Thread: Items tailors rarely make and customers rarely buy (and why) Please add to the list.
Hi I've noticed there are several items that tailors rarely craft. Either they are graphically bugged in some way or just look frumpy.
- Jackets &some vestson females - football player look
- Belts - hula hoop look, hide behind wookiee wraps
- Necklaces - float in air
- Pullover - too much material on back, looks hunchbacked, holes in material over buttocks
- Cold Weather Gloves - Can't be worn with jackets
- Short skirt - Looks like shorts, needs to extend to floor or lose the slit
Belted jacket - ugly
Tight jacket - the tight jacket actually looks pretty good on but it seems out of place with the rest of the items and no one buys it. Was wondering how to use this to look like Peter Pan... any suggestions?
Crested vest - never make these
Short skirt - doesn't look quite right
belted vest - never make these
The Dress Robe is one of the items I wear quite a bit. It looks great on women (more than men) and I just love mine. Even though I don't sell many, I like to wear it so I 'stand' out.
Reinforced Jumpsuit - this is really a cute little outfit and with heavy gloves and boots, it looks like a snow bunny outfit on women. Nothing wrong with this cute little outfit but like the dress robe, does not sell.
Maybe we could all have specials running at the same time on our servers... trying to get people to wear some of the other stuff thats nice.
Women's Shoes.. just ugly and need socks
Heavy Flightsuit.. why exactly does it cut off at the knees?
Two Strap Bandoleer.. anyone ever seen one that FIT?
Decorative Dress... have you seen what it does to women's boobs? ugh
necklaces... other than stately and emerald pendant... just don't fit right
Long Leather Gloves... cuffs are just funky
hats.. most of them! male entertainers seem to love the decorative headpiece (go figure) but they can find them cheap on the bazaar because they seem to be a common dropped item. The exceptions are the Twi'lek headpeices. Some of those just rock
Skirts: Decorative skirt makes hips HUGE, Short Skirt looks like shorts, noble skirt is nice, but seems to get overlooked. The long skirts sell well. Can't keep Fashionably Pleated Skirts in stock!
Desert Crawlers. The ONLY item I refuse to put on my vendor. I'm determined to rid the galaxy of them!
Double Robe: Makes the skinniest little slip of a person look grossly obese
Crested Vest.. I need say no more.
There are others, but those are the worst offenders.

Heavy flightsuit i agree with
Ive never sold one of these.
The vests i agree with but a definite on my list has to be.....
Bikini leggings.
I sold ONE pair in my whole time as master tailor and that was to a girl in the guild. These just dont sell ![]()
Then again........... they kinda make your legs look like a wrestlers.... anyone else feel they should be more transparent?
Kind Regards,
Tally, Master Tailor of Naboo (and now corellia!), on Eclipse
You dont' sell bikini leggings? Wow. I sell them by the truck load! I personally think the bit on the front looks like a strap-on. But they're very popular. Go figure....

