My nice story:
I was in Coronet waiting for the bus (as usual, I swear they take off as soon as I get my ticket!) and saw there was a Novice Chef there. I asked her if she had a new chef apron yet, to which she replied no. So being the nice tailor I am, offered her one for free. She was happy as could be and gave me some kind of drink in exchange.

My not-so-nice story:
After P6, I decided I'd finally check out Jabba's place. So I've been there for about an hour doing things, when I get a tell "Are you a Master?" Hoo boy! A few tells later I find out a customer referred him to me and he needed training. He was in Coronet at the time. I told him I had some things to do on Tat and would be in Coronet in about 30-45 minutes. He was cool with that.
20 minutes later: "How much longer?" This in the middle of me getting abused by a couple Tuskens...so it takes a couple minutes to answer, causing me to get another tell in one minute "You there?" I explained what happened, again he was cool with it. Told him I'd be maybe another 20 minutes and to Search for another Tailor in the meantime. Surprise, he couldn't find a Master.
15 later, had to take the dog out so went AFK. Came back had at least 2 tells "Hey man, where are you?". Started heading back to catch shuttle and decided to stay AFK. Tells kept coming more frequently and started getting a little less friendly. After approx. 10 tells and "Where the f$#@ are you?" he was /ignored.
So I get back to Coronet and see one of my friends who I go say hi to. Who is standing right next to her? D'oh!! Mr Tell! After a minute or so she says he wants to know why I'm not talking to him. I sorta felt bad and trained him anyway, but *grrrrrr!!* Don't get all nasty with me and expect something from me! Sheesh

My fun story...

I was stocking my vendor when a girl that i know sends me a tell with 'where are you now?' I tell her, and through talking she asks me to train her in some merchant skill (which i forgot i had given up) I tell her i could use the appr. points, but i am busy right now. I also notice that there is a new clothing factory right in front of my shop, making armor, so i don't mind, but another with the guy's name on it right next to my shop making synth. Not wanting to seem suspicious, i ask her to send him mail to see where his shop is, and offer her some metal for doing it. (she's grinding up to novice tailor at the time). She does, and comes to get the metal, then proceeds to sit in my shop and grind, while talking to me. I don't mind this, it gets boring making stuff for the vendor. I end up teaching her another merchant skill when we discover i can make my special order vendor say 'I'm a little teapot'. She grinds up to novice tailor, and asks for money to train. I tell her to go sell the deeds she was making on the bazaar for 800 credits. So she offers them to my vendor. I laugh, and explain i meant IN TOWN. She says, just buy it, and I end up doing it. Then she offers another one and begs me to buy it as well. Since I have more money than i need really, i decide to do it, then she asks for the 5k for novice. Just to get her to go (was starting to get annoyed at this point) I gave her the money and told her where to train. After she leaves, i still get tells from her for the location of the trainer. I told her where it was, and she eventually found it. Ah, peace and quiet for a while, then /tell Can i have 4000 please? I ask what for, since i like to know where my money is going. She promises to pay me back (also promised to pay back the 5k, and various other amounts i have given her.) and says it's a secret. I tell her no, go earn some or do missions, and she then proceeds to send me tells every minute asking/begging/demanding the money. finally i tell her i have to go afk, and put the tag up. She proceeds to call me names for leaving (childish ones at that, apparently i'm a meanie.), and asking if i'm really gone. While this is happening I'm talking in guildchat to a guy who hasn't been on much and i hit /r instead of /gu and include the message 'doyou know xxx?' /slap self on the head. Then i get more responses that i'm a big meanie and she keeps asking me for more money. Finally i actually had to leave, and when i went ld, i hope she got the picture. I actually groaned out loud as soon as i saw i hit /r. Oh yeah, she wants me to go to tatt and open a shop with her, and got upset when i told her i could barely keep up with the two i have now. LOL

ah, good times, good times. ain't being a tailor grand?

