I can't beleive this is not popular! I am a human male and this with a pair of uniform boots and long uniform gloves is my favorite outfit. And trust me, once it's all put together you can not see ANY skin. I have even had compliments on it, so there must be people out there willing to buy it but also not sure why it cuts off at the knees. Anyway I suggest all you master tailors make a set and see for yourselves

Oh, my ghod, which to start with - the total lapses of taste on Sony's part, or the total lapses of taste on the customers?

Let's bust on Sony first, it's more fun. And let's not even start on wookiee gear,belts, bandoliers, or jewelry, because that's too easy.

1. Large Headwraps: I've sold two. Both people asked for their money back. A big turban sounds good, but for some weird reason or other (even I can't figure it out) it looks awful on everybody.


2. Reinforced Pants: I assure you that nobody in this game, of either gender, is going to wear tight pants with knee pads; the incoming verbal abuse would never end.


3. Desert Crawlers: I've never sold a pair. I've seen a total of three people (other than newb female entertainers) wearing them. At most one of them looked OK in it.


4. Crested Vest: OK, I give up, what is this thing supposed to look like?


5. Reinforced Pullover: Same question?


6. Decorative Skirt: Every dancer in this game wants an above-the-knee skirt. Then they find out how bloated this one is in the hips.


7. Tight Vest: Presumably there must be someone in the universe who asked to be made to look like a medieval peasant who's gotten too fat for their clothes and is consequentially wearing an antique-looking sausage skin that's bursting at the buttons. Presumably that person is a sexual submissive.


8. Sneakers: Why do they call these sneakers, is it because they "snuck" in from Everquest? No, wait, I suddenly understand: they're supposed to be green/brown and paired with matching Infiltrator Leggings, the Flared Cuff Shirt,and the Tight Vest, to complete the "merry men" look. ("We're men! We're men in tights!")


9. Short Skirt and Short Wrap: I know that George Lucas made American Grafitti, but that doesn't mean that we have to offer scooter shorts, does it? And if it does mean that we have to have them, could we at least hope for the skirt to fit, and wrap all the way around in front?


10. Pantaloons: To my vast surprise, I've actually sold one pair. I wondered at the time why she didn't ask for the rest of the jockey's silks.


11. Decorative Headdress: Is it actually possible to look at someone wearing this and not giggle?

Now, the customers' lapses in taste:

1. Maiden's Dress and Loose Dress: I'm sorry, but I happen to think that with well chosen colors, these are the two best looking dresses in the game. I can't push Maiden's Dresses for love or money, and have sold a total of one Loose Dress since I started. And to my thinly disguised annoyance, the customer for the Loose Dress wanted the blouse and the skirt to be the exact same color, hiding the lovely ribbon trim at the neckline. She also wanted it as a gift for someone else. I've given several away as gifts, myself. Nobody has ever worn it again after the first evening. Why?


2. Casual Jacket: Snobbery, that's what it is. This is a perfectly functional biker jacket, the closest thing to a biker jacket in the game, and everybody turns their nose up at it because Artisans can make it.


3. Two-Strap Bandolier: Both sides get blamed for this: Sony for making it float out in space like electron orbitals and for tinting it pink, and customers for being willing to wear it anyway.


4. Dress Uniform Jacket: To my eye, this competes with the Reinforced Pullover for the title of "ugliest piece of clothing in the game" - and no matter how high I price them, they fly off of the shelf, and I have no idea whatsoever why.


5. Smock: I don't entirely blame the customers for not buying this. Never mind that it's possibly the best looking piece of menswear in the game. First, Sony hung that awful name on it. Then, just when customers were starting to buy it, they listed it as a Dress. So to persuade a customer to wear it, you have to explain to them why you're asking a guy to wear a dress. (Never mind that my female customers, early in the game, would have killed to wear it - they can't. Some "dress.") So OK, I sort of understand - except that I also get this reaction when I'm wearing one in front of them, and they agree that it's obviously not a dress. Which leads to my single biggest complaint ...


6. "Homosexual panic" in general: 95% of both genders the exact same five items of clothing: (1) Pocketed Work Pants, black. (2) Dress Shirt, black. (3) Gunman's Duster, black. (4) Uniform Boots, black. (5) Leather Gloves, black. And if you try to sell those peopleanything else, they accuse you of trying to make them look gay. Even if you offer them the exact same outfits that Han Solo wore in the movies.

On Test Center:

• Any sort of Bandolier : No one wants to wear these because of lack of storage and how goofy they look over jackets anyhow.


• Modest Dresses: This Includes Loose dress,Decorative Dress,Pleated Dress and Maiden's Dress. I've only Sold the lacy Intricate Dress as a wedding gown and no more than that. And that hideous formal gown .. my god are those things ugyl!


