Thread: New Squad Leader
DeepProgress: If you want the Devs to fix that bug, don't post it in the Squad Leader MB... they will never see it...
Your best bet is to post in CH, the Devs seem to be reading that MB left and right
Hey guys the holocrons sent me this way. I was just wondering how you get squad leader experience and all that stuff. If someone could give me a summary of what you guys do that would be great. Thanks in advance.

after you earn novice SL all you have to do is group with other players and ask them to make you the leader, they can do this by targeting you and typing '/makeleader' or start your own group and you will automaticaly be leader.
once your the groups leader you will get SL XP based on the combate XP your group earns, at least i think thats how the new formula works, i havent tired it myself yet, but im sure someone will know
any way welcome to the land of the profession the DEVs forgot. i hope jedi is worth the skill points you will waist earning Master SL, good luck
Tips: Have fun, and enjoy the profession. Otherwise, are you looking for Pre-pub 24 tips, or post-pub 24?
For another profession, it depends on what you want to accomplish.
Pistoleer = Short range, crowd control
Carbineer = Medium range, decent crowd control, decent damage.
Rifleman = Long range, poor crowd control, good damage. (I've crossed with BH myself for a couple of 'crowd control' skills)
CM orDoc = Excellent support chacter, not much damage that you yourself can dish out. Very good group toon, lacking if that's your only toon and/or you ever wish to do things solo because no one else is around.
Entertainer = Oddest cross I've heard of, but some brave soul was posting on here earlier with it. Used the cross as a social mix that could help the group out, but wasn't interested in combat themselves.
Commando = What I wish I could cross it with, but skill points don't allow for it. :-( Not sure post-CU anyway. Commando took a hit.

By pure skillpoints, it's possible to combine Commando and SL. Unfortunately you'll end up with a lot of area-effect weapons and no special abilities to boost them up with. Your firepower thus will fall short from any expectations you have on commando. Not good for supporting, not good for tanking, not good for damage dealing, you only are proficient in creating agro and getting incapped in very short time. ![]()
So, while in theory possible, it's worthless in practical use.
