Yeah, till one of those bastardized TKA/Commando templates walks up, dizzies, knockdowns, flames you, and then switches to knucklers and finishes the job =(

"So I swoop upon the foe, and I will slay,
I will hew them into pieces, I will dash them into dust;
Like Baal in his strength, on their rearward, lo! I fell,
And I killed them, none escaped me, and I slew, and slew, and slew."

Lucky hit I'd say - there's currently a bug that makes a meleer less likely to hit someone who's holding a rifle. But if it does connect and the rifleman doesn't have melee mitigation. I honestly don't know how much damage I can do in PvP because PvE I've rolled 8000 headhits, and in PvP the largest mindpool I hit in one shot was a wookie with 1200 mind.

I almost never use the powerhammer in PvP though, because it's innacurate and slow.

Not only is it balanced, but its not really a whole lot more than a rifleman can do. I have beenhit for 1k+ by rifleman in pvp.

Why would you expect the melee class to hit for any less?

Never had that problem, in pvp I use my speed sliced hammer (30%+ speed or so) it swing at about 3.6 without powerups and specials, I am a master heavy swordsman and I usually use health/speed powerups when pvping. It has a max damage of around 400 and I do one hefty mindhit when I go after targets with no helmets...

Even people with helmets usually take a pretty big bite, because it's rare that someone gets blast as a special protection on their composite.

I have the powerhammer hotkeyed with the two-handed axe. Now if you're fighting someone with 150+ melee defense you're giving them 180+ melee defense when using the powerhammer. So if I'm fighting a tka / fencer / rifleman I'm going to use the two-handed axe (+25 accuracy at all ranges).

Now if I see a bounty hunter or someone with low melee defense, I switch to the power hammer.

And yeah, in PvP it's easy to get hit for 1200+ by a T21's advanced strafe if you have no ranged mitigation, so if you were hit in the head for 900+ by a powerhammer, boo hoo.

You may want to reconsider that. According to a damage calculator I've used, as a Master Brawler/Master Swordsman, I can swing a 5.4 power hammer at 1.1 speed. I can do much more damage using a damage sliced PH.

Sup guys,

Ok This post is because of a Master Swordsman who burst ran on top of me. We were both overt, he was a Tranny and had on full composite, me I had nothing on and am human. I put a few mind bleeds on him 112 and 123, and was tryin to just stay back and pound on his mind. I got lazy and didn't notice he hit burst run on me. Well needless to say at about 10m he hit me for 915 to the mind!!!!! PvP Ok I do know that he had a +4 Two Handed accuraccy mod. I did have a T21 in my hands, but 915? Is it me or can Swordsman do this on a regular basis to the right people (excluding those with huge melee defense and mitigation). I'm also a Novice Swordsman and notice that for a novice I can hit for huge, and can't wait to level up. Just ring in with thoughts, stories, whatever I just want to hear from some Master Swordsman and what there thoughts are.

if you did not have a helmet on i can definately believe he hit you for that much. I have gottent he occasional BLEED for 700 or so if the guy wasnt wearing a helmet.

By the way....a rifleman can hit for that much or much more on an unarmored opponent......just a thought

Ok, a quick wake up call -

Last night my home city got hit by Imps who were ALL flava-of-the-month Rifleman/Fencer/TKA Lets just say that against a TKM/Fencer/Soldier (Rifleman) you will hit about .0001% of the times you swing. Granted because of buffs, armor and wise use of food/spice the guys took a hearty 10 mins killing me - his friends didnt have a problem. So, before you praise Swordsman into the grand thing we arnt - consider what Rifleman are able to do at 64 meters away:

- up to 6000 mind dmg per shot (saw 5 or 6 of those)
- DB
- Dizzy/Stun using Stun dmg that ignores your helmet
- Melee Defense of like 300 when holding a rifle (pretty nuts)

needless to say until a rebel CM showed up we (several MBH, TKM's, Carbiners, 4 Swordsmen and a handful of Commandos) were getting raped in every laser punched hole
