I'm with Sue on this. We've had a well bumped thread on tailoring colors for 4 days now. Not a peep out of the devs. Please try to get us an answer.

When I first saw the profession correspondents list, I looked through it to see if there were any names I recognized... I saw only one, but it was for my favorite profession! I was like, Alichai! I remember her from the pre-launch boards, and the Chilastra boards too! Yay! The tailor correspondent is on Chilastra! That makes me happy. So welcome, Alichai! Congratulations!

The other thing is that I was telling myself I WOULDN'T take the time to pummel you with tailor issues, since this was congratulation time... BUT you asked for issues... hehe.

To me, the biggest problems are the bugs, not the balance issues. Mainly the bad color palettes and bad schematics (I'm only novice tailor, I didn't know about bad schematics!)

But the issue I didn't hear mentioned that needs attention too is the missing icons bug. It sucks trying to create a pendant for someone and not knowing how it will look until it's finished.

So thanks, Alichai! Go you! Yay!

So because the devs ignore the issues brought up by beta testers it is somehow their fault? Almost all the issues now where known in beta and the devs did know about them. How is it the beta testers faults that the devs decided to ignore the issues and not fix them? It's not the beta testers job to program the game.

I do find it funny how all those people who called Beta testers liars saying the game was not ready are findingout how wrong they where now.

Actually, I'm not balming the beta testers in general. But you make the point yourself: The devs did not listen to them. So what makes us think they are now?

The fact that someone was in beta does not impress me. The game was released with all kinds of bugs that the beta players made the devs fully aware of, and now we're supposed to expect that they're going to listen to these people now?

All they did was choose people that they know will tell them either exactly what they want to hear, or people that are completely clueless about the profession.

And I'm sorry, but someone that has only mastered 2 skill boxes beyond novice does not understand the real issues. The person doesn't even need to use factory parts for crying out loud!

Playing football in your backyard does not mean you are ready for the NFL. And dinking around with tailoring in beta and getting a couple of skill boxes in it post release does not mean you understand the issues that need to be brought up with the devs regarding the class.

Oh, and Mr. Sloth? If you are worried about jealousy, I'd lose that "Master Tailor" title, if you want to have any communication with our wonderful correspondent. He's already accused people that made master tailor of "cheating" and whatnot. So you may want to review the posts he's made, and keep a lower profile with your skills, lest you be accused of cheating as well.

Anyanka, perhaps you should reserve that judgement, were you yourself in beta? I dont think you can punch out those kinds of silly comments if you were not testing yourself. For my part i found the devs to be very responsive to the players, and answered their posts regularly. I find it silly that you think that any problems with the game is related to lacking on the tester's part, so maybe you should show some respect, Alichi is just here to help people, there's nothing wrong with that.

"And I'm sorry, but someone that has only mastered 2 skill boxes beyond novice does not understand the real issues"

pffft bitter much? You're not listening, he was a tailor in beta.

Congrats on your position Ali,

I am not a tailor, but I have an issue on the other sideof the spectrum, as a consumer. I've posted a thread recently, with little response, to whine in some part about not being able to wear a grand healer robe as a female bothan, but also to ask to start a running list of clothing that cannot be worn by certainraces for no apparent reason (not talking about wookie gear or female onlydressesor Twi'lek headwraps). It's an issue if the consumer cannot trust that he or she can wear a certain item until they've actually bought it and tried it. Even if SOE doesn't intend to fix items of clothing that specific races cannot wear, they should put it in the item description in part to warn consumers and to put it out there that it is indeed intentional that they restrict items from certain races. I've talked to other in game people about the issue. A lot of tusken wear seems to have problems (even though it is not tailor crafted, it should be looked into) andI've heard ofrodianshaving some issue with a piece of clothing,I forget. It would be great if a running thread can be started where all the problematic clothing is listed.

Hi Ali!

Congrats on being the first Tailor correspondent! I don't post much, but I read the forums just about every day. I think this is a great idea, and it will really hope to consolidate some key issues for our profession.

This isn't as high a priority as the others that have already been mentioned but: it's a pain that you can't see most jewelry in the preview window when crafting. I've heard that the most you can get is the bottom of an item by roatating. This is a pain when you're choosing out colors for an item you have never seen, and a fix would be much appreciated.

I think it would be cool to have a category in experimentation called 'dyes' that would give you a couple of 'rare' colors (or a few from a higher tree) if you successfully experimented enough

Well, good luck: I'll be watching the boards carefully!

I would say before making any major changes (beyond decay, colors, fixing bugged colors, and sorting categories of clothes both in crafting tools and in vendors/bazaar . . .wait those are major changes!)

