I had an experience the other day, and I couldn't resist! I'm a novice tailor with a few boxes only, and I don't have a vendor, so I rely on the bazaar and custom orders. So,I was on Corellia doing some shopping near Coronet and I get a tell from this person.
customer: can you make me some fiberpanels and synth cloth, like, quick
(needless to say, I am offended by the "like, quick" part)
me: I guess, how many do you need?
customer:x synth and x fiber (they were large numbers)
(at this point I groan because making all that will be boring, but I could use the cash)
me: ok, sure
(I start crafting, and make some room in my inventory for all the components. After a few are done, I decide to discuss the price)
customer: I'll pay cash
me: ok, good, because this is going to be expensive
customer: how expensive?
me: x credits each
(I quote him a fairly outrageous price, but I am doing this large order all on the spot for him)
customer: x creds each? that's alot
(at this point I promptly STOP crafting)
me: yes, I am making them all on the spot for you, but you can make me an offer on the whole order and I'll consider it
customer: ok, well I have enough cash
(so that lightens things a little, though note that there has been no 'thank you' or anything on his part)
me: ok
(I resume crafting)
customer: how much longer, I need them fast
(I was still on the synth clothes, and hadn't started the fiber panels)
me: 10 minutes
cutomer: ok
me: (7 minutes later): I'm almost done, here are my coordinates x, -y
customer: what planet?
/cough up the water I'm drinking
seriously, how did this guy find me if we're not on the same planet? maybe he saw my stuff for sale, but then why would he assume I'm nearby?
me: ummmm, corellia
customer: ok, well ill meet you at cnet
(If he wanted them so quickly, why didnt he ask a tailor on his planet!? nonetheless, I head over to the spaceport)
me: ok, I'm at the spaceport
customer: x, y
(he gives me some coordinates, not even 20 meters from where I'm standing, how lazy is that?)
I walk up and stand near him, and he is the fattest rodian I've ever seen. [Aside: Why would anyone want to make their avatar that fat? I just don't see the appeal in making an unattrative character. Why make an ugly or fat character, when you have the option of makingyourself even more attrative than you are in real life?]
/startrade (I start dragging the large number of items into the trade window, starting with the syn cloth)
customer: what? these rnt in crates
/scream in head
me: how the crap would they be in crates, I told you I was making them by hand!
(honesly, I'm fairly n00by still, but I know more than this)
customer: oh, welli guess ill take them
(then I start loading the fiber panels into the window)
customer: I need reinforced
/screamagain
me: you didnt say reinforced
customer: well i dont want regular fiber panels
(there's no way I'm sitting around and re-crafting that many panels for him)
/groan
me: then just take the syth cloth
customer: how much?
me: xk
customer: ill give you x k, I can get them for cheaper somewhere else
(I just want rid of him now)
me: fine, whatever
trade complets, and i leave without saying anything. Not at any point did I get a thank you either. I'm as courteous as possible when dealing with other characters. I bought a custom made droid the other day, and I dont know the first thing about droid engineering, so I let the DE take the lead, asked him questions, and gave him all the time he needed, and in the end he gave me a great deal on it.
Ha, if I could start a thread about me customers at my real job, now that would have everyone's sides splitting...

Great thread!
I have had the same character since launch and have yet to complete Master Tailor. I'm a Novice with 3-1-0-2, I don't have a vendor so I rely on Bazaar sales and custom orders still.
A few weeks ago I was in Bestine and I receive a tell and the converstation follows:
C: You're prices are too high.
Me: How so?
C: You're prices are too high.
Me: Well I am one of the cheapest tailors around and my prices are in line with the server.
C: Well still you're prices are too high.
Me: Well I'm sorry you feel that way but the prices are in line for this server.
C: You're prices are too high, I have a Master Tailor and I only charged 1K for my master items and I have 7million credits.
"Me: thinking what server do you live on and who in their right mind would only charge 1K for all master items?*
Me: That's nice.
C: Well seeing as how you're the only tailor on can you make me a sleeveless dress?
Me: I can. For xxxx.
C: That's too much.
Me: I'm sorry but I'm not dropping the price.
C: Okay then I guess since you're the only tailor on I'll buy it. I'm working towards tailor right now.
Me: Okay where are you?
*Same city as me so I go to her*
*I proceed to make the dress in the color she wants, do the trade and all it fine.*
C: Can you train me?
I train her
C: Can you stick around? I'm just about done grinding this box.
Fine, I have nothing better to do today anyway.
Train.
Buh-bye
A few days later,
C: Hey do you have any extra resources and money?
Me: I can spare 2k inert and 2k steel, (they were only grinding materials for me anyway.) I'll loan you 1K.
C: Okay, I'll pay you back.
Haven't seen hide nor hair of her in a few weeks.
Honestly, I have never been told that my prices are too high. I find that I am fairly cheap for offering non-socketed clothing and its usually the masters who try to undercut me. Needless to say, I started getting really p.o.'d within the first few minutes and almost /addignored her but I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment.

