Your power hammer has a dps of 64, still not better than the 2 hand curved or the cleavers.

@Aramyr: exact the same reason for me to choose powerhammer. I cannot deal with high mind usage of my curved sword, but i can fight all day long with my powerhammer, using specials. All you need are few doctor buffs and a heal every minute or 2

ps: get some 30% health usage / 15% speed reduction powerups, they are awesome.

Its all a matter of use of course, we are just talking about base stats. If you do the dps per ham math, power hammer does not win, pure and simple. Just with base dps power hammer does not win. thats the real issue here. I myself favor a 2 hand curved with low ham (i don't care about damage as long as I can posture change i don't take damage from animals and brawling npcs') but I do need the speed to keep them on the ground.

Also another note, I would not judge the effectiveness of your sword based on buffs or heals or other external data. Hell I can get all hopped up on spice and tatooine sunburn and my moves actually heal me. We are talking about raw sword stats here.

How you figure?

Devla's Power Hammer is tied for the highest DPS, assuming Master Swordsman level.

We'd have to compare it's HAM vs the HAM of the cleaver to decide the ultimate winner.

If the cleaver has lower HAM then it's really a question of if you prefer kinetic damage or blast damage for the same DPS. If the power hammer has lower HAM then it's the best weapon for a Master Swordsman.

None of the veryfast weapons will be the winner when it comes to Master Swordsman, simply because of the 1 second minimum swing time.

I agree, I mentioned earlier I would like to see ham. dps per point of ham is the stat we really need. I myself only buy very low ham weapons. I don't care about dps. the skills more than make up for it if used correctly.

Also a note, i don't know if you know this but all moves have a time modifier, so they actually increase swing time, so even with a 70% mod a lot of the fast swords will still swing faster then 1 sec when doing a move.

i mean slower then 1 sec.

sorry, need a **edit** edit

an example (of course with no official word from devs, this is just a guess as to how it works):

area hit 1 time modifier is 1.5 (swgcenter.com)

speed on my sword is 2.4

this means move time is 3.9, reduced 70% equals 1.17

Also, the skill bonuses from Master Brawler and Skill attachments help a lot..right now I have:

2H Accuracy 110 + 34 = 144

2H Damage 0 +14 = 14

2H Speed 80 +4 = 84

2H Toughness 43

Berzerk 20 +1 = 21

Melee Defense 52 + 3 = 55

I dueled another Master Heavy Swordsman with the Hammer, using no powerups, and him using a nice 1.9 Speed 2H Curved, 61-241 damage. We used no Specials or Berzerk, just straight melee. I won with about 60% HAM leftover.

However, I dueled a Wookie TKA Master friend of mine the same way, straight melee, he beat me with about 20% of his HAM leftover.

I prefer the hammer versus humanoid type mobs. For instance, versus high level Force-Sensitive type mobs with 80% resistances and medium-high armor level, I go on Berzerk 2 and consistently hit with the Hammer for 600+ damage, up to 2000 or so. For overall average damage per hit versus the 2H Curved sword (I have one 80-318, 2.6) against mobs like this, the Power Hammer wins.

A 2Hlunge2 knockdown, a Mind hit bleed and then Berzerk2...stay a safe distance behind a pet and you're golden.

Definitely with no moves and cap in place the ph is the way to go. some of us use a lot of special moves though. i special move pretty much every swing. so my speed cap is not hit yet even with master techniques and a 2 hand curved.

...while talking about skill attachment....

sometimes i have problems to understand what their stats really mean...

....i have 2 attachments i am wondering about what they do....

Defense vs. Posture change (up): 1

and

Defense vs. Posture change (down): 1

Any ideas?

I don't know what the posture change (up) one means....as far as I know no profession has a "knockup" skill.

Unless they add Pimp to the profession lists, I think its fairly useless

Riflemen have a posture-up attack.
