This is the most rediculous thread I've ever seen, and if you read the post yes they are cutting the Sl exp in half so it isn't as easy to lvl up SL but nerfing it is rediculous, maybe you can start crying nerf after they give us a revamp and everything is working, but calling for a nerf when we are broken and near useless that just stupid.

A master SL isn't about how many points you spend, or how long it takes to hit master. It knowing how to effectively coordinate and lead a group of people with different skills in various circumstances. So when you say you want to nerf the speed at which you gain experience because you mastered it in a day, I have to ask you this simple question...

What makes you think you are really a master?

No joke. nerf xp heck it has taken me four days to get one level. Why because im not grinding out squad leader for any particular holocron. I'm doing it for enjoyment. Too many suggestions to nerf this and nerf that, why do i even come to these boards. Oh yeah because there used to be decent tips and decent people posting on the rifleman and squad leader forums. Now we get rejects from other forums coming here wanting to make it harder for people that are casual players to even have fun in game. Nerfherders make me sick.

Are you kidding? Its not as if we can solo this profession. If anything, you're capacity to Master this profession rapidly is your ability to work with others. Its the core element of this game.

The only more social profession than ours is Politician.

that satire was funny

Speaking in bitterness, the skills you get in SL might in fact be worth the time it takes to get MSL. there are far more useful skills that take far longer to get.
Now, if an MSL is always the leader of the group because they are an effective leader, because they pay attention to whats going on, because they use their skills when necessary and don't rally when people ask them not to, that is different.
If you just want the skills, go for it. 1 day and you get 1 day's worth of skills.
The respect from leading groups (and leading them well) for a long time after getting MSL, that is what takes the most time.

I've been playing the game since June and I'm only about three-quarters through the SL profession (admittedly, I've been XP maxxed for about two weeks now as I'm shy on remaining skill points and want to get the most out of my architect skills while I can), depsite picking it up (along with Carbineer) as soon as I had the points to do so.

Why? Because I've never lead a group of 20.. or 15.. or 10. I'm a roleplayer and my primary duty is leading tactical missions with small groups of guildmates. I have no interest in running to Tusken or Endor or wherever to lead an unknown score (minus 1) of people just so that I can have a master SL title to hang over my head. Where is the sense of accomplishment in that?

Just a casual tangent because I really don't care if SL xp changes - I'll still proceed at a non-"must-finish-asap" pace. Of course, when XP changed for the worse, I was a bit dismayed when I was getting 20 and 30 SL XP at a time... <grin>

You can master Artisan in 3 hours. You can master any other beginning profession and feel good. You can master Image Designer in a day no sweat. I don't feel accomplished getting to the end of a skill tree, but rather after I learn to use the skills to the best of my abilities to overcome any objective.

That sounds weird to me. *shrug* oh well already typed it!
