.

She's both a charm and a brilliant tailor. (I think my prices are actually higher than hers, too.) And she continues to surprise me with brilliant ideas in game. Good for her!

It's regrettable that she has experienced such a large mass of ill-mannered folk. I've run into only a few... and they go on my ignore list and the ban for the house. I don't tolerate them at all... which is probably why I've had fewer experiences... she's nicer than I am.

Way to go, Nalinya. You do whatever it takes to not interfer with business.