That the BE (bio-engineer) profession is kinda a little interrelated with ours, as in the bio-components they can do, that we can incorporate into synth cloth (I don't have any higher kinds of cloth yet) add some nice bonuses. I've been wondering if an item i make with this enhanced cloth, gets sockets in it, if they can add yet more bonuses to the clothing .. . . It's a reason to pay way more than usual for an item and adds variety. I dont' think the game has been live long enough yet for most people to know about either option, although I've been beginning to have a few customers ask about the socketed thingamajiggers. and the looted bonus thingies to put in the sockets?

Anyway, since I don't think BE's can currently put the bio-components for our cloth etc thru a factory, these enhanced synth cloth can only be used in items that do not require identical synth cloth from a crate (as to make crated/factory synth with the BE enhancements you'd have to start with crated/factory identical BE bio-components.) So this aspect of tailoring will be severely limited until they fix BEs.

The only subcategory clothing currently seems to have on vendors/Bazaars is the jewelry and that just plain isn't enough. Armor pieces get alot of categories, we need some for clothing too. Especially since on our own personal vendors, it only shows say the first 100 items, and only sorts within that 100 when you click on name or price or category, then you have to hit next items to see the 2nd hundred items, etc. for each next group of 100. People sort the first 100 items and go ok that's everything on here, i have to explain a hundred times a day about next item (WHICH i was hoping to use the custom ad barking on Advertising Two, in the merchant tree, which is also very related to tailoring and needs fixed, to explain to customers about that, but custom barking isn't working). For xample say i have, this is xtreme and not what i have, but say i have 50 Standard boots, 50 cloaks, 50 light bustiers, 50 sports bustiers. And I uploaded say 10 of each every day for five days. the first 100 would show only the first two days worth of uploadings, people would sort that and think oh she only has a few bustiers etc, when there's more on the next items in the 2nd hundred items . . .you know? when they click on name or category to sorty they naturally ASSUME it's sorting everythin gthere. it's a basic assumption to make, and having to hit next items to see stuff that won't sort in is kind of counter-intuitive, and very user unfriendly, with how many times I've had to explain it.

Thanks for listening to me alot of this has probably gotten brought up before. Just have the casual tree and a couple color boxes. Destroyed some things that didn't sell, but not a grinder.

Welcome! We're glad to have you!

Couple of things--- fix the problem with the crafting window on higher level jewelry. It's pretty hard to make something you can't see, and the necklaces don't appear. The viewing window is blank. And not just during crafting, but in your inventory and on the vendor as well. You can't see it til you put it on.

Thecolor 1 optionon theluxurious gown seems to be broken. You get two choices. A big window of bright white, or a big window of bright white. Neither of which change anything on the item.

My biggest gripe--- where's the RED! Where's the ORANGE?

Fuscia is lovely. Burgandy is nice.I love peach! But come-on.. we can make starships with hyperdrive! Why can't we make red?

Here's a serious issue with Tailoring (and Bio Engineers)

1. Apparantly, Myoflex cloth treatments are bugged - they DISPLAY skill mods, but those skill mods don't do anything constructive.

Assuming that gets addressed, then

2. 90% of all tier 3 and up clothing requires factory identical synthetic cloth and has NO OPTION to use a single piece of hand-crafted cloth. Myoflex cloth treatment muse be factory identical in order to use them in a schematic to generate factory identical synthetic cloth. Bio-Engineers CANNOT use factories.

See where I'm going with this?

I would like to also see some INCENTIVE to wearing standard clothing (as opposed to clothing with + to skills).

For example: wearing armor while in med center or cantina would halve your wound/ fatigue healing rate.

I just get sick of 'fighter types' that run around 24/7 in full armor, never unequip their weapon, and laugh at me when I offer to make them a set of 'off duty' clothing.

A lot of people are great about wantin new clothes...and almost as many don't give a care if they spend the entire game in noob outfit.

That's a minor issue I'd like addressed AFTER the major fixes you want, which I obviously agree with.

Oh, and it'd be cool if, in addition to getting new colors...we got some pattern options...pinstripe, paisly, floral, etc...add some of that to the customization branch of hte tailor skill tree at some point.

Congratulations on the assignment Alichai (good to see a fellow Chilastian got it ). If you need any help don't be afraid to call on us.

As for tailoring issues, here's my short top-5 list (I take it you'll start more detailed threads on most things mentioned) in order... most important first:

1. High level tailor drops

2. Clothing items not decaying

3. 55 'missing' colors

4. Wookiee colors not working right

5. Experimentation not working (though personally I like not having to worry about resource quality)

These are all off the top of my head. Maybe I missed something more important.

Good luck with the job and feel free to call on (any) us for any assistance.