Customer: Do you make bio clothes?
Me: Sure do, what can i make for you?
C. I would like some new med clothing.
Me:Pant's, Shirt, Hat, Jacket? All or just 1 or 2 items?
C: I need a complete suit.
Me: Sure thing, come to my vendor. (sent email with info)
C. Can't, don't have time, can you meet me somewhere?
Me: Sure can, where?
C: Rori (WP XXXX, XXXX)
Me:Sure can, OMW.
C:Send me a tell when you get here.
After I get to Rori from Talus. I see him standing outside of starport. I walk up and.......
Me:Hey ******* I got your order done.
C. About time!! I been here for 30 minutes.
Me: hehe sorry, you should have met me somewhere more central. Oh, well. I will be happy to give you a small discount for waiting.
C. Cool, how much I owe you?
Me. (I don't want to brag, but I have some pretty cheap bio clothing and I tell him my price for the full suit)
C. YOU HAVE TO BE **edit**ING KIDDING!!!! I HAVE BOUGHT BIO CLOTHES BEFORE FOR A HELL OF A LOT LESS THAN THAT!!!
Me:Sorry, but my prices are pretty low compared to most.
Well, you get the idea. He sent me tells for about 20 more minutes on how I was trying to rip people off and so on. I told him that if he got the bio stuff for the clothes, I wouldn't charge anything at all. I still havn't heard from him lol. I love my job!!! Don't hear people really complain about armor prices, but I guess armor is prices correctly on the servers. Who knows....

This just happened to me last night. A customer that I had made a couple of Melee/Stun Defense shirts sent me an e-mail asking me to make them five (5) synth cloth schematics and wanted to know what materials theywould need and in what quantities.
I replied back with the neccessary information and they send me a tell. The conversation whent like this
Customer: Hey, what kind of factories do I need to run these off in.
Me: A wearables factory, I have a few in stock if you need one.
Customer: Oh, no thanks. I'm a master architecht.
Me: I neglected to mention in my e-mail that I just can't run off these schematics for free. I have to charge you a nominal fee.
Customer (Who has just bought 21k in BE clothes from me.): Oh...how much
Me: 5k for a 1k schematic.
Customer: Oh, well....I have a friend who'll make them for me for free.
Then why the hell did she ask me do do it? And why five schematics if she had her friend at beck and call? Some people just need a good smack every now and then.

I'm not a master tailor anymore, but I do have an image design story that fits in here.
I was AFK all night with a noKill macro (sit and stand every 30 seconds) so an ATK friend could mind-disease me and finish his dancer exp grind. When I got back I noticed I had mail, and opened my box to find it jammed full of messages from someone I'd never met.
First message:
Hi i need stats changed
Second message: 5 mins later
Will u change my stats
Third message: 5 mins later
Where r u
Fourth message: 30 mins later
Where r u
Repeat this message every half-hour or so for the next EIGHT HOURS while I was asleep. When I get back there were almost 20 messages from the guy. Also note that in my logs he'd never once sent me a tell to see if I had an AFK message or anything (which I did)... for all I know he got my name from TCPA or a cantina and didn't even check to see if I was online.
When i woke up I groggily read his mails and sent a reply by email in case he wasn't online anymore:
Hi. I got your messages, all twenty of them. If someone doesn't reply after the first twenty minutes it's usually safe to assume they're away from keyboard. If they don't reply for 8 -hours- they're probably asleep, like I was. Just a heads up.
Reply from him:
Will u change my stats
[I have no idea why he didn't send me a tell since he was online.]
Reply from me by tell:
No, I only do stat migrations for good friends [or as part of an extensive makeover, but I was a bit peeved at him so I didn't tell him that]
reply from him, still over email:
o ok sorry i am new
Well, I'd kinda figured you were new, kiddo! it's not uproariously funny, but my first annoying customer story. And has this kid never heard of /tell? It's been in any other multiplayer game I've ever played... if he'd used it in the first place he would have known where I was.

