This just happened a few hours ago. I mostly get along with my guild mates but there is this one guy i really don't like cause he is a complete ass. So he got a new set of comp today and asked me to slice it for him since i always slice stuff for free for other guild members. And low and behold i got 40% encumbrance slices on his chest, pants, and helm. So i am sitting there gaping in amazement and i tell him how awesome the slices were and give back the armor, and he is like "dude these slices suck, give me money to get a new set of armor so you can get some decent 60% slices on them". i responded that the highest slice possible is 45% encumbrance and 35% anything else. And hesays "Then how come i've seen armor with 60% effectiveness before." /addignore

guy: are you slicing 4?
me: can you read?
guy: after you slice it can I get a master to slice it again?

Here's a couple more scenarios that happen with a bit too much frequency:
I'm sitting around Coro with my Slicer title on, waiting for tells or customers to approach me.
Someone tells or approaches "Can you slice something for me?"
"Sure, I charge 4k per slice."
Then the ask one of two questions:
"How good are you?" OR "What level slicing do you have?"
I mean... c'mon I'm wearing my SLICER title... what level do you think I have? I mean, I really enjoy explaining the slicing system and how it works to EVERY person, as well as explaining the difference between a slicer and a master smuggler...
Then there's this one:
Customer comes up "Can you slice my armor for me?"
"Sure, I charge 4k per slice."
"Oh, well nevermind I can't afford that."
So I'm thinking... alright, I'll try and cut him a deal
"How many pieces you need sliced?"
"Full set of composite"
Well he's got a brand new shiney set of armor, he can't be that bad off, but I'll knock a bit off the top anyway...
"Alright, I'll do the whole set for 30k"
"Still can't afford that, I'm totally broke..."
At this point, a nearby doc who's been buffing and heard the conversation actually sends me a tell laughing at the situation. I mean, whats the guy thinking? He's basically asking for a free slice of an entire set of armor!

Overheard in Coronet:
Some Guy #1: can ne1 slice containers? (He meant to say if anyone could slice his containers)
Some Guy #2: No, only smugglers can.
Later, Some guy # 1: can a smuggler slice my container?
Not that funny, but.....

Love these boards. Just had my first "bad" encounter.
Scene: In front of Cnet SP(Kettemoor Server)
Myself(Lowatti-Slicing4) and Jasius(Master Smuggler) are both advertising for slicing. I /dump my macro to help a guildie doc control his line. Wateo start shouting not to use Jasius because he charges 10k per slice. Jasius and I begin /telling each other about the fool and agree that he stay at 10k and I will charge 8k. Just after we reach this agreement, who should send me a /tell, Wateo, asking if I could slice for him. I told him 8k per. HE starts ranting and raving about how outrageous these prices are. I told him that he pays 10k for a 3 hour buff but wont pay 8k for a permanent addition to his equipment. Then this fool tells me that slices are not permanent because the weapons/armor decay. I told him to take better care of his equipment and they would be. Then, as if on cue, he tells me about his alt(who of course is a smuggler, don't they ALL have an alt who is a smuggler?) and he only charges 3k per, so I told him thats nice, go play with yourself and go away. Didn't hear from him after that. Just thought I would add this and say that maybe we should start charing 10k per at Master and 8k per at Slicer, people will **edit**, but they will pay. Just my 2 creds.

I dont usually post on these forums, but this thread is so funny, I thought I should share my first ever experience as a smuggler.
Me: /shout (Whisper) Psssst... hey, you! Got any containers? etc etc (yeah, I know, /shout (Whisper) together, but you wouldnt belive how that gets some people attention)
RW (Random Wookie): Can you slice weapons?
Me: No, im just novice
RW: Its a sword, can you slice it?
Me: I just said I cannot slice weapons (I had just read a few pages of this thread, so was in low-tolerance mode)
RW: I want speed slice
Me: (Not wanting to get into the whole randomness issue) I cannot slice weapons, please move away.
RW: I have no money, can you do it for free, I was speed.
Me: (0% Patience slice) Listen to me: I. CANNOT. SLICE. WEAPONS. OR. ARMOR. I. AM. A. NOVICE. SMUGGLER.
RW: *Silence*
Me: *Turn container spam on again*
Trade Request from Random Wookie
Thinking he may have a container, I accept
Curved Sword is put into trade window
Me: That isnt a sword
RW: It isnt?
Me: No, you need pikeman skill to use that weapon
RW: Oh. You want to buy it?

This JUST happened. Not very smuggler related, but it happened in my Smuggling Shack. I'm browsing the vendors in my town mall when I get a disgruntled email from apache (screw the "innocent")
He goes on to flame me for charging an entrance fee and having nothing on my vendors.
Now, the sign out front says LOOT KIT ITEM VENDOR INSIDE. 1 credit entrance fee (workin on merchant, again).
I send apache a tell telling him to check the vendor labeled "N'Dak's Security."
He responds, "IT HAD 4 FRIGGIN ITEMS ON IT U LOSER!"
So I reply, "If you didn't notice, the sign said LOOT KIT ITEM VENDOR. It's not like I an just make more loot kit items to restock the vendor. And if you're that worried about a 1 credit entrance fee, I can give it back."
To which he replies, "GO AWAY LOSER! WELCOME TO IGNORE"
My response: /addignore apache; /denyservice apache
Now, I dunno about you, but, 1 credit isn't a lot of money. Maybe he just had a short fuse?

Ok here's my little 2 cents.
I've been a Master smuggler for a few months. I love it.
I was out on dath way out about 7-8k from the nearest sp. hunting and alone.
guy: are u slicing?
me: I can, but it'll be extra cause I'm hunting
guy: fine , can u send me a wp?
me: sure, to let u know 15k per. i really didn't want to slice but if i can make some extra cash fine by me 
(send him wp)
guy: omw.
I'm waiting, hunting rancors no biggie.
He shows up with 5 blue dots. I'm thinking he's leading some noobs around, no biggie.
Guy: I' m here
me: I see you
guy: I have three pistols and 2 cdef rifles
me: ( I'm thinking nfw) I tell him are u sure?
guy:?tell its for these noobs, I'm helpinng them.
me ok it's your money.
At this point i'm a little wery on this deal so I examine these "noobs" nothing really big 1master markeman. I'm thinking set up, so I get ready for battle.
Guy: np
Trade
As I thought i get a tef.
5 otherare overt rebs.
I hit my marco and start with flame cone2 with my krayt ft then switch to my lp and panic shot them all for delay then low blow 1 at at a time and literaly walk through them, then being really mad i proceed to disable there swoops.
all 5 incap'd and thier swoops disabled. I begin to flip to my master commando title. and laugh at them.
I/tell them all that this was fun but they have a long run back to the sp so they better get started.
I /bow to them and turn to my hunt and get back to work.
after all of this the damn imp had the balls to ask for the weapons back. I laughed at him to and turned away. and went back to hunt. The barage of tells started in with
Guy: give me my **edit** back
me: sorry no can do
guy: u know how I am.
me: nope never seen ya.
guy: I'm your worst nightmare.
me : lol u wanta try me to?
guy: i can take you in a heart beat!
me: ok will fight for the weapons.
guy: fine
/duel
/accept duel
5 seconds l8r
me: thanx for the crappy weapons
I then bring over some rancors that proceeded to disable his swoop when I fiegn death next to it.
Guy: that was F UP'd!
me: and bringing 5 reb to kill me wasn't?
silence
then i watched him put his bike up and start runnig back
and I felt good / evilgrin
