no
I'd support changes that give us some active role in crafting other than color selection. If the dev's feel there's some compelling reason to decrease the # of sockets (why I can't comprehend) then it should be done through some form of quality of resource or experimentation system not just a nerfed dice roll.

Please, please, please, please, please, please DO NOT make tailors into AS's....I like having the idea of a few items (ie wookie segs) being tied to resource quality and experimentation - but to start be forced to pay 20+ cpu for good hides JUST so that I can get a good number or sockets or quality inEVERY clothing item is a PAIN IN THE ASS!
This will end the ability of Tailors to keep their vendors stocked, who the hell wants to hand-make (for colors) and experiment EVERY single item you make! It is bad enough getting enough cruddy hides to make all the clothes, but this change could potentially force us to compete with AS's for good hides -- and Tailors DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY!
I vote to place a new system in, where a master still has a random socket chance but more weighted like so: 4 sockets (50%) 3 sockets (33%) 2 sockets (10%), 1 socket (5-7%) and NEVER 0 sockets at Master.

1- No
2- No
3- Experimentation and Resources
4- Yes
5- Experimentation and Resources
*edit* oh yeah! if we get this experimentation in place could we PLEASE get it so that master artisans or tailors can craft clothing dye kits? this way it would allow us to do a factory run of clothings and then re color them later. Perhaps this would be crafted by even a master tailor and usable by only tailors?

I'll make this simple - put it to hell back the way it was before the 'fix'.
A master tailor should NOT get 4 sockets 5% of the time from 95%.
This is little thing from the devs end - it's NOT a little thing from a working tailors end. I've put up with a lot since release, screw with the perception of quality of my goods I'm liable to see if I can get into the WoW beta.

And I agree 100% with what Ipema says above there. If I wanted to be an expert miner, hide purchaser and research scientist, as well as merchant/banker, and spend the majority of my time fiddling with arithmetic, I'd have chosen to be a weaponsmith or armorsmith. I chose tailor because it was casual player friendly, easier... and fun. Please stop making it not fun.

Personally, mindless redos to get 4 sockets is not my idea of fun.
Ditto!
1) I want socketing to be in our top 5
b) no
2) I want socketing to be put back the way it was
a) yes
3) If reinstating the old system is not an option (the likely scenario)
I would prefer experience & experimentation be the determining factors
4) I would like use-based clothing decay to be implemented
a) yes
5) I would like to be able to affect the overall durability of an item
Moot point unless current decay system is changed
We are already one of (if not the) least appreciated/paid crafting professions. Having to redo items for max sockets AND compete for quality hides will actually make me start thinking of dropping tailor. Considering I've been on this path since launch and everything that hasn't/has happned to us since then, that's saying quite a bit.
