So this is the way it was intended since launch. Hrmm...Using master tailor, 125 assembly, and on 30 combines of the same item, I get 2 with 4 sockets. Resource quality made no difference that I was able to notice (used all the same materials except switched fiberplast from 100ish oq to 900+oq halfway through.
What makes me really happy...
1) countless threads,
2) scores of petitions,
3) pages dennouncing the crafting changes in the "In Live" forum post,
4) so much outcry over crafting changes that they rescind them,
-and still-
the devs feel the need to pick and pick and pick away at the crafting professions.
Here's an idea, fix what goes *IN* the dadblasted sockets before nerfing sockets altogether, hrmm?

1) I want socketing to be in our top 5
a) yes - but most of our top 5 are from launch. I'd like to see these finally answered and new top 5 used
2) I want socketing to be put back the way it was
a) yes - clothing was always seen as "optional" by the majority of players and now it has even less value
3) If reinstating the old system is not an option (the likely scenario)
I want resource quality alone to affect sockets
b) no - clothing has little profit now, this will cause us far more strain to obtain "quality" resources
I want experimentation & resource quality to affect sockets
b) no - doing every item by hand is time-consuming enough, don't make our work even harder
I want to keep it random
a) yes - but make a Master Tailor average at LEAST 3 sockets
4) I would like use-based clothing decay to be implemented
a) yes - equipped clothes should decay, and inventory items should NEVER decay unless worn. Having every single item in inventory decay on death is hurting people from acrrying around extra clothing. Also allow decay to be repaired at better chances, so that at x/1000 you have a better chance to repair an item than at x/500
5) I would like to be able to affect the overall durability of an item
a) yes - if durability loss was no longer a percentage loss. 5% of 1000 and 5% of 10,000 is the same rate of loss
I want resource quality alone to affect overall durability
b) no - see above for resource hunting pains
I want experimentation & resource quality to affect overall durability
b) no - as above
I don't want the durability of new items to ever be lower than 1000
b)yes - I would not like to see less than 1000, as non-masters could get lower than 1000, but that is excessively punitive

This is the stupidest nerf ever. The people who want the 4 sockets will just make us make things over and over to get them, and nobody else cares anyway. So really the only thing that changes is that we are now subjected to making things over and over to get four sockets. And plus, people who will never have four skill tapes to put in a shirt still want shirts with 4 sockets because they're better, and they'll complain to us about not getting them.
