Ok so I had my first experience with a bad customer this weekend and i had two of them. Although compared with ya'll's stories they're really not that bad. One told me my prices were too high and yet proceeded to buy 4 custom ordered items from me and the other complained about the price of an item saying "_K for pants? i just paid _K for this stuff (3 items)" like i was supposed to give him something free because he bought stuff (not a repeat customer). I proceeded to tell him that prices aren't negotiable (as per advised on tailor forums) and he responded "prices are negotiable, you just won't negotiate them." I said Mine aren't, sorry to which he replied "what ever" (space intentional). I don't know what the guy was thinking but i am not a retail store having a sale. Just because you buy 3 don't mean you get one free. Especially when the items are custom ordered. Just my 2 cents.

Hell no, prices are not negotiable! I'm spoiled on TC - none of the "regulars" ever ask for a discount. Maybe the wall o' hawtpants intimidates them.

Can't you, as the correspondent, sticky this thread? I know somehow the smugglers did with their thread on their forum...

See, every time I read this, I just can't stop laughing. It reminds me of many customers I find.
I just hate the continual 'Make me something slutty/whoreish' requests I get from every person in coronet with a female avatar and at least novice entertainer... ![]()

My personal favorite:
Customer: "Hi someone told me you are an awesome tailor"
Me: "Umm thanks.."
Customer: "I need some clothes"
Me: "Yes, yes you do, what can I help you with"
Customer: "I want something to hunt in"
Me: "Ok, what colors did you have in mind"
Customer: "Whatever you think is good"
Me: "Pink and Yellow it is"
I love screwin around with people that don't take the time to even look inside my showroom that I spent hours on, so I wouldnt get such annoying questions

Hehe…me too.
Client: Make me something cool.
Me: Your definition of cool and mine may vary greatly—for instance, I think hot pink hot pants are cool.
They generally take the time to pick something after that

This happened the other night and gave me quite a chuckle.
[clueless] Excuse me? could you make me some pants?
[Me] Sure, what kind of pants and what colors would you like?
[clueless] I don't know, just something to hide these aweful looking pants I got on now that have +healing on them
[Me] You do realize that you can only wear one pair of pants at a time?
[clueless] U mean I can't wear pants over my pants?
[Me] No hun, you can't. I could make you a duster that will partially hide your pants. or I could remake your pants with the same stats.
[clueless] uh, no, I have skill tapes in these pants.
[Me] Why did you put skill tapes in your pants when you hated the way they look?
[clueless] These was given me.
[Me] Oh, I see. Well, would you like a duster to try to hide them?
[clueless] are you sure I can't wear another pants over these>
at this point I start banging my head repeatedly on the desk.
[Me] No, sorry, but you can only wear one pair of pants at a time, just like in real life.
[clueless] oh, k, thxs.
I still get the giggles every time I think about this.

So, I get this tell form a guy who said that I had come highly recommended as a tailor, and could I please make a set of BE clothes for him.
I replied that I was out of tissues and had no reliable BE to turn to.
He said that he had the tissues and all I need do was make the clothes for him....So I asked what he needed made and checked them against my schematics...none of the clothes items required crated cloth so I told him I'd do it, but warmed him that critical fails do happen and that I would not be held responsible for the tissues lost due to them. I also quoted my price.
He agreed with my price readily and asked if I could meet him at his workshop...he'd pay for the transport fees.
I agreed and legged it out to his shop (This was the days before mounts and vehicles...but it was also when I still has enough combat skills to ensure that if I had to run away, I atleast was going to do some damage while running)
I get to his shop, and everything works flawlessly...I show him the clothes and he's happy...then comes time to trade
I load up his clothes in the window...he starts putting crates of food in his side.
I asked "What's this?"
He says "I'm paying you in food."
"Coin of the realm if you please."
"It's all I have"
"You agreed on my price, what the *&^@ is this?"
"It's the equiveleant value" He states
I look at the food....2 crates of bofa treats and one crate of crispics "I don't think so!" I replied "Who did you say referred you to me?"
He replies with an familiar name, someone whose done business with me before.
"Just give me credits please"
"I don't have any" he replies
"Not even in the bank?" I asked
"No." Now this guy was living in a large house and had acces to some decent BE mods (Not great, but decent) But the house was unfunished (completely) so I cancelled the trade.
"What are you doing?" He asked amazed that I'm not going for his offer.
"I don't want that *%[email protected] can make it myself if I need to."
"Well can I have my tissues back?" He asks and I realized he's put me in a predicament, the tissue value was way more than the cost of the clothes, and he know that I just couldn't "extract" them...I was quite literally going to have to eat the cost (pun intended) of the clothes, so I traded back with him, and gave him his clothes took the damned food and left...completely ticked off and I added him to my ignore list.
Next day I get a tell from the guy who refered Mr. Food to me tellimg me that he told his friend about me and that he'll be placing an order with me soon....then asks for a quote for a special order of his own. I give him my quote (which was three times my normal price) and he says okay, do it. I open my crafting tool and make a pack, naming it ----'s Order and tell him it's done and he can pick it up off my vendor as I was about to log. In the pack I placed the three crates of food, along with his order. Placed the pack on the vendor and promptly logged.
When I next logged in, the pack was gone, and he even thanked me for the food.....

