Thread: Brainstorming: male entertainer garb

This is kind of random and off-topic, but one of my favorite combat-wear outfits is red and black composite boots, pants and both biceps, a red and black metal bikini, and black uniform gloves. Every time I wear it, I leave people scared of me, yet panting in my wake.

Back to male dancer garb: male dancers are becoming more and more common. One of my best and oldest friends (he's left the game now, sadly) was a male dancer/TKM, and traditionally wore some sort of tactical skinsuit, a pair of boots, and a belt or bandolier. It was attractive and formfitting, but masculine. Well, except for his pink and purple one, that wasn't so much masculine, but it matched his eyes and tattoo... which I gave him, of course. *wink*

Male dancers do need some clothes targeted for them.

Well, there's no doubt about this. But my point is that we get so little new clothing schematics, that I would consider it a travesty to focus on male dancers because there are so few to begin with. Honestly, it would be a challenge to come up with a less popular category of clothing then male dancers (maybe female pikeman or female squad leader?).

To me I'd suggest making things that had the biggest impact to the game. And that means things that we get asked for over and over again and that we've had on our "wish list" since launch. Some broad categories of particularly neglected "categories" of things would be:

imperial clothing

rebel clothing

ranger clothing (hooded cloaks with RFP and other similar items. how many of THOSE could you sell?)

female "combat" garb: how many times do you get a female TKA or similar customer wanting "something sexy that I can wear in combat and has combat bonuses" and you end up sending them on their way with "the usual" paramilitary cammos and a spec ops duster? I'm sure we could think of a lot of very cool things in this category that would be huge huge sellers.

smugglers clothing (we brainstormed this before, lots could be done here)

wookiee clothing (assuming there are any wookiees left that aren't wearing sardine cans)

RAWR... Tom Selleck... /drool

Here's what I think would be sexy (and is already doable from what we have available): I've been to modern dance performances where the guys wore black t-shirts, black dancer's pants, and black dance shoes. Think black flexform shirt or muscle shirt, black infiltrator leggings (thin striped pants if you want a more casual streetwear look) and black sandals or black dress shoes.

Mmmm.

The fact is that except for the Chipendale style shows (which I don't think that SOE or LucasArts are going to sanction), male dancers almost never have a special uniform. They usually end up with a very neutral looking leotard so that they don't distract from the female dancer's outfits. In the case of informal dancing (like tap), the male outfits are usually something that looks like a stylized version of street clothes or just a set of formalwear. In these cases, just gettingsome more generic *clothes* would help a lot! They could be used for entertainers and non-entertainers alike! Now what I would really like to see are some fantastic costumes. Something like the Cirque de Soliel costumes would be great! That might be too much work for the art team, though.

Their site is being really slow so I'll have to add more later. This is just the characters from E1 that I could find pic of in the databank. Some of the clothes might already be there but I missed it, and some might be worn by a female but would look great on a guy too.
