Thread: Please welcome our new Tailor Correspondent!
Welcome!
I think we are a fun bunch here heh!
My biggest gripe about Tailoring so far has to be the lack of listorganization in the Clothing and Armor Tool. When you have a lot of tailoring skills (or any other crafting skills), youhave A LOT of scematics to wade through every time you want to make something.
I would LOVE for theClothing tools to:
1. separate general crafting clothing from tailored clothing
2. sort clothing in both categories by type, i.e. shirts, skirts, pants, robes/dresses, jackets, gloves, etc.
That would make looking for patterns MUCH easier. I hate scrolling through 60 schematics to find a belt that will look good with a shirt. ![]()
Also could you look into our colors we recieve in Tailoring 4? I hear there is no advantage of going from tailoring 3 to 4 (other than getting master tailor of course)because you get no significiant new colors. I would like to see more color types (like a fewmore pastels and bright colors maybe).
Congrats!
I know a lot of good ideas have already been posted (as well as a number of gripes), but I am sure they will be a very good place to start and most people who continue to have those problems will have no problems posting again to help you along.
Thanks for taking on such a responsibility.
Good luck Ali. I'll help anyway I can.
Nice to see someone I recognize from beta around here.

Xahn - This is exactly what we don't need. Please refrain from flaming in the future.

Welcome and congratulations!
Now then, the top issues as I see them: 1) Lack of clothing decay, which you already said is your top priority. 2) No reason to experiment or search out higher-quality resources - related to #1. Fix #1 and #2 goes away. 3) FIX WOOKIEE CLOTHING COLORS!!!
hey anyanka, so you are saying that us beta players get special treatment? Where? I was a beta tester and I get no special treatment. I just want to say welcome Ali and ignore those who have nothing contructive to say.
My main issues are the lack of colors and the need for a better sort tool in the bazaar. Also there should be some way to eliminate false items on the bazaar such as pants being called Hooded robes, etc. We know you are not a miracle worker Ali, but if you could look into these things and get back to all of us Tailors and future Tailors then it would be much appreciated.
Again I say, welcome and don't let tthe flamers get to you.
Ali, if they give the correspondants moderating abilities, don't be shy using them to shut down useless flaming trolls. There is zero value in letting them rant, and a great deal to be gained by gagging them quickly and mercilessly.
If correspondants don't have mod powers, they should. The moderators areevidently too overwhelmed to deal with personal attacks on other players.
At any rate, good luck. You'll need it. Dealing withany player community with the meager tools they give you is battling a tsunami of sheer stupidity with a dixie cup.
Okay, thanks again to all those that support me. I will need help from all of you, even those that would rather someone else was chosen. The best way to make things better forall of usis definitely not to bash me ^_^ But to work WITH me... even if we don't see eye-to-eye on the "right" way to play the game.
There are many issues that are independent of your grind/not-grind playstyle, and fixing those would make tailoring more fun for all types of players ![]()
So Sorry about the main issues that I forgot last night. Believe me, I AM aware of them. I was trying to come up with a list very late at night when I was still very excited *giggle*
So lets get some threads started!
__Alichai__ (not a "HE")
First welcome to the position. I hope you have a good relationship with an armorsmith for some shielding from the petty potshots. (And shame on anyone for attacking someone at this point.)
Second, Hail the Twilek Goddess that you are anti-grind. I was terrified that tailoring issues would get subsumed into how to better destroy items rather than how to create and sell them. And I hope this will also mean that there's a concentration on how new tailors can have the same experience we are having early in the game in being able to skill up by actually playing the game!
Top issues that I see are most of the ones everyone has:
Drops are better than tailored items: both colors and high level styles -- I'd like the "missing" colors that I've never seen back, but if they don't want them in the game so be it,BUT they shouldn't be dropping from MOBs. Personally I'd like the colors back, even if it is a long term reward past master.
Clothing Decay is obviously the big long term one. Without decay, there's no future for our profession.
Sorting items is a major irritant, but it doesn't hurt me other than annoyance, so I put it fairly low.
One that I haven't seen:
Usability -- I have had several angry people who bought things that they couldn't use either because of sex or race. There should be usability listed somewhere in the standard item description.
Good Luck!
If they insist on handing out high-level Tailoring clothes to characters in drops, I wish they'd at least throw us a bone, and restrict the colors of those clothes. Make them all only in the colors a Novice Tailor has. And preferably, concentrate them in all the crappy greys and such of that ultra-limited palette.
It's annoying having to tell dozens of people a day "No, I can't make Gunman's Dusters yet," but at least that answer is easy to understand for the average player - "OK, so the schematic doesn't come until Field Wear IV, and she doesn't have that skill yet. Makes sense."
It's a lot harder to answer questions like "I see bright red clothes all the time? Why can't you make me a shirt that's really red, instead of palming off this maroon-purple thing as red?" Explaining that not only can you not fulfill the apparently simple request for a red shirt, but that you will *never* be able to is depressing for both tailor and customer.
