Brutus,

I so want to trade schematics with you. I can provide the materials. I know I will need factory crates of all the items to make it work but I can get them. My materials won't be a good as yours but I know for a fact that most people buying armor don't know or care about the quality. Trade me my schematic for a schematic of ubese chest pieces and I will be one happy tailor. I bet I can sell all the pieces on the bazaar for 3K in less than an hour. That would more than make up for the credits I lose by not selling the crates.

I hope you are on Corbantis.

I do not sell or give away schematics ... ever.

I run two businesses as a tailor. I supply my guild armorers with the materials they need, at cost to me to make them.

For non-guild armorers or anyone wanting factory crate panels, I sell it at a decent rate. Unfortunately I don't always charge some of the outrageous amounts it seems everyone else is selling things for.

One problem I perceive, especially on SS is that things are TOO expensive. Regularly I see things marked up for 2000% or even 5000% of cost, talk about gouging the customers. I don't even sell to the public that often, and when I do it is rare.

If a non-guild member armorer wants a contract with me to make panels for them I will do it for a fixed rate. And if there is a guaranteed amount to be made I'll fix a long term cost. If they want to provide the materials to make the items, then the price will be even less.

AWESOME POST BRUTUS!!!!!

I didn't think some of the Tailors understand how specific our materials are. Lokian Leathery Hide, creatures aren't too tough to get them from. But a round trip ticket from Tatooine is 3300 credits.

I would LOVE to have a steady Tailor working for me. I don't mind paying for the panels. When i started making Mabori Armor, I bought 10 crates of 25 off of Anro for 18,000 credits.

I have a couple of Tailors helping me near Mos Espa (where I'm based), I'll buy Synth Cloth schematics from them (cuz they don't have the 40,000 credits for a factory) and I gave them full suits of Mabori as a tip.

I don't have the Points available to become a skilled Tailor, so I could care less if I got a million XP for making from a schematic. I WANT to see you tailors get the xp, nothing would make me happier to see all of you as Master Tailors. I just wanted a schematic because the TailorsI talked to were busy filling orders for other people (you all know how long it takes a factory also to produce 100 units), so I figured they could make a quick 2000 credits (thats what I offered) for doing nothing and still filling there current order. I didn't ask for it to phase you guys out. My factory is sitting idle doing nothing.

If someone wants to work out an arrangement to provide me with Reinforced Fiberplast please send me a tell (you have to be on Tatooine though).

Also, for the person who said something about trading armor schematics - GREAT, HAVE ALL YOU WANT!!!! But you need all the same material in the schematic, which means:

Factory Crates of Fiberplast Panels

Factory Crates of Armor Segments

Factory Crates of Reinforced Fiberplast panels

Sorry for the long post.

Dragonian,

You underestimate the power of ewokkillah. Yes I have all the resources that you mentioned. I have all the factory crates that I need. I realize I could only run about 10 chests in there. And notice I asked for ubese and not chiten which I happen to know doesn't really work in a factory. You see I am in a partnership with another armorsmith and we have all those materials. I would provide them and the armorsmith could make the schematic from that. I still think that I would come out ahead trading schematics and I just mentioned selling them on the bazaar to illustrate my point. I know I could get a lot more for a ubese chest than 3K. Much more.

My offer stands. I will gladly trade my schematic for an ubese chest any day. I wish someone would take me up on my offer.

Are you on Corbantis? If so, let'stalk.

If anyone is on Starsider - Buy crates of Reinforced Fiberplast from Anro. I paid 3000 per crate of 25. I feel that is an extremely fair deal.

Ok, i didn't see this one when i read it the first time. But it cracks me up. Lets take a schematic i know first as an example. A schematics for Chitin Chest Plates.

For a 100 count, you will need - 10000 Bone, 4000 Leathery Hide, 4000 Ferrous Metal, 4000 Scaley Hide, 2800 Fiberplast, 2000 Polymer, 2000 Wooly Hide, 700 Metal, & 500 Inert Petrochemical. You have all this, right?
Now before you can run your schematic, you need to do a few things first. You need 4 100count Chitin Armor Segment schematics. You'll also need a 100cound Fiberplast Panel schematic and a 100count Reinforced Fiberplast Panel schematic.

Run the two you can make first, the FP and RFP schematics. Then run all 4 of the CAS schematics.

Ready for some fun? Alright, now unload your input hopper completely and load the CBP schematic. List the ingredients. Load the input hopper with the components in the EXACT order they are listed. Do this anyother way and it will eat material and segments and give you an ulcer. You still with me?

Here's the kicker. You're only going to be able to run 10 CBPs at a time because of the input hopper only having 100 slots.

I don't mean to be sarcastic, but do you see the point? The two schematics are completely different in both the resourses required and the shear complexity of execution. The schematic for the Chitin Armor Segments is probably worth about as much as the Reinforced Fiberplast Panel schematic, but not the schematic for the Chitin Breast Plate.

I'm an armorsmith and I can't really fathom actually trying to execute a 100count schematic for the final assembly of armor. It's just kinda insane in my opinion.

I agree, schematics should not be sold.

This thread should be renamed to "Petition for Tailors to boycott the selling of schematics"

Hmm. I sold a 50ct RFP schematic last nite to someone for 1cr. I'd just gotten FWII and this was the first time I'd made 'em. She gave me the materials and I made a few expiermenting them best I could. Only had 2 points and each point was a 34% failure chance! Got it up to 16% Durability though. Put it on my Vendor for her for 1cr and kinda hoped/expected for a tip or offer to use her factory, but nope. <shrug>

Guess I won't be selling anymore of them, mostly based upon the attitude of the armorsmiths in this thread. <shrug>

You know why we don't.. because your 'crates' of product are over-priced and we do not to your surprise make a killing on selling armor..

ya, that's right.

after reading the attitudes of the tailors now i understand why as an armorsmith no one is willing to sell me a schematic...

FINE

I'll move some skill points over for a week and make my own **edit** schematics... store them for a few months and just NOT have to deal with you folks.

what a crappy attitude some of you have. One way or another, i will not pay 7500cr for a box of 25 re-inforced fiber panels (300cr each) when the production costs of them are WAY less than that!

25% of the cost for a suite of armor now is due to the FABRIC I have to buy with comprises of less than 1% of material needed to produce armor. I can cut my costs down way low and in turn, lower my prices and make money by producing the crates of fabric myself.

If the Tailors did not gouge us on the fabs, i would have continued to purchase them... but 200-300cr per sheet is TOO **edit** MUCH when it takes 10 to make a suite with a 10% loss do to critical failures.. it sucks.

You do realize that everytime you run out of the right resource you'll need a new schematic? So unless you want to keep those tailoring skills permanently, you'll end up dealing with tailors occassionally.

I sell my reinforced fiber for 4k per crate, personally. Though there aren't too manyarmorcrafters (or tailors)on Rori.

Not only that, but as was reported in a pervious thread, the better the durabiility on a panel, the better amor it actually makes. Be prepared to learn your way up to MASTER, because otherswise your competaator who gets poanels from a master is going to have better armor than you have, It might not matter now, but in 30 days when EVERYONE is selling the high end armor, small differences WILL matter.

You can already see it in pistols. I won't buy a FWG5 with less than 140 damage and a speed of 2.1 unsliced .
