Ok so getting buffed is a keyword here i see.....
Maybe a stupid question, but how to advance most effective without buffs?
any suggestions to that?

If Im not buffed I generally make sure my mind pool is buffed with vasarian brandy and/or muon gold. I also dont spam specials when unbuffed. You can still do pretty good damage output with auto-attack so that isnt a big problem. The big thing is to have some 70+ kinetic armor so you can tank much easier. At least having novice medic and using stim Bs to heal helps a ton.

It took me forever to get anywhere close as well. Then I figured that I needed some other sort of income to make money to buy armor, so I took up scouting and med. Once I got enough money to buy armor, it's been actually kinda fast.....that is with playing maybe 3 nights a week, 3 hours/night. Once I Master Pike, which should happen over the weekend, I should be rather close to mastering sword (in about a week or so). Here's hoping the combat revamp improves the defenses on those two, cause I will then KICK #$%!

get a mount (not a veichle) and go to lok, group withthe mount (for the exp bonus)and go hunting for kusak. just learn how to lure them one or two at a time. they dont generate missions, and sometimes it may take a while to find a lair (usually dead logs) but they are worth the exp.

i didnt use them untll long after i had mastered swordsman/master brawler. but i did use them to level up the defense tree in pikeman, and get 4/3/0/4 tka, and 2/4/4/0 fencer (wanted all the defense bonuses i could get from the three other melee classes, as well as meditate from tka )

Leveling any elite combat prof required the following:

1. Buffs

2. Good kinetic resist armor

3. Spend some time on adventure planets (Dantooine, Dathimor, Lok, Yavin)

Do all of these a couple hours a day and mastering a elite profession should take about 3 weeks as casual gamer and a few days as a hardcore player.

I JUST got MHS FIVE days ago. I have been hunting buffed, with 74% ubese, a good PH 200-600 damage 5.4 speed and a surved sword, and it took me that long. HOW IS IT POSIBLE TO DO IT IN 2 DAYS????? IT TOOK ME 8 MOUNTHS PLAYING 15 HOURS A WEEK.HOW?????

One example would be (not 100% correct numbers):

Prep by getting buffed(this one is important and you will make the money back in one mission anyway)andsome armor (mabari or chitin will do). Ubese and composite is overkill really atleast when you get past novice since you kill so fast.

Also go buy enhanced vasarian brandy (+400 to all mind stats for 45mins). Use one, but if you see your mind pool constantly get drained drink two at a time, and for those really crappy situations have a muon gold ready for emergency use (the downer will slow you down some though).

Dantooine mining outpost is your center hub. Buy a pet or droid, group it and tell it to staysomewhere in the mining camp, this will net you approx. 15% more xp.

1 Lair of savage quenkers = 3.5k per critter, 4k for lair, average of 5 critters per lair (sometimes babys spawn) = 21,5k xp

2 Missions per run on dantooine (get missions < 1000m from wherever you start in the same direction) = 43k xp

One lair should take tops 5mins at novice and 5 mins travel time (prolly less, but for simplicity) = 15mins

So 43*4 = 172k xp per hour.

Once you get an area attack, target the lair and bash away, critters will come defend and get hit by you too = One lair in 1minute (can be less xpdue to critters dont have the time to spawn before lair explodes) 35k xp total= 7mins per 2 mission run.

35 * 8 = 280k xp per hour.

3800k xp required for master swordsman (assuming you have two-handed 4) = about 13-15 hours.

Rinse and repeat

I would like to say that i do everything that you say on there, while fighting the quenkers i have hardly ever been incappasitated, and i could kill them realy fast and get about 3k xp for each 1, i did this for almost 8 months and i just now mastered swordman? am bugged or something? your saying i could do it it in 1 week, but it took me 30 weeks

It's hard for me to believe that you are following that template exactly if it took you 30 weeks to master swordsman. I play on average about 4 hours a night and ground out swordsman in this manner described above in under 2 weeks with time taken to squish rebels, maintain harvesters, and do general game overhead.

On average, i'd make around 3900 xp from savage quenkers and was able to set a very reasonable goal of one - two boxes a night for swordsman.

I'm currently doing the same for TKA and will be doing it again for Carbineer. The whole process (from now) should take about a month.

IN a total of 8 hours grinding i went from no brawling skills to Novice brawler, to then novice swordsman with 0-0-1-2

Finsing creatures you can solo and misisons you can solos is the advantage taking advantage of the skills you have will do it.

Mainly i went to dantooine and fought quenkers and pickets the entire time while buffed with good advanced ubese armor and good weapons.

lkast night i played for 2 hours and leveld a gain now 1-0-1-2 in swordsman and i have to say area attack is the way to go after that i made 34k xp in 3 minutes killing quenkers.

Plan to go hit Endor for the Jinta ritualist cave to master as soona s possible.

Total time invovled grinding from novice brawler 10 hours so far. i probbaly could have done better had i gone tot eh jinta cave sooner and gotten area attack sooner but i wanted the defensive stack first for a little added help.

XP here i come.

Arno, you have TWO pets and it stil took you that long? Dude, get buffed, get high Kin resist armor, target the lair and use your best area attacks, watch how quick you get xp. Everything and their brother inside that lair will come out and attack you, but then again, youll be hitting each and every one of them. Once you start geting a lot of corpses, switch to targetting a sinlge creature while using area attack.....youll see.
