CaptainVemnox,
Even though you haven't posted here before now - Greetings and Welcome. Do a good job and you'll have my vote for next time around.

Vol,
Sorry you didn't get the job, but geez man give the guy a break - he didn't put himself in this position.

Congrats on your new title CaptainVemnox. The fact that you are now the leader of a profession of people who prefer giving orders than taking them puts you in a tougher position than the other correspondents. Also theunfortunate issuethat this profession is somewhat more busted than the others means that we have our work cut out for us.

I do find Volatris' initial posts to be in very poor taste, but asone member of the SL community I accept his apology.

Yay, good welcomes this time! Thanks everyone, I truly will do my best to be that leader you want.

I love that quote, Smuggler...

"The fact that you are now the leader of a profession of people who prefer giving orders than taking them puts you in a tougher position than the other correspondents."

That's so ironically true I am sure! I look forward to hearing more of that. =)

Hi and welcome. Like everyone else, I've never seen you before but that's not a problem IMO as long as you keep up your communication with the SL community like you have been since you became the correspondent. I understand you're "not the talkative type" or whatever, but if you want to effectively represent us, I think you're going to have to become that type.

Another thing, listen to Vol. He is understandably irritated that the devs didn't pick him (no offense to you), but he is in all probability the most knowledgeable squad leader here. Listen to the rest of us too, we may not know as much but we can read what Vol knows and it's a greater pool of ideas.

Welcome Vemnox,

I think you guys are looking at this the wrong way. Vemnox is not a leader per say but a voice. Doing it this way allows SOE to hear from one "rational" person instead of the mess on the development board.

I hope that you listen and represent our voice well for the month to come.

Volatris wrote on the Carbineer Forum:
I got totally shafted on the Squad Leader thing, my hundreds of posts, and hours and hours of working with the community to identify bugs, issues, and suggestions resulted in some guy I who never posted on the SL forums before getting Correspondent.

Either they didn't get my email or are totally clueless.

Really mature Vol, real "leader" like.

Aydam's out for blood, so I'll try and diffuse this issue as quickly and sanely as possible.

I am deeply sorryfor my previous comments and posts, they were out of line and totally uncalled for. It was a moment-of-passion thing, and a feeling of betrayment on what I thought was the best work I could put forth. It was an expression of raw human emotion, one that should be understandable, yet nevertheless highly inappropriate.

The post you quoted previously was not posted on this forum, but rather on the Carbineer forum among my good friends there who supported me strongly to try and be Correspondent there, and also supported my decision to try for Squad Leader instead. If a man cannot vent among his friends, he would explode. Realize what that was, nothing more. It makes a potent quote, but really has very little substance behind it, just pompous words.

While this may take a few days to heal, unfortunately, please accept my sincerest apologies for my actions. I have already put it behind me and will be working more on improving our profession and community like I have every day before this one. I hope you all can do the same and I look forward to working with you all in the days, months, and years to come.

First I want to say welcome and thanks for taking on this duty.

Obviously most of this can't be responded to now but when the answers are known I'd like to hear the following.

1. How often areyou going to be reporting on this class and will we have a "current report on Squad Leaders" to know what's being presented?

2. Do you really think 30 days will give any profession enough representation. It would seem to me 3 weeks out of every 4 will be getting people introduced into the system and to proceedures so how can any corrispondent properly represent what's going on in that short a time?

3. I know there will be a "top 10 issues" for each profession but do you know if we'll be getting feedback on the progress and direction of any of those fixes? I'd hate to see the kind of adjustments given CTs continue and hope the communications is going to be a lot better about those kinds of things.

Thanks again and welcome.

Sure I'd be ticked. But I wouldn't be taking cheap shots at a guy who has had the position for less than a day.

Judge a man by his actions.

Sure, Vol has done lots for the SL Community, but his actions and comments are bad form.

In the interests of the community I am leaving this alone. Even though I must say I was not "Out for blood". I, like you, just want the best for the Squad Leader Profession.

He didnt take cheap shots at the guy... he said that he hadnt ever posted here... which is true. Furthermore, he apologized for reaction. Quite frankly I felt a little irritated when I did not read his name as correspondant, and I dont even know the guy, just read what he has posted. What worries me is that there was an overwhelming voice on these forums supporting Volatris, and so it seems even more than before that the developers pay absolutely no attention to what is going on with Squad Leaders.

With that said, Vemnox has already shown to me that he will be a great correspondant. So congratulations Vemnox, I look forward to communicating with you about our SL issues. And please, please look into the XP issue. It is far and away the largest issue for me. (seriously... what other profession penalizes advancement in that profession for using their skills!)

Volatris... keep up the good work.