Might as well share my funny story…consider it a warning about running two instances of SWG on the same computer. For background: I have two toons on Kettemoor, my primary (Eicia, the image designer/tailor) is a generally sweet and kind Zabrak. My alternate (Melva, the merchant/aspiring armorsmith/aspiring weaponsmith) is a generally grumpy and uncaring Bothan.

I made the mistake of logging both toons in at once on the same machine, one with the uniform marshal title, the other the novice armorsmith. Whoops. So I'm getting tells on both accounts, trying to alt-tab back and forth to answer them as quickly and best I can. On Eicia's side I get a tell from someone wanting uniforms for his vendors. We chat a bit and I politely inform him that I don't yet have the skill to provide what he's looking for. Meanwhile, I hear the ding from the other instance. I alt-tab over and it's the same guy, this time asking for AUKs. He was kind of a pain when I dealt with him as Eicia, so I decide to indulge Melva's antisocial tendencies. I start off polite, if a bit cold, and explain that I'm still gearing up for production, and I don't have the resources to produce factory runs of AUKs yet. A few minutes go by and he tries again, this time asking if I can make a schematic for him if he provides the resources. "Sure," I reply, "but you aren't going to like my prices." He asks what I charge, and I reply 1 credit per unit resource per item manufactured—for a full 1000 unit AUK schematic, 30000 credits. He bawks and replies that he's only paying for my time in making it, and that can't be worth more than 5000 credits. I can't tell you how satisfying it was to tell him that he was "making an investment in his future," and that if he thought I wasn't going to take a slice of the profit he'd be making off work I could do and he couldn't he was nuts.

my suggestion, do black cloaks in crates. it saves time in the long run.

I got to footwear last night, but i skipped belts, bandoliers, bracelets, headwear (mostly), handwear, and some of the lamer dresses. Hah. But you probably still have more on your vendor than me.

I'm trying to go through everything, and get it all at least represented on there... I was doing quite well before the damn mall poofed.

Oh well, at least the vendor is nice and organised now, and I have a collection of bangles second to none

Weaponsmith here, that kind of thing happens often. I'm also a Rifleman so when i visit Dantooine I usually shout : "I'm here to hunt just like you, I can repair items but not craft right now, thanks". (I don't believe in switching my tag since WS is my main prof.)

non-crafters don't understand that you are not there to craft for them 24/7. If they see you they usually want something from you.

a happy story:

Last patch day (6) I was excited about the new chef apparel so I was making sets of white uniform boots, white crafters pants, chef aprons and 1 of the 2 hats. I was then searching for anyone with a Chef title on, sending them a /tell that I'd like to meet them and then finding them and giving them the outfits. (all of them tipped me 5k or more after I gave it to them) My first chef was a friendly mon cal that looked rather strange in the hat, but whatever. He has turned into a large part of my component business (nearly 4k trim so far) and he's sending friends to buy droid storage components by the crate as well.

A little generosity can do a _lot_ of good.

Wait, you mean I don't exist solely to provide for other people at my own expense?? Some people now have A LOT of explaining to do...
And the next person that demands I make a vehicle customization tool after I've told them I don't have all the required components is not going to like my response.

What i hate is that the chef items were given to us, they are plain and dull but just given as a free gift. Then the neat new content of the crafters apron and new leotard are rewards for doing Jabba's palace. Now I'm a true crafter, I couldn't kill a crazed durni for the life of me so you can only imagine what Jabba's palace would do to me...

I have seen that apron on NPC's for some time now and always wanted it....now it's here and not in my reach.

I sure am feeling like chopped liver from fellow gamers and soe!

As a tailor, I have never made a largebank roll and im not about to pay a comando 100k to effortlessly go get me a schematic!

I've got an idea! Since the schematics can only be learned by a tailor they are useless to anyone else (unless they have novice tailor as well). SO, get a chef that is making bank off of the new goodness food to hire a commando to get the schematic for you, in exchange he gets several crates of trim (they need it for barrels or something) and one of the new aprons. Same deal for the weaponsmith tool kit, etc.