lol, I'm loving this stuff.
Anyhow, I have a story of my own, but this one made my day.
I make a guy a light blue and white Doctor's Dress, named "TKM ROBE."
The next day, I get another /tell from him, asking for the same thing, but with red insted of light blue. I figure, ok, no problem. Imake it, go to the AH cantina (where I practially live lol), and trade it to him.
Then his brother walks up (he told me who his brother was before, I like to talk to my clients
), and the guy goes, "I got your robe."
Nothing out of the ordinary about that, they put on their TKM ROBEs and then the first guy procedes to tell his brother, "this guy is GOOD."
lol, it just made my day

I had an interesting experience earlier. I was hunting on Dantooine, no buffs or anything, just a little recreation for a little break. Silly me, I left my tailor tag up. What follows is the hell I went through.
Customer: Hello.
Me: Greetings. Is there something I can do for you?
Customer I need cloth.
Me: Synthetic Cloth, or Reinforced Fiber Panels?
Customer: I need you to make me a schematic for some Synthetic Cloth.
Me: I don't make schematics, sorry.
Customer: But I can pay you alot!
Me: Once again, I apologize, but I make it my practice not to sell schematics.
Customer: Please! You are the only tailor on the entire planet!
(Note: At this time, I hit ctrl+p and run a search. I am one of three tailors, none of which are afk)
I continued telling him this, but eventually just decided maybe he'll stop if I agree, so I say, 'Sure, whatever, I'll make you your cloth, I charge 2k per 25 uses.'
(Since crates are 3k or so on my server, I feel this is a decent price.)
Customer: Fine, that works. I need 1,000 uses.
Me: Alright, can you possibly meet me at the mining outpost? (I am nearby)
Customer: No, that's too far, Come to me I'm at blah blah blah
Me: Are you sure it's not possible to come to the outpost? (seeing he is about 7.5k away, and not at all near any shuttles)
Customer: No no I can't.
Me: Alright. I assume you have x fiberplast and y inert petrochems for these?
Customer: No, I don't that's why you are making me a schematic!
Me: (angry now) So, you pull me away from what I am doing, expect me to travel 4km AFTER a shuttle ride to get to you, and then just hand you my hard-earned resources? You need to provide the resources.
Customer: Fine, I'll get them, but then schematic better be free!
Me: No, for 1,000 uses at 2k per 25 uses, it comes to 80k... (Keep in mind by this time, I could have made more than that doing Janta missions.)
Customer: No no no, I want it free! I am already paying for the resources!
Me: If I make schematics, anyoone can just pick one up and - Oooh! Look! They are a tailor too! - It doesn't work that way. An armorsmiths doesn;t sell the schems to his armor, nor a weaponsmith for his weapons. That is because they need to make a living! How is this any different?
Customer: Its different because I am giving you the resources!
Me: No, it isn't, I could offer them resources, but if they consented, they lose all business, because everyone else can suddenly make top quality stuff too! Heres how it is going to be. You want cloth? Go to my vendor at *coords* or my friend Mewwad's vendor at *coords*. You'll find cloth there.
Customer: (Here is the REAL funny part.) I'm busy, can you get them and bring them to me?
Me: No. Have a nice day, the vendor is stocked.
Customer: I'm telling all my friends never to shop from yoU!
Me: What friends? Oh, thats right... /addignore
I feel so much better though, knowing that I am not alone in my agony.

Im not too sure if im a lucky tailor or not...
I paraded through theed, showing off my master tailor title, i walk into the cantina, with about 30 people in there, i walk back to the starport, and go back to my shop, not a single tell, email, or anything on "i need clothes"
But then again, i have good stocked vendors, i live on one of the best shopping citys in the entire galaxy, im pretty sure im the only tailor in town, and i make no sales what so ever
My Architect friend that lives right next to me makes lots of sales per day at his home, on the same street as mine, and i make no sales, no one send me emails for custom orders... im still trying to figrue it out...
