Thread: Factories? Tailors using them or not?
Enlighten a novice tailor. Do I need an equipment factory or a wearables factory to make synthetic cloth?
(I know. Sounds like a stupid question, but if the equipment factory is required, I have to wait for my Novice Architect friend to advance to Installations 1.)
TIA

It's a wearables factory, Harske.

Money, power, manufacturing schematic, and ingredients that match said schematic. If you have all of these insertedyou should then be able to turn it on.
You can make stuff with subcomponents, but:
1. Each one must have the same serial number (i.e., same crate/factory run) AND
2. The serial number must *also* be the same as the one used to create the schematic.
I was trying to do a run of Smocks, and couldn't figure out why it didn't work until I realized this principle. What I had done is created the schematic based on handmade cloth and metal fasteners, so the crated items I made later didn't work.
So if you want to do a factory run of
DEVS, please let us load CRATES into factories as ingredients!
Actually, come to think of it, my factory "burned" one piece of cloth from the crate, apparently in the attempt to make the first Smock. (Then, I guess, it choked on the unacceptable Metal Fasteners, and stopped.)
Now we just need to be able to double click a crate while crafting to take the item out, rather than having to take them out in our inventory first
They just fixed the facotries.
Got mine up and running...see Blodie on Starsider if you need to buy crates of cloth. I did that at first and it worked, since most of the items I sold from those panels were high profit items. Would be happy to help supply someone who doesn't want the responsibility of running a factory.
And they take alot of energy, I notice....
And there's no feedback whatsoever - like maybe howzabout a little check *before* you run the friggin thing that it's got the right ingredients???
