Alright, you asked a polite, real, thoughtful question, both of you, so I'll answer it. My concern with moving LD to master, or making it get more effective at master, is because this game is not solely about masters. There are people out there new to the game, that are going to be levelling smuggler from nothing, with very few friends to group with for a while, and so on. I don't want to be the one to explain to them that this skill that I found incredibly useful for surviving a solo grind to Master is now basically worthless to them. I dont' want to be saying "Well, the root won't hold long, the snare may not do it, you don't have much in the way of durability, and you can't count on FD to save your bacon. We used to be able to use LD to finish things off in this situation, but sorry, we agreed to let them make it suck at your level. You'll be lucky if you *ever* see it hit before master". Nor do I think i should have to tell bright-eyed novices that theyr'es no point to touching PvP until master. As it stands, you don't have to master to hold your own while you're working your way up.

In short, Let's not forget the poor novices. Especially when we're talking something that effects them and doesn't *have* to be nerfed. Because it just doesn't.

Kate has a point here.To expound on it a bit:

1) Smuggler is a Hybrid Class, not an Elite class...it takes more than one novice box to get to, thus limiting other things you may specialize in...so, alot of Hybrid players 'dabble'. Personally, I am a Master Smuggler and dabble in Pistols and Combat Medic...I can't master more than Master Smuggler, due to my current 'template'. Does this mean I should be punished for that? No.

2) This game isn't all about PvP. Get that out of your heads. There are a TON of us who do NOT PVP. We prefer to use our time and skills in the 'carebear' way..whether you like it or don't, that's your problem to discuss with your counselor, not mine. PvP does not set the standard for a game. Unfortunately, since Jedi are majority-pvp'ers, and tend to think their opinion is more important than everyone else's (the term 'aloof' comes to mind), the Jedi complaints start to stack up, and then flame wars begin (like this one).

So, if you jedi have a problem with SMUGGLERS now (like you've had problems, with BHs, Combat Medics, Riflemen, the pool boy, and whoever else), you are doing more harm than good to this game.

Combat Upgrade did enough damage to the player community. Don't make Jedi the new Devs.

Ugh, I con't actually bring myself to even follow this spat, as we all know where it's headed.

When we lose LastDitch, I'm gone. That's all I have to say on the matter [excluding any random obscenities I might fire into the Jedi forum]

Guys, don't give up the fight. I swear that if the Jedi nerf anymore professions, especially our Last Ditch skill, I will find points for Investigation 3 and just make all Jedi miserable.

know what would suck? my friend the jedi explained this to me

say i did last ditch

ok say i do 6000 damage because i had one hp left

now

say the Jedi blocked it, im in trouble

now say it went through, ok, so defences, force armor...etc

its perfectly balanced, if we have less life the more damage it does

we can die after we fire, and of course... if we miss we are in some major major deep kim chee

Give us our revamp and/or FIX OUR OTHER ABILITIES FIRST everything else we have royally bites/is broken/doesnt make sense

Slicing? a whole branch worthless and obtained by pistols... spices..have combat exp... and other things... are junk

Unfortunately, all taking Inv III will do is make you miserable, because the Jedi will not be happy until they are unbeatable. That's what defines swg Jedi - people who cannot bear to lose, and when they do, they call exploit, cheat, nerf, whatever

If I wasn't so depressed at wher I know this is headed, I'd be spitting blood.

Don't you ever get tired of being the STEPCHILD of SWG. It was a smuggler who saved the day in SW IV. If i remember correctly that smuggler played a LARGE part of the original canon. I think we shouldn't be rude but why not voice our opinion. Jedi whine anyway.

You forget that the moment the Jedi ask for anything it is given. Only one has to ask and it will be given. No PvE death exp loss is one of the new things they have received. Their correspondant is a cutthroat who will literally make them gods at the loss to everyone else. The nerf to LD is already being pushed for and has probably already been planned today. We are probably too late I fear.
