Um....let's recap here:
1) The SL community's consensus is that the "new skills" are largely things that we can do already. We don't want these "skills" and would rather have things that actually have an effect.
2) You are including a suggestion/complaint about lack of color in the /sysgroup command when we already can do color quite easily. Your defend this by saying that "not everyone understands hex". Not everyone understands the /follow command and yet we say that we don't need a command that forces them to follow. Not only do people not fully understand the /assist command, but it's sorta broken...yet we, on the whole, say that we don't need a /groupAttack command. I'll tell you what....I will post here all the hex numbers you need for a large number of colors. We can add it to the FAQ. We can point people to where they can find more colors defined on the web. I will give a quick and easy tutorial on hex.
Hex:
This is a base 16 numbering system. What does that mean? Instead of numbers going from 0-9 (base 10 numbering system...the one most humans use since they have 10 fingers) numbers go from 0-f. 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, a, b, c, d, e, f. So, the number 0F in hex is 15 in base 10. The number 10 in hex is 16 in base 10...20 in hex is 32 in decimal. To translate hex to decimal:
base 10 = 16*(the number in the hex second place) + (the number in the hex first place)
Hex RGB colors:
The first two hex digits are two digits defining how much red you want in your color...the second two are for green, the last two are for blue.
If you don't want to worry about the math you can use the following table of color definition in hex:
- White - #FFFFFF
- Gray - #A9A9A9
- Black - #000000
- Dark Blue - #00008B
- Bright Blue - #0000FF
- Dark Green - #006400
- Bright Green - #00FF00
- Red - #FF0000
- Fuchsia - #FF00FF
- Acquamarine - #66CDAA
- Cyan - #00FFFF
- Yellow - #FFFF00

Play around with the colors you use...experiment. I have found that different hues work better on different planets (different background colors). It's easy and takes just a few seconds of effort to find something that is unique to you and works well.
It is only going to weaken our case with the DEVs if we ask for something we already have.

Oh...and if you'd like to type /sysgroupred instead of /sysgroup \#FF0000\ then do the following:
/alias sysgroupred /sysgroup \#FF0000\
Then you can /sysgroupred to your heart's content. The DEVs have already given you the ability to do this...don't bug them to give it to you again.

My thoughts concerning the proposed new abilities are to wait and see how they work. Any criticism of them at this point is pure speculation. We asked for a bone, they threw us bone, let's not bite the hand that tossed it.
One other thing, making claims about the opinion of the community when only a minority of the community has responded invalidates those claims. You can't in good conscience say that the majority of us despise the proposed abilities when you have not tallied the majority of our opinions.

Do you disagree with the statement, "The 'new skills' as defined in the response from the DEVs are mostly things we can essentially accomplish anyway if we are in a reasonably good group and we use /groupChat, /yell and /sysgroup effectively"? The exceptions to this statement are the stances.
If so, why do you disagree? I have only heard people say "wait and see" but notseen any one of those people offer a cogent couter-arguement to the issues people have with the proposed 'new skills'.

Well I have been reading this board since Launch, I wanted to see what was coming down the line for fixes and nerfs before I was to say anything. I have Played as a Master SL and Master TKA for a week now and find the SL first needs to be fixed. The proposed SOE add-on's are totally useless, they have no use except for hand-holding members and I for one dont want to do that ever. The report recomendations are alright- but more emphasis on passive "wow" abilties are needed. The only thing I can add is this...
1) Fix Boost Morale!!! Pet wounds dont heal when they are in group and sometimes it's just easier to have them in group to see HAM, so telling people to keep thier pets out of group is pretty lame.
2) Through modern warfare the, the Squad Leader was the person to call in last minute support. The ability to bring a barrage down in a AOE type encounter would be a definate benefit, and if placed on a lengthy timer ie. 40 minutes would not be abusable but litteraly a last chance to turn the tide of battle. "I'm making the call !!!, drop support on my location!!!"
I may be out of line here, but I find myself thinking about these quite a bit.

Afraid? I’m PRETTY SURE THEY WILL. (Despite the fact you have done a VERY good job for what you are trying to do.) This is evidenced by the fact that the first report went nowhere. I’m not saying that we are patsies and SOE invented this correspondent just to try and make us think there are interested in our input to placate us for a couple of months. Just our first input went nowhere. The spoon feeding corespondents 'seemed' to get more traction. AND DiLune’s point needs SO much more attention that I am afraid it will get lost in the nose:
NONE OF THE SUGGESTIONS BY US OR SOE GIVES SQUAD LEADER ANYTHING SUBSTAINTIAL.
And YES IT WILL GET LOST IN THE NOISE. If WE collectively think that the proposals is unsubstantial that is ALL we should say. Debating the thing point by point gives it credability. I disagree, A longer report does dilute this point.

It's only pure speculation if someone is a complete idiot. These abilities are straight-forward and to-the-point. 90% of them are going to be the same real-time as they are on paper. Making everyone follow you at once isn't going to be some grand new thing we are going to discover.

They replied to us with NOTHING we asked for, completely ignoring the Top 5 issues list along with all of the current problems. Nasty food can't be made good with spice. Spice only makes good food better.

Yes I did, I read 6 pages of forums and wrote down, like a poll, each person's stance on the issues. Once again you're one of the people who falls in the minority and is angry at the rest of the community for displaying their disgust with the new things because you want to wait to test them. The community's majority DOES have a point: we cannot wait for them to come out without first letting them know we are displeased with the current SL first. You are too quick to assume everyone is bashing the new abilities and not the fact they have ignored our calls for help on the current SL. People aren't stupid - they know when SOE is trying to throw a bunch of "cool" stuff at them and they also don't like being ignored. Frankly, I don't blame them.
here are my last minute thoughts/comments on your document:
1. Near the beginning you mention that the Dev's completely disregarded our "top 5 list", but I don't see that list repeated anywhere(?). I think you should include it for reference purposes.
2.Near the bottom,you request the ability to change the color of /sysgroup messages. We already have this ability and it's fairly easy to utilize. I agree with the other people who think this should be removed from the list.
Throw my vote in on the "totally against" making people SL's pets. I'm definitely for more passive abilities that will improve a groups performance witha SL at the helm.
