Thread: Nerf call for Last Ditch
1. A huge number of Smugglers pick up BH for the express purpose of making Jedi life hell.
2. The BHs do what got us into this: They adapt, overcome. the find another profession, with another useful trick, grind like mad to it, and kill more jedi. Incidentally, we also, are now killing Jedi.
3. Jedi whine.
4. A new argument erupts about nerfing whatever other profession the BHs switched to in their hunt for jedi skulls.
5. Jedi Alienates ANOTHER profession in some profound fashion.
6. Nerf goes through. Profession 2, taking our example and very angry themselves, pick up some BH and go hunting.
7. So on.
Eventually, a Jedi can't go two steps without some cheezed off player with BH opens fire. There's nothing left for them to do, so they whine futiley and most likely leave in a snit. And we all breathe a sigh of relief and carry on.
Okay, maybe a pipe dream. But they're certainly looking like they're gonna have a go at it.
I can promise you, that if we get one of our few skills nerfed AGAIN because of Jedi, there will be another BH on Bria. I will hunt jedi until they are in so deep that they will have to have sunlight boxed and brought in on coal trucks. Even though I, like everyone else, is working on a Force Sensitive Character, I am beginning to believe that Jedi (even the dark) are all a bunch of whiney t***y-baby spoiled brats who just cant stand to lose. Thanks to all the nerfs and unbalancing due to them, I am starting to really really hate them all.
If there is going to be a nerf, let it be soon, so I can respec instead of grind. Revenge may be best served cold, but its best eaten hot!
They want BHs not to use us? Fine. Here's an idea:
Go ahead and make the two of them mutually exclusive. Reduce the amount of dabbling a BH can do, and a Smuggler can do.
BHs want is on terms and we want to be on terms? Okay. Fine.
So make us stand by ourselves. Make us on the same level. Equal, but different. raise our skulduggery to new heights. Let us be the Han or Lando that can keep up with Skywalker every step of the way. Put us on the terminals. After two years, make us really be something.
On the whole, I agree with my girlfriend that I'd be a hundred times prouder than I would Jedi to say "Guess what? I unlocked my SMUGGLER today. Now it's gonna be fun." And just let the BHs *try* to catch me. Crafty, sneaky, slip in and out of anywhere... whatever it means to have Smuggler at that level. Illegal mods become our lightsabers, chicanery and underhandedness our powers. Push BH up similarly, and just have done with it all. Three iconic professions, three optional endgames.
Or maybe I'm just in an odd mood after all this and think it would be a hilarious way to stick it to the nerf-criers.

Jedi no longer have anything to lose so it doesnt matter how many times you kill them, if you manage to kill a master defender, they wont be to bothered because a full template no longer needs worry about negative xp only a bruised ego.

Not quite true. They can still lose their fun, obviously, or we wouldn't be in this mess. They push hard enough, they'll spend so much time being shot by BHs they won't enjoy anything anymore.

Kate, I have to say that's probably one of the best idea's I've heard come out of this, or any other forum. I mean, we've been hit over the head due to Jedi a good deal now, which obviously means that we're doing something right (or wrong) and are a good and special thing. So put us on an even level with the Jedi.
"So what's your template looking like?"
"Oh, master Dirty Fighter, 4040 Cash and Muder Games along with 2130 Stickin' it to the Man."
Hell, maybe we should discuss it and do up a formal proposal anyway. It'll keep us busy while we wait for the nerf. :>
I'm in on the fight for smugglers everywhere! New and old. 
We WILL NOT stand to be nerfed again for absolutely no reason by whining jedi. FD is balanced, there are tactics anyone (including jedi) can use to minimize the threat. Don't nerf a valuable smuggler skill to appease therunny nosed, glowstick swinging, nerf bat wielding, game breaking,non-tactics using, spoiled-littlebuggers!If they win this fight, they will win any others they choose to. Other professions will feel the jedi nerf bat sorely, andafter the smoke settles, jedi will be the only profession left...
Only then will they come to realize that they ruined the game entirely, and are bored out of their skulls due to no variety or "risk".

Sounds like a plan to me.
EDIT: The girl says to drop her(Bellona) a line on Starsider if anyone there wants to just, say, chat it up. She's not a smuggler, but after listening to us rant all morning via my reading aloud, she's feeling a lot of solidarity and says she'd not mind chatting it up with anyone that wants to. And I've been smuggler long enough that she's got a lot of smuggler through osmosis and taken a stab at the old tree a couple times.