• Any Hats but the Sunhat:None of the other hats sell very well. I personaly like the large headwrap myself but most others dont care for it.


• Belts: Nostorage, ugly around the waist.


• Vests: Dunno why here, most are fairly nice.

Thats about it most else is fair and open season.

Interesting... the comments about reinforced pants, especially since they make up a part of an outfit that seems to sell pretty well for me on Valcyn (so far, and without a display model even - people see it on other people and want one). Decorative Vest, Reinforced Pants, uniform boots, twopocket belt, ribbed shirt *shudder* and long uniform gloves. Do the ribbing, the 'dull parts' of the pants, the boots, either of the two colors for the vest and belt in the same dark grey [I use the one from color range 1] (ok, dark grey plus real black for the things that can take it), and a nice bright color for the rest. Gloves can go either way, but I usually do them in the bright.

What doesn't sell for me?

Admin robes, cloaked dress, Maiden's dress - I really like these three designs but they don't seem to move. Maybe I'll try a display of them right next to my vendor...

Yup. Tatooine is definitely odd...although it seems to be in tune with Valcyn. Go figure. *laughs* For a few weeks, you couldn't walk two metres without seeing some guy in reinforced pants and a soft undershirt (the very popular colour combo was what's become affectionately known as Mooskin: black and white), including one guy who wanted his setin red and pink. I truly could not keep up for the demand, for the incredible month that this trend lasted.

But oh, those cloaked dresses broke my heart. They were so very pretty, so very customisable, and I never sold a one of them. People preferred the formal gown, the intricate dress, anything but the cloaked dress. I have no idea why. Then again, they also wanted those godawful two-strap bandoliers, until they found out the things only come in a range of oranges and pinks (the homosexual panic already mentioned above -- very good point, by the way).

Oh, and I must agree with the Casual Jacket comment. They're the one jacket that looks like great black leather, and everyone ignores them in favour of the Pilot's Jacket -- which is also very nice, but still..

Reinforced Pants are actually among my better sellers on Kettemoor, as part of either an Urban black/white set or a Woodlands (green/black) set:

Urban: Black/white Flex-Form or Muscle shirt, black Reinforced Pants with white pads, white Panelled Boots with black strapping, black gloves, Black or White Gunman's Duster.

Woodlands: Black Trim-Lined Shirt, black pants with forest pads, forest or jade boots with black strapping, black gloves, mid green/black Spec-Ops duster (black the predominant colour).

I wear the Woodlands set myself sometimes, with a black Light Bustier instead of the shirt, and an Elegant Gemstone necklace. It seems to sell a few extra sets .....

forgot to mention above ... the trick to reinforced pants is that it is VITAL to wear a long coat with them, especially if you're female ... heh.

Mooskin... Oh yes... I hadn't heard that term, but yes, I thought it when I did a pair up in white and black for someone. Interestingly, one of the two ways to do white/black on the reinforced pants doesn't seem to look nearly as much like that particular animal hide.

Now, if I was really a tailor in the game, in addition to NOT sewing the cargo pockets shut when I make a bandolier, I would take a cloaked dress... slit it down both sides, from around the bottom of the ribs all the way to the ground, and then have the customer put on a brightly colored revealing fleshwrap underneith. Am I the only one that thinks that the fleshwrap would be very effective as a 'glimpse you catch when a woman moves' kind of thing rather than 'in your face, let it all hang out'? Obviously to do this in game would require several major changes (which would also make hair ribbons possible, I think)... so I'm just pie-in-the-sky thinking of ideas.

It's funny how different things are between the different servers (and planets) I sell a ton of belts and bandoliers and I couldn't give away a fancy dress of any kind(of course my shop is right next to a rebel outpost... so I guess you have to know your market)

Things I don't even bother to make:

Councilman's Robes, Double Robes, Long Leather Gloves, Belted Skirts, Sneakers, Women's Shoes, Pullovers, Desert Crawlers, Tipless Gloves, Rank Sashes

I still sell a fair number of smocks (though they're always renamed Trenchcoats) I love them, I try and sell one to every male that walks into my shop looking for something more "formal". They remind me of a long coat that I used to wear in AO... AO had some of the best clothes of any MMO I've played. Lots of colors and *whispers* patterns.... Ahh what I would do for something with a pattern on it...

The standard male outfit where I am is: Thin Striped Pants, Muscle Shirt, Uniform Boots, Link-Steel Gloves, and a jacket of some kind... they vary... dusters of course, cold weather jackets, etc. I stock these in black with different color stripes (blue, green, and red) and I can't keep them in stock... I also sell a fair amount of flex-form shirts and large pocket pants... The stripes match up on those two items...

I love the tipless gloves, in the right tint they look great !

/agree wholeheartedly.

Now, if only we moved like women...but that's a whole 'nother boat of shrimp.
