Thread: Factories? Tailors using them or not?

After further experimentation, I think Velveeta's still correct. As far as I can tell, the factory *pretends* to like crates, but then makes any run involving a crate automatically fail....

ARRRGH!!!! This thing is infuriating me!!! Does this happen to anybody else, repeatedly producing zero items despite everything being triple-checked and plenty of energy and plenty of money and plenty of ingredients?

Any tips on reliably getting a factory to actually do what it's supposed to?????

Are you using factory crates? Factories are very picky with using those.

Otherwise your factory could be bugged and the only advice I can give is redeed it and replace it.

No, crates not involved... Latest theory is that it's something with schematics maybe. I haven't been able to destroy schematics, but now they're disappearing when I logout and log back in. So maybe it's trying to use some half-destroyed schematic or something....

I have the problem with destroyed schematics not disappearing till I log - or take a shuttle I think. I try to name every single one different so I know which is which. As far as I know, I have yet to put one of these in a factory.

Schematics don't seem to have anything to do with it. Is there some incantation or magic order you need to do things in to get a factory to execute correctly? Like you must put the precise exact number of ingredients in, not one unit less or more? Or that you must put in ingredients before the schematic, or vice versa, or that you must insert ingedients in the exact order specified on the schematic??

DAMMITTTT!!!!!

Sorry, I'm getting incredibly frustrated after 3 fruitless hours of trying to get my factory to do something, anything. Getting ready to give up and put SWG away for like 3 months now....

A decent size rant following a dev post suggests that EXACT amounts of ingredients may improve your chances. Have a calculator handy?

As far as I know there is no magic formula. I usually put the schematic in first, then the ingredients, then power and maintenance and then start it. ALways works for me but there shouldn't be some sort of order. Are there any schematics currently in your schematic hopper?

Putting in the exact required specified ingredients, not a unit more or less, for a schematic of 25 units of synth cloth was precisely as useful as every other **edit** thing I've tried tonight, which is to say 100% not.

Mine have gotten very tempremental right now also. Did they manage to break them again somehow? After I got dumped a little bit ago the client downloaded something when I tried to get back on.

Ah I made Field Wear III today.

So now the Spec-Ops dusters are staring in my face saying, 'Aere, you know you need a factory, right?'. I'm nodding while trying not to sob. The PA architect made me a factory, I am gleeful. On his way to bring it to me, he gets ghosted, and can't log in until tomorrow. This makes me sad.

If they're bugged like that, I might not even put the factory down, but I'm drooling over how much money I can make going into the center of town and doing a /shout Spec-Ops dusters for sale!

Ahh yes.

I ended up having to redeed mine and they work fine now. What happened is right after putting some schematics in my factory I had a CTD and when I got back in the schematics where not in the factory and not on my data pad. Some how they corrupted the factory I think.
