I will agree, Swordman needs some work, and some more changes will probably be made on TC in the coming weeks (this is just my assumtion, many professions have went through many changes over the last few weeks). The only PvP I do are duels, and I only duel other meleers. I have dueled Swordsmen, and they need work. However, Swordsman should hardly be the most feared melee profession. It should be strong, hence: weilding a powerhammer, various types of swords, etc., but not the strongest.

I'm anxious to see what the rest of the changes to the melee professions are. I must say, so far I am happy with the new TKA changes. The increased ranged defense helps out a lot. Now when an NPC tries to attack me they don't land 5 shots in a row for 250 points of damage each. They have the potential to miss.

I'm starting to see some potential in the melee professions, it can only get better.

As a former Master TK, and having a "brother" who is nearing Master Swordsman I can say that if Swordsmen do not win in PvP it is either because they couldn't close the distance to their enemy (an issue not specific to Swordsman) or their tactics are horrible.

I have fought several Swordsman before and lost every time because of 1 major factor...Mind Bleed. It can not be healed, and have been bled for up to 800 every tick.

My "brother" wins nearly every duel by Mind Bleeding and running away and/or chasing with only several more mind hits required (depending on whether opponent is wielding pets or not).

My experience as an outsider is that Swordsman have all the tools they need, just like the TK's, The only thing they lack is a knockdown, but master Brawler and they can have that as well.

Pistoleer - i've been hit with stopping shot for over 500 pts damage regularly in PvP, and at 1 shot per second that is way more than we'll ever do even with 2hand hit 3, our special we get at master. (BTW i've seen krayt pistols like the fwg5 with stats of 1.8 speed 300 max damage unsliced, none of our weapons even comes close)

I'm a master Pistoleer and only with a powered kraytFWG5 vs an unarmored target have i ever hit that much, and with it's 1.6 weapon speed, despite my speed bonus, stopping shot is still not even close to 1 second and this weapon cost 200k. I think your confusing BH/Pistoleer dabblers for a full out pistoleer. To be fair, however, melees do need a damage boost so they do stand a chance when they do actually catch a ranged user. As it stands in PVP, melees are just an easy kill.

TH!

Get your a** over to the CH-board and answer some of our questions! Please!

I'll ask the two most pressing ones right here...

1) +2 active pet at MCH. Can the second pet ONLY be a non-combat mount?

2) The new "rare" babies, are these EXTINCT pets such as the webmaster?

Lets look at this realistically.

You are a master swordsman standing 50 meters (~150 feet) away from me, and I have an AK47 sub machine gun. I don't care how good you are with that sword, if I spray you with a full discharge and hit you at least once you are going down no questions asked. If I miss you (Which won't happen if I am a master marksman), and you get to me then I will most likely go down with steel in my belly or my head lying next to my body. But, ranged is ranged, bullets fly really fast, lasers even faster. This is why the first armies to use truly modern weapons (Muskets) against melee won. You could have as many master swordsmen as you wanted in your army, but when that barrage of musket balls came flying down that mastery didn't mean anything more then the makeup of the structure you were hiding behind.

The real issue is not Swordsman related only I think...I think it is all Melee classes, and has to do with defense and "to hit" skills. Because as we have discussed time and time again, even with a pistol, running and gunning at a moving target is nearly impossible.

Damage wise I see the melee classes as being fine. It is the ability of ranged fellows to run at full tilt and fire rounds with nearly 100% accuracy over their backs at an incoming opponent.

So umm... how does being part BH have anything to do with damage output? A good DX2 comes close to a scatter in damage (tradeoff being lower HAM costs than Scatter). BH eyeshot/torsoshot don't do anything in damage compared to stoppingshot... and accuracy/speed mods don't do **edit** for damage. And frankly, if you're a Master Pistoleer with a nice weapon, you're still shooting at 1 sec intervals because the speed of pistols is so close to 1 compared to other weapons already, it doesn't take much speed skill to get it there, even with skill multipliers.

"TKA deals over 1000 haelth dmg... I know cause I continually die from one hit from them. "

umm... if you got killed in one hit in pvp by a tk, you got an unlucky for you high damage roll on the tk's part magnified by your rifle in hand (and maybe you were prone?!?!). Tk's can not one hit kill people.

Perks, your wrong at TKM my health hit does 400 dmg wiht no armor piercing 500 whith VK's but 200 ham cost and if you get one shoted by a tka you had to be holding a rifle or heavy weapon and probabley where knocked down.
