It perturbs me more that some of the SL think its the kind of thing that should occur on the SL boards.

[msg(TH)] heh.. Well we'ld love to get in on some of those conversations.. Especially since our Correpondent is mostly AWOL.. Dilune's been double-duty Marksman & SL, so we've missed alot I'm sure.
[TH([email protected])] hes not awol. he has a firewall at work - - he emails me
[msg(TH)] Well.. we haven't seen him post int he forums in a while.. We were starting to think he'ld left & not told anyone.
im on the same page as others who are tired of having our forum filled with "n00b SL" (no real offense meant) requests, suggestions, etc.
I do not mind a GOOD suggestion now and again....but as others here have stated, it is tedious to have spent months mastering SL in the early days of the game....then keep the borked profession for 7 months after mastering it with no real acknowledgement of our issues or any fixes whatsoever......then, as others have said, to have the XP so screwed up that every new casual gamer can master it in a day or less.
YOu now have 2 groups in SL: Those who have had it for a very very long time and have stuck with it since day 1. We who have fought to get things changed and compiled hundreds of suggestions, ideas, and commentary.....all of which have never ever been fully acknowledged by the developing team of the game. Then you have the new guys who have no idea whatsoever of whats been going on with this profession for months.
While MOST professions have these 2 castes...the thing with SL is that we still have not been fixed and out of all profs i thinkw e have received the least attention of them all. SO when you have a new gangpile of people who dont have a clue of whats going on...it makes it harder for older core issues to coem up to the surface again. I give many thanks to irott and others who have kept the older compilations going and up top.
To Thulium:
I have nothing against you whatsoever. However, you ARE our only link to the developers. Emailing TH is, im sorry, not enough for us. You HAVE to be on these boards chatting us up, keeping updated posts, etc. The last post you made before replying to this one was on February 17th i believe. Ive heard that you do not post a lot in the correspondant forums either.
We all have real life situatiosn which bar us from optimum time ont he net. Recently i wa sunable to get online for over a week due to a network glitch. However, we as a community need an active correspondant.....and without trying to bash you, if ya can not perform that function then maybe it is time to find someone else who can. I have nothing against you personally....but from a community standpoint i thinkw e have all been wondering wth you are.......and a correspondant should be there to relate between the community and devs. If you never post and are never here, we never see you....how are we supposed to know what is going on? I heard abotu SL's not being affected by the defense cap 2 weeks before DiLune officially told us about it. Number 1, that shouldnt have happened...i shouldnt have found out before my own correspondant told me. Number 2, it should have been YOUR blue name, not DiLune's that we got a (more or less) official statement from.
your not a bad guy, and i was pleased when you took up Vemnox's torch. But you just have not been nearly as active with us, that I think we as a community deserve.

[msg(TH)] Has anything come up about the current uselessness of the Squad Leader? Several issues & features have been brought up on the Forums, but no comments have been made by the Devs on any of them (at least not in a place where we can see them )
[TH([email protected])] Squad Leader revamp will be happening in the future -- Ill be putting up a SL In Concept thread in April
[msg(TH)] Whatever happened to the last SL In-Concept Thread?
[TH([email protected])] Coming to a town near you in april
i bed thats the first of april
/sigh
I havent forgotten. I'll be posting the Inc Concept thread today. ![]()
Of course. I know this is important. Believe me, I know you guys have been incredibly patient.

Glad you finally stopped by TH![]()
But could you please give us a little info on what's goin on? The "In Concept" is important, yes, but what do the Devs envision for a Squad Leader? Maybe some top 5 answers
My deal is here is to represent what you guys envision for yourselves (within reason =P)
Honestly, the devs are open to your suggestions and I want to collect them, organize them and deliver them during the development process.
Dont you guys have a vision of what you want to be?
That last line is what Thunderheart unleashes on the Smuggler forum every other month.
It's as if every comprehensive revamp thread and every idea for an overhaul has been completely overlooked by the Devs, and that we hadn't written several long threads about what we wanted. We'd write more in the aftermath of the big brushoff, and a few months later, *poof* Thunderheart would reappear to ask again, "So, what is it you guys wanted?"
Now that you're getting the same tired stalling tactic, all I can say is "Good luck, Squad Leaders."
I remember a long and detailed list of proposed changes that the Devs had on the horizon for Squaddies back on August 22, 2003:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Development&message.id=394421&highlight=smoke+if+you+squad+leader#M394421
Glad to see the Devs took that revamp plan seriously and have been hard at work on it...
