one this was a test concerning the FOOD which is know to not e working properly atm
second if ranged def worked against melee and ranged weapons when using a ranged weapon WHY WOULD A RANGED ONLY PROFESION OFFER MELEE DEFENSE you conclusions are unsubstantiated , uneducated and just plain WRONG wake up and get a clue B4 u try to flame me

You may be correct. I'd suggest we all go test this a little with and without foods. Galaxies players tend to jump to conclusions and go with the group mentalitiy easily. I'm not sure who's correct in this case but I think I need to do some testing on my own. This is a fairly complicated, and sometimes notvery intuitive,combat system. For me to really be convinced I'm just going to have to see it myself...
The thread started with testing the melee and ranged food buffs but if you read further you'll see that they discover this to be true for SEAs and then on page two also for the overall defense mods.

This would be the problem, it is basing the defense checks on the attacked.player.weapon instead of attacker.player.weapon.That is oversimplification but most like what is happening and a swithc should be made to base the defence calculation off of the attacker's weapon instead of the attackee's weapon.Probaly a typo erro or cut and paste error in the code that handle the calculation

Aye... that's the one thing where Commandos currently are great at... transforming single target states into area states. ![]()

ooooh yess, and it is glorious
Nothing pleases me more than a pack of rooted jedi twiddling their thumbs while they're picked off one by one...
This is really the biggest, if not only, strength of commando right now: the ability to make any states from specials aoe.
I'm not sure if the rocket launcher works for this though. Try the PFT and the acid stram launcher I believe.
