hmm maybe a sith sword? sith swords were almost as powerful as light sabers

dude i had a weapon proposal for a sith blade that you just described. i even had it broken down into 2 things a looted schem and a looted blade no reason that could change to be a hilt blade and unit that are combined to for the weapon.

We need a sword. A REAL sword. If it's a quest to get, fine. More fun for me. If it's hard to get, kewl. More fun for me. If u can't use it until u are a master swordsman, all the better. More fun for me. The stats don't need to be high, the damage dosen't need to be outrageous, or a wierd type (I like the heat idea though) but it DOES need to be AP3. If swordsman are the heavy damage dealers of the melee world (and all of u know, we are) then we should get AP3 to live up to our potential. But this is just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Heheh would make it so much better to be a swordsman if we had a SWORD that was awsome wicked good. The 2h curved is good for grinding but thats about it. The scythe is uber cool, but its not the bestest. Really need a good sword.

I'd really like to see master quests for each master combat prof, the end result being a very nice weapon. Not an easy quest mind, and the pre-reqs for running it would be master and maybe a 300k combat xp. Along the quest you could get skill attachments, or increase your mods, and in the end a really nice weapon (untradable). I havent played a lot of combat profs and I dont participate in their forums, but it seems swordsmen really go for the "uber" sword type thing. Not just a damage dealing weapon, but something hard to get, something epic, something that distinguishes themselves, something that puts swords into a martial ART, that is pursued, earned, and felt. I dont really look forward to the FS quests as a way to augment professions, I think I should be able to be a better swordsman without it. Basically I want my months of playing as a swordsman to add up to something. XP has always been the scale at which we rate how good we are, but then you cap, and what next?
I never played EQ and not into the dungeon fantasy stuff, so that is not where I am coming from. The sword is such an integral part of combat, even in our modern army it is still kept as a ceremonial item. Masters of a martial art have such deep respect and commitment to their art. It would just be nice for us to be able to further explore our profession. I mean musicians get cantinas at master, cant we get something?
BTW, great story in the original post.

I like the story and the idea.
The truth is, I think we need something with a new dmg type like this, but also a nice enhanced version of the 2h curved. It doesn't have to be curved. Just a 2h sword with stats on par with with the PH. That way we can run around with a good weapon that isn't a rock on the end of a stick.

Yes i think every profession should have some ultimate goal item
(but in my head i wish there was some sort of way to customize there look, wiether it be color shape outward partical effect somthin)
As for the quest itself i would like to see the whole quest as a solo journey, no groups or partners. Perhaps each mission works like Corvette where you enter a area thats souly for you. I am imagining entering lost temples or caves to find the relics of the "Nameless Blade" and not just hack/slashing mobs(though that is fun) but how about a SOME R
