Hmmm, basically what everyone has asked for, would still put us at less strength than we were before the bleed and warcry nerfs. Were we gods then? lol

If you're going to whine, go do it on the rifleman boards, or some other profession board that isn't gimped like ours. You might as well be complaining about a bum asking for food on a street corner because you didn't get lunch today.

Fencer may have its problems, but you can't deny the fact that swordsmen also have many problems....a lot more so than fencer, in fact.

I never once said fencer had problems, I like it the way it is. It suits me just fine, damage wise, defense wise, and everything else. What you fail to realise is that every profession has it's pro's and con's. Fencer's have great defenses, low damage. Swordsmen's have high damage, low defenses. Each has it's purpose. Fencer was meant to occupy the mobs while Swordsmen were meant to kill them. There is plenty of fencers that want pretty much the same that you guys do, except they want higher damaging weapons and like you guys different kinds of weapons. Swordsmen want the higher defenses and still want thier damage output, if not more damage, that is pretty much wanting to add to your profession and not have any balance to it. That is not how the game was made to function. I'm sorry for all you power gamers that don't get everything you wanted. If you did, everyone would just be jedi's and there would be a pointless game. During the movies there wasn't that many jedi's to begin with, and towards the end there was only a few. If you want to be a god go play Black&White where you actually are a god. If you want to roleplay and know your role, then stick around and the revamp will fix a lot of things for all combat professions. I didn't come in here to flame any of you Swordsmen, I just wanted to let you guys know a few things. And by all means stop by the fencer's forums and look through a couple of threads you might be surprized at what you see.

We may deal good damage in PvE, but most of our gripes have to do with PvP, where we don't deal all that much damage at all, compared to other classes.

Firstly I have to say great idea and I loved the thread. May I suggest the we call this a Swordsmens 'Thrust' as this was the general move used to busted through armour by great swordsmen.


Secondly I've seen the threads from some the fencers about how we are the damage dealers and they the defenders. I'd firstly like to point out to them that most Swordsmen would agree with you, but when we have a lower melee defence than most ranged combatants a point has to be raised. And yes fencers are supposed to me a more defensive art, fencing is actually taken from the word fenceusedas short word for the art of sworddefence.


My next point ( which is something that is brought up by most) is that ancient swordsmen carried around with them a steel ton of a sword that was slow and hard to weld. This is a huge misconception, anyone that knows anything about medieval swords will tell you that the average long or great sword made during that period weigh around 3-6 pounds, thats only a couple of kilo's. A small child could weld one!!! So at know point should we be squbbeling about speed issues.Another point is that everyone believes because they were heavy weights of steal they could hack through armour, again this is false, this lead to the development of longer more pointed swords for thrusting and slicing instead of hacking and slashing.


Frankly my issues would be that are defence should be increase to be the superior to any range prof but still the lowest in the melee class. Leave the tanking to the polearms.


Get our bleeds back ffs...


Turning 'slicing' into 'Thrust' as above.


And maybe some swords that we could actually personalise... I hate having the same sword as everyone else. It maybe a sword that does the same damage as everyone else's but we could customise it or something.. ( just a thought for every melee profession )


O and a chance of a multi kd on area attack 3.. ( but that just a wish ) /smile

that's ridiculous. all melee profs get a measure of toughness (in fact Swordsman is tougher than Fencer)...it's the ranged fighters that need tanks

NM Kerosian.... i read your post wrong... Ruehs go whine on fencer forums.

anyways... I think bleeds should cause 1/2 the initial hit in WOUNDS... and increase the damage timer (at least in par with the new ham change) THis may help give bleeds (not just ours) some more utility

Accuracy and 2 hand melee toughness.


I actually like 2handspin2.


A dizzy OR knockdown would be nice. Its a little too much to ask for both.


Another damage type would be nice but only if the other brawler classes eceived another type also.

I actually do think that we should get greater speed. We are two handed swordsman, so we should be able to swing our swords very fast. I dont know about you guys, but I can swing the same speed as I can with 1 hand (rl) as i can with 2 (rl). Also, since we can hold big heavy swords, shouldnt we also get dual wielding? I dont mean wielding 2 heavy swords at the same time, just like 2 medium. Fencer doesnt need it cuz they are uber enough, smuggler should get it, and so should we. We also lack defense, to make up for our slow as heck speed. Why do we hav garbage defense and fencers who use puny swords have one of the best defenses in the game? I think a 20 lbs. swords can block better than a 5 lbs. sword. We also need a variety in our specials, right now they are all about the same and they arent that good. Make us better in pvp too, cuz we should be doing a lot moe damage than we currently are. Also, I was very disappointed with the scythe. Their max damage should be something like 500, not 300. That reminds me, since we have big heavy swords, our damage needs to be higher, like on average the weapons max damage should be about 600 or 700.Last thing is, we need more weapons, a power HAMMER shouldnt be a SWORDMAN's best weapon. We need a weapon thatdefines our profession, and sadly, a hammer does not.Well thats all I can think of now, if I think of anything else, I'll be sure to say it
