true but asking fora complet revamp has not gotten us any DEV responces so maybe we need to take a step back and ask for smaller things we might begin to see results.

we may not like it but if they arent going to revamp then small changes are better then nothing

and slowly we might beabel to get the entire prfession fixed one step at a time

How do you improve the entire game, and one of the more useless professions at the same time? Well this is a start: Help Support the http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=squad_leader&message.id=10609>Fortification Proposal

No changes are the same as small changes, as far as I'm concerned except: Change Boostmorale. But they won't change boostmoralefrom wounds todamage because it would step on CM, Doc and Medic toes. I would love to get that change, that's how I thought it would work when I first read it. Aside from Terrain Negotiation the Devs shy away from stepping on professions toes. I'm sorry I'm disagreeing with you and not offering you a solution to the problem. There is no easy solution to this problem.

ther is no easy solution. true. we're not looking for a "silver bullet" fix here. what we are looking for is a start. "A journey of 1000 miles starts with a single step" that's all I'm asking for here. Is this a good first step? I think we all can see that the "revamp the entire profession" aproach is not working. So, I'm going to take the "can we at least get this fixed soon" aproach.

In the spirit of this thread, I'd like to pre-emptively make a strike against against negativity here...

Assuming I correctly interpreted Th's PM and I am being made correspondent because I was "first." Personally, I'm glad that is the case because it means noone has to try to claim to be the best person for the job. As we should be getting our first developer response of some kind this week in the Correspondent forum, it is extremely important that we get a new Correspondent right away. I think taking "first come, first served" at this point is probably the best way to go. As long as the new correspondent isn't a complete tool, it doesn't matter as much if we're getting the "best" person for the job or not. ...If you happen to think I AM a complete tool, please PM me so we can deal with that issue off the boards rather than further mire our forum with continued bickering.

I would be perfectly amenable to only being an "interim" correspondent while we/Th make a decision. However, for obvious and selfishreasonsI would prefer to get a real chance to take a shot at being a good correspondent. Either way, I hope that the community will SUPPORT and not tear down our representative.

Hmm, maybe it isn't you. I would think they would contact you before they sent rejection PMs to the rest of us and say "Hey, you're it." Maybe that's not the way the system works. Who knows how the system works? Lets just get this class beefed up and group desirable!

I just think that we need to stay positive. hold our tounges with the flames a little, and try to work WITH the Dev's insted of bickering, and complaining.

It's possible that it isn't me, but honestly I'm pretty certain that it is. Thunderheart's exact message to me at 4:58am (PST) Saturday morning:

Thanks Thulium

I have no heart burn with Thulium as Correspondent. He's been a good poster, fair, and tries hard to be helpful. All in all, he's a good guy. If it is him, there's nothing wrong with that.

Thanks, Darth, I appreciate the vote of confidence!

On a side note, if anyone has issues with a "first come, first served" policy...I believe it's already being discussed in GREAT detail in the Politician forum. ...my Entertainer character managed to help WIN that race for my PA...but being a bit disillusioned at the timewith my chosen profession,I wasn't available to help my "main" character's PA build a city--so it looks like we wait until the cap is moved or we move to Lok. Oh well, I've been playing Jedi Starfighter a bit lately and that Nym guy isn't all bad.

O.K., back to the reason for this thread. Can we agree on HAM cost too much, and Fail Rates too high as the Number 1a and 1b problems to get them cracking on? If Thulium is the new correspondent, then let's start him off with an issue to bring up, and see where it goes.

Yes, I agree that HAM costs being too much, and Fail Rates too high are important issue and should be on the list. I would ask that the passive modifiers be increased as a item.

I would also ask that thebenefit of passivebonuses be moreapparent to other group members. What I have in mind is somethinglike, a message in the combat channel such as, Imperial Medic hits you for 300 health damage, less 30 because of group ranged defense modifer, for example.

sure, and I think that the passives are number 2a 2b to be fixed. But again, first things first. then after what we have is fixed we can go to the SOE Santa Claus with our wish list. For now, I just want to get what we got working in balance with the game.
