Thread: Do any of you tailors have combat?
Wow! Thanks for all your responses!
I have alot to think about. I WOULD like to experience other aspects of the game and also unlock my second character slot.
For Chiana... I would love the vehicular line in the FSXP boxes. But with limited combat skills it would probably take a lifetime to fill it. ![]()
I also am unwilling to totally drop entertainer... I love dancing so it really leaves me with little sp to do anything else. I won't ever drop tailor so that's out completely.
Some of my sp is also used up in the FSXP boxes, all boxes useful to crafters (except the senses line of persuasion). I think once I was done filling the vehicular control branch, and explored Kashyyyk, then I'd go back to Master Merchant. There is also of good loot on that new planet that no one seems to be selling. Heck I cannot even do the tailor quest on Kashyyyk. But I am not sure my limited combat lines would even be enough to go into the caverns. This is why I need another character.

My alt is Master Tailor and Master Smuggler. It sets my combat level at 54 and I can craft spices, slice things for myself and for cash, and sell faction perks/points. Just an additional way to make money and have some combat skills all at the same time.

You know I totally spaced Smuggler,
talk about a very viable second profession for a Tailor.
I love that idea about dressing someone and haveing spice in the pockets,
or saying "Im' here for the fashion, but I stay for guns"
Good mix there. ![]()
Artisan 3400, Master Tailor, Master Pikes, Scout 4040... but I am a custom order Tailor.
Almost my entire guild is half combatant (AS/Pistoleer, Dancer/Carbineer, Swords/BE, Dancer/Smuggler, Doc/Arch, etc.) which does cause problems with questing as we level 54s got overlooked, you will need a level 80 to do most of the quests because of CL of the bosses.1 level 80s>6 level 54s
The response on the carbineers boards has been positve about going 0440 carbineer!

It just means I won't be able to do any dances except the ones in the ent box, not giving up those but will need to drop the healing xp box in ent

I like having the shady spice dealer in the corner of my house. =) Seriously though, smuggler as a second profession is like having the best of both worlds--combat and crafting. I won't be soloing Avatar space platform anytime soon but I can hold my own in PvE and can always feign death if things start to turn out badly. Not to mention the fact that spices are incredibly easy to craft and are selling well right now since they stack with each other (which may or may not be intended). All that and I still have enough skill points for a line of Merchant.

0440 is a great choice for Carbineer. I think you'll like it.
I will feel sorry for you if you ever decide to go back and have to earn all that Entertainer Healing XP again, though.

I actually have gone a different route a bit. I don't farm for resources and my harvs are static on Naboo, near my PA. They're mine, I just hate moving them. ![]()
Anyhoo.. my templet now and I think I'll keep it.
Master Tailor / Master Merchant / Master Artisan / 4001 Architect / 0210 Medic
I don't make furni for anyone but me. Hubby is actually a Master Arch but I don't like switching chars.
The 0210 Medic allows me to use stim A's then Bacta shot (or is it jab? not sure) / and then Bacta toss all in succession. Hence, I can heal myself 2/3rds when almost dead and take off on my speeder or with Burst Run. Also, with all three, they recharge differently so I'm good.
I use to dabble pistol but it's turned out FAR Easier to heal and book it, post CU.
Ironically... I am still a combat level of THREE (3). LOL Triple Master, Dabbler and still only Level 3.
How embarrasing is that? ![]()
My alt, is a completely diff story but she's also finding her way.
She loaths crafting though. That's what her Mistress Zahr'Ina is for. ![]()
Seems quite fun.
