I am new to SWG(three weeks) and have been playing Swordsman for about two weeks. I havent gotten further than 0-2-2-1. I keep reading that many of you have gotten way further that that in just a couple of days. How do u do that? I cant yet clean out a single whisper bird nest without having to rest at least once to get my HAM bars up sufficiently(im not buffed).
Any tips would be appreciated

Well...I think you have partly answered your question...get a good set of buffs before you go out. Also, decent Ubese armor would help.

Whatever the cost of buffs, you more than make it up by the increased rate that you can complete missions if creditsare a concern.

buffs, good armor, and tuskens. If you dont like tuskens hurtons (sp) on dant are good to take.

Buffs, are required for any hard core leveling in my opinion, in fact I would go as far to say, its really not worth not having buffs. Dont bother going to the Tuskan Fort....far too busy most of the time. Buff, grab some drugs, and go to Dath as soon as you feel strong enough to do so. Most of the enemies their will give you 3 to 4 to 5k exp...and theres lots of em.

Mostly people pla 24/7 lol. But you can definantly lvl afew boxes within afew hours. Like everyone else says buffs are needed, especially armor. I suggest you do grouped Rancor hunting, lots of fun, you meet new friends, and you will definantly lvl a box or two.

I never buff, I just go to naboo find a spitting rawl lair and whack away, oh, u must get a area attack first. They give 4k exp a peice, i got 450k in an hour last night.

A decent set of buffs. I prefer long duration of the buffs and high regen stats over high of the other stats. I can live with 1800 health if I have over 3K in con.

Brandy for the mind. I wouldn't double dose, but a single shot is good for most hunting in the wild.

Good set of high kinetic resistant armor. Chiten, ubese, or comp. In that order.

A cheap MSE droid to lower group level and give you the group xp bonus.(50 to 100 credtis on most servers. If you're on Tempest, contact Hicobaja and I'll give you one for free.)

Go to Dant and run savage quenker missions. Kill any huurton stalkers that you run across. When you get the missions, go to a small player city, group with the droid, and pick the missions unarmed. You should get the missions within 600m of the terminal before the jump.

I would also use a two hand curved sword until you finish the speed tree. And grinding missions, probably stick to it anyway as you can swing it at cap. Something most hammers can't do.

I had some free time yesterday and decided to see what I could do.. I got buffed up and went to dantooine. The wild meat there is very good right now and I wanted to collect as much as possible so I took Huurton Huntress missions. I slaughtered them as fast as possible, and on the way to and from the missions I stopped and also killed any wild lairs/spawns (not mission spawns)

I filled in 8 boxes of swordsman in under 8 hours. Going from 0-3-0-0 to 2-4-3-2. We have some massive damage output so getting exp is really not a problem if you can get buffed up.

Grouping with a low level pet/droid helps out a lot. Case in point; when I was running giant baz nitch lairs ungrouped I'd get 4200 per critter whereas grouped with my level 10 carrion spat I would get 4900-5000 per critter.

One example would be (not 100% correct numbers):

Prep by getting buffed(this one is important and you will make the money back in one mission anyway)andsome armor (mabari or chitin will do). Ubese and composite is overkill really atleast when you get past novice since you kill so fast.

Also go buy enhanced vasarian brandy (+400 to all mind stats for 45mins). Use one, but if you see your mind pool constantly get drained drink two at a time, and for those really crappy situations have a muon gold ready for emergency use (the downer will slow you down some though).

Dantooine mining outpost is your center hub. Buy a pet or droid, group it and tell it to staysomewhere in the mining camp, this will net you approx. 15% more xp.

1 Lair of savage quenkers = 3.5k per critter, 4k for lair, average of 5 critters per lair (sometimes babys spawn) = 21,5k xp

2 Missions per run on dantooine (get missions < 1000m from wherever you start in the same direction) = 43k xp

One lair should take tops 5mins at novice and 5 mins travel time (prolly less, but for simplicity) = 15mins

So 43*4 = 172k xp per hour.

Once you get an area attack, target the lair and bash away, critters will come defend and get hit by you too = One lair in 1minute (can be less xpdue to critters dont have the time to spawn before lair explodes) 35k xp total= 7mins per 2 mission run.

35 * 8 = 280k xp per hour.

3800k xp required for master swordsman (assuming you have two-handed 4) = about 13-15 hours.

Rinse and repeat

i masterd pike in2 days, i should master swords too. the thing that u need to do is grind thats all, dont let anything stop u.

Heres what i did for pike doing the same for swords. First go to dantooine, get a buff and make sure u got some armour. then take 2 missions or hurtton huntress or savage quenkers. Then do those misssion for the whole day. without any delays you should master it in a day or 2. depends how much u play per day.
