I came into this game wanting to be a pistol-slinging tailor.

I started in October of 2003, and as of a couple of months ago I was 0/3/2/1 in tailor,0/0/2/0 in pistoleer and master artisan. Ihad previously mastered merchant but was slowly dropping it. I was getting extremely discouraged - I didn't want to grind, but how long was it going to take?

With the CU came double xp - I gave up and started grinding. Then came the crafting respec - goodbye scout and merchant! I'm now a Master Tailor, Master Artisanand 2/2/4/2 in Pistoleer, with enough skill points left to master Pistoleer.

Had I been a smarter cookie, and actually been logged on at all in the last few weeks, I would have mastered scout and respecced it all into pistoleer. But that idea never occurred to me until it was too late.

At least now I can go out and shoot whatever is near my harvestors, and when the guild goes hunting I'm not the big baby getting killed every two seconds.

I certainly don't mind jumping through Pistoleer in that fashion, but I feel like I cheated in Tailor. I really wanted to master without the grind, but apparently the game mechanics aren't skewed to someone with my playstyle. At the rate it was going for me, it prolly would have been at least another year until I mastered. My time online dropped after the first year to about 15 hours a week - 8 of which was spent in the basement sewing or in the shop dealing with vendors. Maybe I just spent too much time picking out the color schemes for the outfits I was making.

The account i'm going to be doing tailor on has no combat (planning on Master Artisan, Master Tailor, 3/0/4/4 Merchant and one more master profession, unsure what)

2nd account is going to be Master Dancer/Master Swordsman ( bodyguard char), scout (4/0/3/0)

So far i've got my combat character to CL 12, (brawler 0/4/4/0) + scout (3/0/3/0) and this is the first time i've ever had any real experience with combat, and I must say its nice being able to take out those annoying creature lairs that appear near your house/harvesters.

Its been an interesting learning experience playing 2 characters on my computer, fortunatly I have more RAM on the way, and once I get that in with 2GB of ram, I should be able to run both with little lag.

I got myself a master tailor/master creature handler, with merchant xx44. Seems to suit me well. I don't really have many harvesters or anything, but I do need to go plonk one down, I just set my pets on whatever's around while I fiddle around with the harvies, it's like having some personal body guards that are cute and cuddly at the same time.

I was master tailor, tkm, novice scout, merch 0003, artisan 0440, and 3 1/2 lines of fs stufffor the longest time, then when they changed the sp for tkm, I had to drop scout completely to keep tkm.

I tried it for a while, was fun looking good while fighting, but I didn't like doing only a few hundred damage each time. I respeced to master swords, and it's great! I love being the hardest hitter, and only level 53 (or 54, I forget). As soon as I fill up my last 2 boxes of fs stuff, i'll have to drop almost all of merchant. That's the only bad thing. It's really hard to have what I want, and still unlock the second char slot with 24 sp tied up in the fs trees...

I usually fight with the guild, so as long as we work together, and take our doc, things go pretty good and I only incap when every single animal attacks me at once....and besides, maurader armor doesn't look half bad. or padded for that matter.
