Greetings fellow Squad Leaders, future one's, and visitors alike! Today I received the terrific news I was selected as the Squad Leader correspondant, and I would like to introduce myself formally to everyone, if you haven't caugh me on the boards squirming around already!

My real name is Joey and I'm a 4th year communications major at Louisiana State University. It will help a lot being that, as I love conversing with people and problem-solving in the most civil, concrete methods possible.

I play a Squad Leader named Void Vem on the Gorath server and can be most frequently found on the planet Tatooine. I'm an avid gamer, but not hardcore gung-ho and I'm truly delighted to be able to play this terrific game!

As Squad Leader correspondant, I guarantee you the utmost listening I can humanly provide. My first priority will be ridding the true "bugs" of the class at all times, then focussing on what is good and not-so-good about the class. SOE strictly requires a positive, confident, and organized form of reporting issues and comments on the class, and that is also strictly what I plan to provide to them, and to you.

My #1 focus throughout this all will be you, the community. I guarantee I will read every single post on this board and every private message I get with open-minded consideration. Those who approach things in the positive, civil manner will be taken far more seriously than the all-caps-lock-rant type. =) I have made myself freely accessible to all of you. I want to hear your thoughts, concerns, and opinions about everything! Private message me, IMme,or e-mail me. I always have my AOL, MSN, ICQ, and Yahoo! messengers open when I am at the computer, and most of the time when I am not. I will read and reply to everything as fast as I possibly can.

Once again thank you SOE and everyone for this opportunity and I look forward to getting to know every one of you!

~Joey AKA Void Vem of the Gorath server

This is a fairly new Station.com account, actually. The former was my old gaming name, and I changed it recently, so I've definently been around for quite some time.

Ah, please do inform us of the name you post under so we can see who we're dealing with

Remember: class correspondents are dynamic and will change on a regular basis to give everyone a turn.

Congradulations, be sure to lead our squad leading class to a place where squad leading should be!

Although I did think Voltaris had the position hook, line and sinker; but as long as we have an experienced SL filling the slot nothing should go wrong.

I'm afraid I just don't understand, there's some sort of miscommunication here.

But to all evidence at hand, you've never posted in the Squad Leader forum before (although you're trying to give a lot of answers in a lot of threads in the last few hours...) and now your job is to listen to a community you've never met and relay their thoughts?

It seems like an awfully strange introduction of a middleman into a situation that didn't particularly need one.

Not one post, in a What Server are you On?, or a Squad Leader Census, or a What are you wearing? or any such thread, or any acknowledgement to the community that you even applied for the position to represent them. Totally out of the blue, and now you're posting on every thread...

It just seems a bit unusual to me that you would apply to represent a community that didn't know you. While I'm sure your intentions are good, and I'm sure Squad Leader will improve in time, I'm just a bit confused about the whole situation, or why you applied.

Try and understand my viewpoint, as a die-hard lover of this community, who has spent dozens of hours in Beta and Release trying to nurture the community, lead it, and represent it.

I do, friend, but please understand you will get your turn. I completely understand where you are coming from, and your turn will come (probably in 30 days when the next correspondent is selected). If you have a question as to why I was chosen, perhaps you should ask SOE. I'm not one to get accepted for something then defer it because someone was content they were getting it. Just because I was not a frequent poster before doesn't deem me as never having read the forums. I'm actually very little of a talker and 90% listener, even in real life. TodayI am posting to give everyone a general feel for me. I'm sorry you feel that I should not have been selected and so strongly that you should have been. In fact, I'm sure you are selected as one of the next in line. I sincerely hope your extreme disappointment doesn't affect your obvious dedication to the class and to the community on these forums. As per my old account, as I said, I changed it and thus removed the other. You would not have found more than the number of posts on that account as on this one, though, as I know you are trying to get me to "prove" I'm so in touch with the community. In mebeing here from here on out, I hope you will come to learn that I am, in fact, extremely knowledgable about the class and an avid listener. I hope you and the rest of the gang here will assist me, as you already have. Once again, please bear with me and be humble that you're already a huge member of this community. Goodluck and private message me if you wish to discuss anything further.

Welcome CaptainVemnox. I hope you do a good job communicating Squad Leader issues to SOE. I know that Volatris is more active in posting, but as you said he will get hischance. However I am seeing a decided LACK of leadership (*boggle* that's insulting) from him and hope he can suck it up and accept that someone else got the role for now. (they didn't get your e-mail? Hubris does not become a good leader.)

CaptainVemnox Thanks for representing us. PM me if you need anything tested in game, I'm a master and enjoy messing with the mechanics of the class =]
