Thread: How many tailors have conversaitons like this?
Kana: I don't charge for sockets, they just happen, life's little miracles
ROFL! That's great Kana.
Someone tries ta haggle, tell 'em your prices are stone. They mouth off, just hit the 'ol /addignore. Ah, blissful silence.

There, not a problem anymore.
I'd reply "Enjoy your purchase, and please never talk to me again. I don't own a Protocal droid, and it's too hard to understand you without a translator."

Currently, doesn't having multiple sockets on one article of clothing defeat itself.
From my understanding, only one enhancer can be successfully placed on one single article of clothing.
Yes you can add more skill enhancers to the same article, but it will have no effect on the wearers stats.
Am I correct?
If so, 3-4 sockets doesn't matter. As long as it has one its just fine ![]()
Lol, you wouldn't beleive the idiot I got today. I have to use a false name for him though, since I reported the jerk.
Millions - Me
BSFATLM - Big Stupid Fat Ass Twi'Lek Male
Millions - Well, your rugged jacket's all done. I'm only charging you 300 credits for it, since it only has one socket.
BSFATLM - It only has one socket!? That jacket is broken! Either you make me another one, or I'm not paying for it.
Millions - I'm terribly sorry sir, I'll make you a new one right away. *makes new jacket*
Millions - There you go sir, this one has two sockets, a much better jacket. The price is 600 credits.
BSFATLM - You said it was 300 credits, you tailors are always trying to rip me off!
Millions - Sir, I said the price was 300 because the first one only had one socket, this one was a much better success, and I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to charge you full price.
BSFATLM - If I'm paying 600 credits, I want both jackets.
Millions - I'm terribly sorry once again sir, but my prices are standard. I tried to cut you a deal on the first one because I beleived it was of inferior quality. I'll ahve to charge you 900 credits if you want both.
BSFATLM - Jesus! *insert f word*-ing Tailors! You guys think you own the game! Tell you what, I'll duel you for the jackets.
Millions - Sir, I'm a Tailor, not a fighter, I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave my store.
BSFATLM - You're a f#g! Like all Tailors! Man, stupid clothes, what a waste of money! Lol! Armor is soo much better anyway!
Millions- You're entitled to your opinion sir, but I'd still like you to leave now *adds him to house ban list*
*BFATLM sends me several tells trying to get me to come out of the house and duel him, saying I'm a p*ssy, and that I deserve to die. I report him, and then /addignore BFATLM!*
...All over a Rugged Jacket. My personal favorite part was: "you tailors are always trying to rip me off!"
Black is so untrendy, I can't stand it anymore. So many people wearing cheesy black cloaks and dusters, it's almost becoming Coat Wars.
On the money for tailors issue: When I go to my personal tailors and contacts, I expect to pay money, a lot of it. Especially with my habits when I actually have money. It's not uncommon for me to spend a good 50k on one day of clothes just to try stuff out, I usually hand my old styles to guild mates, everybody wins.
...and I'm a poor doctor! People actually think that 2k is a lot for something that took time and resources isn't worth it? How about you become a tailor and make all the stuff that you want instead of dogging down our merchants?
I typically don't post, but this guy was so hard to understand, I thought I might as well. Keep in mind this starts 4 minutes before the shuttle arrives, and finishes when the shuttle acutally does arrive.
Customer: harin
Me: Yeah?
Customer: how much 4 4 creates of synthetic cloth?

Is it too much to ask that people use full words, not numbers and letters? And I can stand a few reserved letters, but honestly, if I misspell as bad as some people do, I just start all over.
just do like i do in this situation
say something like ok,i will tell you what i really want your buisness i will give you the cloak for 1500 plus i wil make sure it has 4 sockets in it
right after you send that tell put said customer on the ignore list ![]()
He agreed, and we decided on a black one. Thinking what to make to go WITH the duster, I asked how much he had to spend on the outfit as a whole.
2000 credits.
At this point I politely informed him that my dusters sell for 2500 credits at my store, 3000 on the 'zar, however i'd be happy to make him another outfit which doesn't include this one specific item. He then told me he had some hide he could give me instead. Nabooian scaley hide to be precise
2000 credits and 250 scaley hide he had his requested black outfit with duster, and we both went home happy
Goes to show that even when some customers can't come up with the credits for the bigger ticket items (especially when people (like me) who want a t-21 end up paying 17k for a good sliced one on shadowfire), can often come to some sort of agreement. He got his clothes, and i got partial fiscal compensation, and some resources to which i'd spend quite awhile hunting down on my own.
Just wanted to show that not all newbies/lowbies are bad business. Making deals like that can help cement a customer base, and promote word of mouth advertisment from the customer you went out of your way to satisfy.
Just my two centicredits.
I don't mind the customers who ask what something is right away and instead of telling me I charge too much, offer a mutually beneficial deal. I will always take hides in lieu of credits, but I think most of the complaints here aren't about the customers who are reasonable, it's about the ones who expect and demand and refuse to say, "Hmmm, I'm not a tailor, maybe it's not as easy as I thought."
A-Ti
someone msged me the other day asking me how much i sell my synthetic cloths. i told him i haven't sold them since i made master, but he wants to hear the price anyway. i just thought it was some starting tailor who wants to know how much he should sell for, and i told him "2.5k to start, 3.5k after the factories broke." after he confirmed that the price was per crate, he started saying all kinds of stuff... turns out that he's an armorsmith who needs them for grinding, and said he usually purchase 100 for 5k, but his tailor isn't online.
(you guys can see where this is going...)
i told him that right after i stopped selling, people were bribing me with prices over 5k per crate (which was true, and i didn't sell them to my regulars since i'm usually short on themmyself), and he said "they're crazy", then proceeds to ask me if i want to sell it to him for 5k per 100, since he doesn't want to spend so much money for grinding...
hmm, well lets see. i just said i'm not even selling them at 5k per 25, what made him think i'm selling them cheaper? especially when i started out by saying i don't sell them anymore
ended up just ignoring the guy. it just made no sense to me... somehow i think most people that wants me to lower my prices think i'm their mom, and they can get me to nudge after whining/threatening/complete nonsense. huh? ![]()
