Thread: Executioner's Hack: Updated
to put it simply if they put it in th egame like this people ar enot going to use it
between a choice on a Power Hammer vs Hack = Power Hammer
if creature has good blast resist Scythe vs Hack = Scythe
hands down this will not get used in it's current configuration.
I definitely sympathise with Pikemen, and I've helped out to get improvements to Pike weapons in the past.
However, I don't see your complaint validated.
The LVA while kinetic, is quite competitive with a Power Hammer. In PvP I'd say that it is preferable for someone without maxxed out skilltapes. I'd often prefer kinetic over blast damage in PvP. The DPS on the LVA is very nearly that of a Power Hammer and it is more acccurate (better ranged mods and Pikemen have better skill mods). Electricity damage is a fantastic damage for PvP as you are guaranteed that composite will have it as a special protection and the difference between an 80% resist and a 90% resist is double damage.
You have a very cool looking weapon that is not fantastic. I definitely think, given the powerful TKA weapon that is coming from Nightsister Vibro Units, that the NS Energy Lance deserves attention. However, at the same time, the NS Energy Lance DOES have a role for Pikemen. It provides powerful DoT's and it provides a third damage type. That's really all we're asking for here, SOME role for this weapon.
Whereas swordsmen now have two nifty schematics, one of them results from a quested only schematic. That means that this schematic will slowly disappear from the game as there is no renewable source for these (apart from repeatedly remaking characters and grinding to top hear combat skills). Meanwhile Pikemen at least have much better opportunities for obtaining powerful looted Pikes. The other new Swordsmen weapon, in its present form, has no role to play for us and is essentially wasted content. By the time you are able to obtain a schematic for this, you will never use it.
Don't get me wrong, I think Pikemen have valid concerns that should be looked at. I've rallied behind the cause to get NS Vibro Units made more common (or make drops more consistent), to get better ranged mods for Pikemen and to make the NS Energy Lance a more worthwhile weapon as well as validating that problems with block and hit3 should be looked at. However, I see Swordsmen as having equally valid concerns when it comes to their looted weapons and I think that cooperatively realizing that both professions have valid concerns is a much better way to go about this.

the scythe wont disappear completely Gabriel
i still have 4 in my posession, after finally having 1 crumble (the first one i got 1 week after the Geo lab was opened...lasted along time)
and theres still at least 6-8 member sin my guild who can get their hands on a schematic for me......thats like 16 more scythes
that could possibly be a years worth of scythes....and thats if i dont pick up others. I do not think the scyteh will readily disappear any time soon.
anyway the Hack needs to be changed dramatically or it wont be used, im sorry to say. It is definately not on a par with other weapons. Kinda liek warcry ever since the nerf...no one uses it
My fingers are sore from spamming hundreds of specials to knock down those Super Battle Droids (250k HAMs, heavy armor, although fortunately fairly tankable).

Well, since we've some attention, we'd better make hear our voice...before they forget we exist ("sword got a weap, next prof").
This weapon as it stands now don't really help us, and to say it frankly I prefer have nothing that this one (we got the scythe, youhou, every toons have one in hands, even if they've never been brawler...make me feel so...commun :/ After that, every non-swordmen toons will wield an Hack, and we will not if it's just "cool looking").
You guys have no idea how good you have it right now.
Again as I said in the last thread about this weapon. Congrats on yet another weapon that drops from a mob you can actually damage.
If a dev ever reads this post could you share the love just a little bit with the pikemen please. Thank you.
I did pikeman last week, I had some fun but I was disappointed...you need some love I fully agree but not on the same level as us (more on specials, but that's nothing news for you I guess

DarkBShadow, u said A LOT of new weps were coming out, and a Cloud wep was on the way. Where did u hear this? Do u kno wen they will be coming out, and wut will the damage and speed and AP be? Can u give more info plz, I REALLY REALLY REALLY would want a Cloud wep, since its a big sword, not a hammer.
the devs had announced that ALOT of weapons are coming out. and i believe we will see alot of these weapons during the combat revamp publish.
and about the cloud sword i said since we are going to get lots aof weapons i believe one of the swords will be like clouds blade a BIG a$$ blade that is. not actually clouds sword but a huge blade. just speculation on the big blade idea but still the possiblity that we will get one is a strong posibility and maybe they could have iut as the Mastery of our profession ![]()
speaking from a master pikeman/maser swordsman perspective.. theLVA may SEEM comprable to the power hammer, but when you add in damage mods on special moves it becomes the long forgotten stepchild to it, not to mention if it sticks a dizzy/kd you can't use pole hit 3 or it will stand them back up. and while i am still in favor of the swordsman getting new wpns and this new axe to possible be AP3 kinetic, i can certainly see where atimes is coming from considering that with the new VK's coming unless they up the spawn on NS's or make the vibro units drop off all NS's the energy lance will become even more extinct than it is right now

Well, I have three options on how this thing should look.
- If the schematic is added and crafted like the power hammer, it should be about what it is currently, but 160 to 280 damage.
- If the schematic is like the scythe, it needs to be200 to 280 damage with AP3 at speed 4.5.
- If the schematic is like the berserker rifle (all but impossible to get), it needs to be 300 to 350 with AP3 at speed 3.0.
As it is, it is not worth pursuing. The scythe is faster and does more damage. This is supposed to be a huge ax. It should swing slow and hit really, really hard. I would prefer the second option. AP3 is far more useful than cold damage.