Okay. I am now convinced that our Tatooine has some unusual fashion trends.
The first week I was starting on Novice Tailor, my friend found a crested vest as some loot, and gave it to me. I made a simple matching outfit, and was instantly besieged with requests for that vest. It was a little embarassing to say that I couldn't make them yet, but people buy 'em now.
They also love the warm hat (I have no idea why), the reinforced jumpsuit, the heavy flightsuit, the double robe -- pretty much two-thirds of what folks have listed here as unsellable. I can't keep bikini leggings in stock. *laughs* Or the intricate dress, which has turned out to be a big hit with women here (possibly because the one gown everyone wants keeps coming out teal green -- thanks, SOE!). Swoop helms are popular, and occasionally so are sunguards, and I've had to actively discourage folks from buying belts, for the very hula hoop reason listed here. But once a few folks have one, all their friends want them, too, even if they're ugly...
Very strange.. *laughs*
Crested Vest
Mangy Vest
Long Vest
But, some of you mention headgear... I personally can't keep Sunguards in stock, or Swoop Helms. Large Headwraps sell less frequently, but they sell. Lekku Wraps used to sell well, but they stopped selling for some reason.
as a master tailor, people don't buy the dom arts clothes from me any more. Even from my vendors.
DA: The maiden's dress has never sold in my lifetime.
Casual I: I don't get a lot of call for the wooly jacket, the modest skirt, or the sneakers.
Casual II: The desert crawlers don't sell, the mangy vest, or the tight jacket. I wear the decorative dress, and people still don't like it
it's too understated, I guess
Casual III: wookie padded gloves are just like patterned wookie gloves, except not as good looking and cost more to produce? what's the point.
Casual IV: I don't seem to sell pantaloons, reinforced pullover, sports wrap, or the wooly shirt
Field II: crafter's pants, lined work shirt, wookie shoulder pads
Field III: wookie shoulder pad
Formal II: I have trouble finding homes for the flared jacket, the flared cuff shirt, the lined shorts, long-sleeved gown, or the slacks.
........
I actually thought it was funny that someone had trouble selling the dress slacks. I can't keep them in stock. Call them "Imperial Uniform Slacks" and see how long they stay in the vendor.

I have to say that the least likely things to sell are belts and to a greater extent bandoliers. Belts I can't stand and refuse to make because they are (proportionally speaking) six inches wide, and I can't stand how they look.
Bandoliers have the same problem, but I hate them for a far more practical reason. When wearing a bandolier, you can't wear a pack, which every person I have met has to do to keep they're stuff handy.
But moreover, I don't think either of these will sell until these pocketed items actually hold things.

It's pretty funny, I have sold quite a bit of sunguards (but black only
), belts, intricate dresses, necklaces, 2 tone formal skirts (but only men want them), tight jackets (usually the people asking for 1 toned formal skirts want one too)... I sell quite a lot of grenadier and cartridge belts in bazar, as well as bikini legs. These look nice actually but not when you wear them lol.
The pleated dress and decorative dress are plain hideous and too much a pain to make for what they look like. Crested vest is ugly as well, warm hat ridiculous, and I don't like (and don't sell) most short skirts either... Never sold any of them, nor maiden dress, smock
I love the silver pendant myself, but I have long hair so it looks fine.
But mostly it's like the poster above.
Most of the vests....best one is 'simple' but it comes in pooey colors only. If they made that full range might sell better.
Warm hat...yeah what the heck is that Fez thing? I sell swoops and sungaurds tho on a regular basis, so no complaints there.
Belts work fine if you DON"T equip a jacket with em. I sell alot actually. They just need to make them scale under the jacket, not over.
Yeah football shoulders on jackets....pity too cos the Suit Jacket is very pretty. Never sold one tho ![]()
Reinforced Pants. They make a person's thighs look horribly bloated and huge, which isn't especially popular with women. The color pattern isn't big with men, either, who seem to prefer solid colors to mixes in my experience. I've sold these, because they don't look TOO bad in the Examine screen or on display, but never actually see them worn.
Tipless Gloves are a pain. I sell plenty of them, but I always have them traded back in sooner or later because people don't seem to realize they have to buy a pair with tips matching their skin color. I've been trying to move Link Steel Reinforced Gloves instead because they're less of a hassle, but everyone seems to prefer Tipless or Long Uniform Gloves.
Half the boots I rarely see. If given the option, virtually anyone will take Uniform Boots or Standard Boots over any of the other versions, especially the two-tone patterns like the Thermal Boots.
I sell plenty of Sunguards, but hardly any Large Headwraps. You'd think they'd be popular in Mos Eisley for the whole desert-dweller look, but I suppose most players have a stigma about Arabic styled clothing at the moment. A shame, really, since it's probably the best headgear for non-twi'leks available.
Aside from the Infiltrator Suit and Tactical Skinsuit, I have trouble moving the bodysuits. Trader's Flightsuits go now and then, but the rest almost never sell.
