Our Deffense Mods should be Better Stand Alone... but lowered when jointed with a Rangers Camp, why? Ranger Camp gives Healing Mods...

Correspondent, take note of this thread!

it looks like the correspondent already took note of this thread very early on and has dissmissed it because the orginal idea was to give us camps. but since that time we have developed a much better idea then was originaly sugguested. i will send a private message to the correspondent and see if i can get him to take knotice of these new ideas.

i also like the idea of uniting all the professions, but i still belive that SL should get a fortificaiton kit that we can use either alone, or in combinaton with camps. if a camp is required for fortifications to be used then it makes Rangers the more importaint then the other professions. our goal is to give our profession a large improvement, and if we are dependant on rangers to use these improvements has anything really been improved?

Stand Alone Fortifications, and the Ability to Fortify other peoples camps with their permission, works for me.

me too. perhaps combining camps and fortificaitons could be implimented this way:

if a SL tries to deploy a Fortification while standing inside a camp a window pops up saying "Would you like to apply your fortifications to this camp?" and the SL can choose yes or no, if they choose yes a similar window is sent to the owner of that camp, unless the SL is the owner that says "<incert name of SL> would like to apply fortifications to this camp, will you accept?" and the camp owner is given the option yes or no. if the camp owner says yes then either a) the fortifications are added around the camp, or b) the camp is disbanded and a new fortifed camp or base appeears in its place. the second options might be easyer for the devs to impliment, but either way works for me.

First allow me to say I can tell most of you play SL ingame.... it's a a rare breed to play a SL since we are a 100% support char in game. I love this idea, also like the ranger add on idea.

I would like to say we as a SL we support the group it make sence that we should be able to help protect the group and give the group bonuses in several ways.

I'm good with making the SL do the final craft but even forcing other classes to privide items. As a military leader I don't make all the equipment I just bring it all together. ie if there are pieces from an ARCH required (wall sections) and if it has none- semi hvy (commanded needed to use them) arms built in weaponsmith and/or have a droid eng make computerized def droids to fire the weapons. That will makecrafting more like the other professions where you have optional upgrades to customize it for each need. This would force the SL as he already does to bring togethera group and together combat their enemies.

The ranger camps are near to being useless as it is now, giving SLs a "fortification kit" that is essentially the same thing as a camp is ridiculous. If SLs make the modifiers that are used in ranger camps, thats fine with me. Only point in making a camp right now is to reduce downtime, which is already reduced because all groups that make using the Ranger camps worthwhile (costs to make the camp) travel with doctors that come with their own stims or buy them. Plus all doctors have close to max focus/willpower (whichever increases regen i forgot)so downtime is already reduce from that, making a camp just scenery. People always come in and say "cool camp" when i set my camp up, but they only stay to admire the size of it and the looks, never actually use it. I really only set em up to hear the "cool camp", it almost (keyword: almost) makes the time to get the camping xp and requirements for making it worthwhile. On second thought, no it doesn't I'm about > < that close to dropping fronteiring as it is. Not to mention Rangers require a WHOLE profession to get to where they are, not just one line that comes along with leveling the combat professions. I completely agree that SLs need something to make the profession line worthwhile (I was the first SL on Intrepid, dropped it cuz of its uselessness) but camps are not the answer.

Miller, Perhaps you did not read the post, Reread most of it, especially the lower half of the first page and second....

It will become clearer, we do not want camps, we want Combat Fortifications....

Simple as that...

um any of you guys ever been on a battlefield before or read chapter 16 of the online manual? Artisan professions can use a /battlefieldstructure command that allows you to make several types of walls a storm trooper barracks and turrets... kinda what we are talking about here with a bunker just not usable every where.....
