you need 1,275,000 jedi xp in order to get all +12 melee speed... at the current rates of 30>1 weapons xp to FS and 3>1 combat xp to FS, that is gonna take a while... not to mention the fact that it IS a phase 2 quest so if you dont have any free unlocks you're outta luck for 3 weeks...
It is very worth it to buy 2h speed, why? because the best pvp templates require every single point you have, and if you have +15 or +20 in attachments that's 4 skillpoints you have to do a complete template... I.E. i'm a Mswords/Mbrawler/Doc 4-0-3-0, and i have 1 skillpoint left... now, if i dropped down to 4-0-2-0, i'd have like 5 extra points, but i wouldn't have enough med use to use my AOE poison/disease cureBs and my normal poison/disease cure Bs.
it all depends on what you do ingame...

Thanks for the info. I have been holding all my cash thinking i didnt need the speed attachments.

From what I have read about what happened on TC, if you have so many professions etc and you get so many skills you can automatically unlock, you go to a guy in the village and open one tree at a time. When you open that tree, you get enough xp to fill that tree, ie 1,250,000 or something. You must then immediately go to the trainer of that tree and use up the xp before you go unlock any other tree. Reason for this is 1,250,000 or whatever, is the xp cap and if you unlock more than one without using up all the xp you get given, the second xp given will dissapear as you already capped. So basically, if you have some trees you can unlock you should get the whole tree if you don't mess up.
This was apparantly the way it worked on TC but whether that is the same system that is live now is another matter as nobody can get in the place to find out yet.

I have Combat Prowess: Melee Speed IV now. You can read my guide on Aurilia in the TC forum for more details on how you get that. It appears to be working. I haven't run any extensive tests but when I take off some of my skill tapes I am still capped.
So, yes, this is a new way to get your speed bonus up there. You'll still want master brawler and/or some tapes though to get the get full capped for some of our better specials.

For 4 points this is very well worth it (especially since since I have mastered 29 professions and have almost all the POI's and badges 
)

I just got visited by the old man, Ive done 26 professions so I should get the melee speed tree right off the bat hopefully

The best part about the FS melee speed is that you won't ever lose it unless you drop the boxes. They just implemented hit points on ubese shirts and bandoleers so if you attach a nice speed attachment to those chances are they will eventually decay (assuming they have/will fixed the 0 hit points but still working bug). It does take a bit work(grinding) to get the four boxes but will be well worth it. I'm currently at +9 FS melee speed and can tell a huge difference.

You can bonuses with FS lot but you would definetely need them after combat rewamp.
Heard that at least speed will be lowered.

Just to let you guys know i have Novice Combat Prowess which i got on arrival at the village, i have mastered 4 profs and never bothered with holos.
