Once you realize that your pets fight for you, you'll wonder why you bother having a melee combat class.

I'm working on it. Almost done with all my TKA dabbling, then I might go onto fencer stuff.

The problem with comparing Melee professions and CHs is that they are all frequently changing...

I am 0301 2HS and 2100 CH, 3340 Brawler 1030 Medic...I have no idea what it's going to be like after the COB changes, perhaps melees will actually be the primary tanks of the game, instead of critters. But until then, I am using my Greater Sludge to tank for me, because I can do Huurton Stalkers with him doing the work, I cannot so much as kill a Huurton Stalker solo.

I HIGHLY recommend master brawler. I can not stress this enough! You can't knock down with any 2-handed weapon until master brawler. Intimidate2is very useful and usually lasts for the entire combat. Warcry 2 is sick and wrong (I mean that in a good way!)and the extra 5 to toughness is a must have for swordsman because they have the lowest toughness of any of the melee's to begin with. I can see no reason not to go master brawler with swordsman other than lack of points...or sense.

This is true. I have beena Master Swordsman for months, and just picked up Master Brawler a week ago. I'm kicking myself for not doing it earlier!

I'm a Master Brawler and Master Swordsman. I can solo pretty much any mob out there that doesn't have too much kinetic AND blast. I was killing Rancors last night like this: Lunge2, Warcry2, Mind2, Intimidate2, Head3 til dead. If for some reason the fight went on too long (alot of misses or whatever) you can lunge2 and warcry2 again. It works so good it almost feels like cheating.

As you can see, without Master Brawler, this would be absolutely impossible. Lunge2 makes Warcry2 work alot better, then they stay down for 20 seconds, time for you to get off a few hits, and even heal if you want. During the 20 seconds they are lying down you can apply any state effect with ease (intimidate is the best, but dizzy is good for NPC's.) Master Brawler is the single greatest tool in any elite brawlers arsenal.

I recommend getting some Bio-Eng'ed clothes that give the +14 to warcry and intimidate though, since warcry2 cost about 150 and you don't want that missing too many times, especially when you're killing rancors.

also as far as pvp warcry is useless.......

if you stand still while you cant move for 20 seconds youre a goddamN3d moron who doesn't deserve a powerhammer

RUN AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAY YOU FOOLS!!!!

haha it never ceases to amaze me the people who stand still for 20 seconds just cuz youre a brawler.

its like being in a real fight and standing there while a guy punches you for a few "free hits".

it isnt kiting either because you do come back in 20 seconds later and mind bleed the f00ker.

anyway.

warcry isn't a big deal to me since im a wook and have a nice one as it is.

the only good one i'd want is lunge 2.

but two riverside sulfar mynocks beat lunge 2 anyday and twice on sundays.

after i send them in to harass a BH/Commando i can pull out my 2-1b and heal, pick my fur, or eat a ration or two while i walk up to them.

burst run is also nice.

the little bit of spd is ok too.

Haun, dont confuse PvP with 1on1 duels.

Warcry might be "useless" in a duel (Even though a 20 second delay is CLEARLY not "useless")...

..But when you and your group are facing multiple opponents in PvP, a 20 second delay on one of the BH's, Commando's or CM's could save you and your team mates alot of bother (from eyeshot, fire, poison, etc).

Another good thing about warcry 2 is that it is an AE move. While doing mokk missions on dantooine I have delayed all 3 mokksand the lair for 20 seconds when warcry 2 worked. So, not only could you delay that BH or commando, but both of them and any anyone else who is in close proximity to them.

You appear to have missed my point completely. I was talking about its advantages in PvP, not 1v1 duels.

Just because they're out of range of MY melee attacks, dosn't mean they're out of range of my Pistoleer/Carbineer/Rifleman/BH/Commando friends attacks.

Besides, who's to say you're going to use Warcry as a purely offensive move?

I might not want to attack after my warcry. I might delay my opponent so I can retreat in safety without getting kited.

Can someone help me with definitions?

What is "AE", and what is "dot" ? I see these referenced often, but can't figure out what they mean in context.
