Arno, you have TWO pets and it stil took you that long? Dude, get buffed, get high Kin resist armor, target the lair and use your best area attacks, watch how quick you get xp. Everything and their brother inside that lair will come out and attack you, but then again, youll be hitting each and every one of them. Once you start geting a lot of corpses, switch to targetting a sinlge creature while using area attack.....youll see.
I alrdy said iAM buffed and use 74% armor, i use area attacks on quenkers and yes it STILL took me that long

There is nothing wrong with it taking that long to get master. You proably had more fun than alot of the grinders. I'm currently grinding swordsman, but not doing it because I have to, but because I want to. I love swinging my acklay bone hammer in a big circle and watching the pickets fall. But I have gone from novice brawler to 3-4-1-3 swordsman since Monday. And thats only playing around 3 hours a day. I really don't have much dead time when combat grinding on Dant, and thats what gets alot of people.

This is just my two cents, Dant is a great place to hunt but i think people over look other great exp gaining creatures. The torts on talus are not to hard and give me about 50 to 60k a lair, and i can handel those with out buffs. Also if u do have a full set of buffs get the sharnif missions on corellia they pay 13k but take a little longer to kill, each sharniff gives about 3500 to 4500k exp but they take a little longer to kill so time might be a factor there. The only problems is that u need to be grouped to get these missions, what i do is group with my atst and leave the atst grouped for greater exp. if u don't have an atst as to group with a freind that can help u get these missions. its just another alternative other than dant

Arno,
If you're buffed, you really are doing something wrong. I'm new to Swords, but not to the game.
I was just novice sword 0.0.0.0 (1000xp on top of the box) when i headed to dantooine. With a +/- 65% ubese and buffs, i made 0.1.2.1 in sword within the 2.5hours of the buffs duration.

Just to point out, when you take missions, the lairs don't have as many creatures as lairs that spawn in the wild.
Endor is a good place to level since there are so many natural lairs out there. Get buffs, a decent set of ubese, and maybe even some vasarian brandy. Don't bother getting missions...just go exploring and attack any lair that you run across.
The best strategy is to area attack the lair...you end up hitting all of the creatures that come out also.

I agree with good buffs you can get levels pretty fast. I got some buffs and some really crappy mabari armor and went to Dant with 2-handed III and made it to Novice Swordsman in no time fighting quenkers. Got Swrodsman went back and am now 0/1/1/1 and very close to getting another box. The main thing though and although I feel like the above equation is correct, it doesnt figure in all the time put into to getting around and buffing. I spent an hour last night looking for buffs and another hour just dealing with tells and people in my guild. SO there are alot of things to consider. Working out of Coronet is nice because that is one of the best places to find buffs on most servers, and on occasion I find docs at the mining outpost on Dantooine to renew your buffs. Things always seem to take longer in this game than you expect though.

agreed, if you're an Imperial and have an AT-ST, bring him out and group with him at the imp outpost on dantooine. Start looking for huurton huntress missions or quenker missions.
When you find two that you like, store your AT-ST and head out to the first mission.
What you'll notice off the bat is that each mission jumped from a lvl 27'ish mission all the way up to a lvl 95 mission. You'll also notice that instead of 2 quenkers at the lair, there'll be five. Now, you should be drooling at this point.
If you left a pet or droid at the outpost, you'll rack up around 3900 xp for each quenker you kill. 5 quenkers per level of lair destruction is 20 quenkers overall. At 3900 xp a pop, that's 78,000 xp even without killing the lair which will give you well over 80K for each mission you do.
lets say you're at 3/3/3/3 of whatever profession you're trying to master.
Let's also say it takes you about 15 minutes to clear a lair. this is a very conservative estimate as most lairs of this nature will take minutes to clear.
at 15 minutes per lair, you'd need 3 sets of missions to gain one 450K 4th tier box in any elite profession. This is easily done in one set of doctors buffs (somewhere near 2 hours).

Our other professions help a lot too.. such as borrowing melee defense and melee mitigation from master TKA..
Also, having 80% kinetic/64% rest composite doesn't hurt and some medic skills, and some muon gold/brandy/ormachek (sp?).
Getting buffed will help. I don't bother with it, but being a master TKA I power boost anyhow so I don't really need it.
Most importantly, don't worry about how fast everyone else is progressing, just play at your own pace and have fun.

Ive gotten almost all my sword exp while harvesting meat. The first set of meat was 45cpu and now the new avian naboo meat on Eclipse is fetching like 200 cpu. Can't wait to get home, even if im not getting killer sword exp, the credits are unbeatable.