NOOOOOO!!!!! This thread CANT die!!!!!! so here's my first encounter of a silly kind
Now mind you my business has grown so much that as soon as I get a tell from someone I dont know I send them a form letter that includes a wp to my vendor and says something to this effect:
HI!!! Thanks for your intrest in Ari's Fashions but due to the high demands on my time as Mayor of Mos Ari I cannot do tailoring orders on the fly. Please visit my shop (wp included) and see if I have what you need on my vendor. If you dont see what you need please send me an email with the name of the item you want and the colors for it. All orders will be processed in the order they are received and are usually done within 24 hours (baring an emergency). I will respond asap with a non-negotiable price (in credits - not trade) and will let you know when you can pick up your order.
Arirok
Owner of Ari's Fashions
Everyone so far has been great about following my requests on this
Now here's what happened ....
Background:
I had just got buffed and was off running missions in my citylate at night last week, minding my own business and REALLY enjoying the quiet break from my orders and responsiblities as mayor. I got the inevitable tell....
The Story:
Him: Hi ... if your not too busy could you pls make me a jacket?
Me: (ok we're ALL suckers for the poliet customer:smileytongue
What kind do you want?
Him: a long one... like a trench coat
Me: A cloak or a Spec-Ops Duster?
Him: like a trench coat.....
Him: I wanna look like Shaft
Me: (moaning to myself because I can see where this is going) Well its been awhile since Ive seen the movie but I would guess that would be a Spec-ops Duster
Him: ok if you say so...
Me: (dumb question but hey..its late) ok what color?
Him: Black ... I wanna look like Shaft
Me: ok I'll send you the wp to my shop and u can pick it up now
Him: k thanks
several mins pass as he travels
I meet him at my shop since I had it on me
Him: how much?
Me: *gives price*
we trade, I leave to run more missions...
2 mins later ... as soon as I get the missions and start to leave
Him: hey could you please make me a shirt too?
Me: what kind of shirt?
Him: black, I wanna look like Shaft
Me: yes I know u want to look like shaft, but I havent seen the movie in AGES and dont remember what he looks like...so what STYLE of shirt do you want?
Him: um...how many are there?
Me: about 150 (I said this so he would understand it wouldnt be easy and he'd have to work for it lol)
Him: oh...uh...um....
Me: Tell you what...take a look on my vendors and see if there is a style you like and I'll make one in black for you (thinking I could get away for at least one more round of missions before he needed me again *sigh* WRONG)
Him: what about the one your vendor is wearing...
(knowing he is a noob and wouldnt be able to afford alot I told him the price -- he was ok with it)
started crafting and got the inevitable ....
Him: hey I need some pants and boots and a belt too
Me: *sighing for not just sending him the email in the first place* what kind of pants?
Him: black ... I wanna look like shaft
Me: what kind of boots?
Him: black... I wanna look like Shaft
Me: (about to cry) what kind of belt?
Him: (yes you guessed it) black ... I wanna look like Shaft....
The Aftermath:
Needless to say we got it all worked out eventually lol and yes he did ask for a deal on the clothes....I gave it to him because he made me laugh....when we were done and he had everythinghe put it all on and said
NOW IM A BADASS!!!!
rofl yes he did...it was too cute and he was a sweetheart...could tell he was young...but hey, I made him happy and I really had no clue what Shaft looks like rofl.
And I still laugh when I think about him

The most commonly asked stupid question is:
"Can you make me some clothes?"
No, I wear this Master Tailor title to pick up guys.

Are you serious? Do you not believe in the beauty of diversity? I find imperfect characters (and people in RL) infinitely more interesting than the cookie-cutter ideal society has created. Gosh I hate superficial people - even in digital.

This one was froma guildmate - a nice guy, but still a wierd request...
"Hey ves! Can you make me one of your outfits?"
"Sure man... what do you need?"
"Something that shows off my new Master commando look!"
"piece of cake."
"oh, can you make 2 outfits so I can mix and match?"
"Sure." (I give him the price)
"Sweet!" (Promptly tips me twice that, my kind of customer)
Fine and good... THEN he says
"Now, I need another one."
"Sure - name it"
"Can you make me look pimp?"
So I made him a free pink pink and white spec ops duster and hired on of my friends to roleplay arresting him for pandering in full stormtrooper uniform. SO sick of hearing Pimp to mean cool.
Maybe it's a generational thing, or an American thing, but round here Pimp is not a word people tend to self-apply.
Otherwise, we're going to end up with SnoopWars Galaxies, and do we really want that?
