HMMMM actualy require smuggling to complete? hell thats in game also, our specials (lowblow, the roots that we have and such) we dont want to bring unwanted attention to us as smugglers and killing someone like a npc not a mobWOULD bring unwanted attention. there for we sneek around and cant kill the npc's that are trying to "capture us" any killings would cause us to go on the BH TERMINALS

I was just pulling numbers out of my a..the air, they didn't have to really mean something, the point was about having to belly up to the local smuggler mission terminal. Even if it is just to find contact information its incredibly unimmersive.

You're missing the point Jester. They want NEW missions that require skills gained from the smuggler tree to complete. NOT simply taking the existing delivery missions and making a terminal for them that only smugglers can access. They are attemping to give you some of that special treatment you are barking for. why wouldnt there be a "UNDERGROUND" network piggybacking on the mision terminals, that smugglers then have to slice to access? we also have thown out the idea of adding npc in places like nyms and jabba's to give out missions that are a bit harder.

The green text is the fundamental point to it. They're looking to make it more than just a delivery mission, something where being a smuggler, and a good smuggler at that, will actually matter.






To me they are one in the same. We're talking about smuggling missions for anyone? I don't think so. By nature a smuggling mission would be for smugglers. Delivery or not, I highlighted the portion in red simply because hes stating he wants to do a smuggler'esque mission but not exclusive to smugglers? What the hell does that mean?


Therefore, if you can't do it specifically for smugglers why not? It was done for Bounty Hunters...

As im smuggling i want to be stopped and possibly have to escape from storm troopers/rebel troopers/police/rival's i want to have to defend myself using my abilities to try and escape out of dodge before they overwhelm me.


I want searchs to mean something even as a master smuggler i want a chance of being detected and have to get out of there with my cargo before i get my head blown off, while im doing a smuggler missions i want to be affraid and paranoid everytime i walk past people who are guarding cities and low lifes who think that they can steal the cargo from me.


I look at the difficulty of the BH missions and i want a piece of that, i dont want a cake walk but i do want the aim of my mission to be to escape not be involved in a fight to the finish.


And also i would love a npc sidekick for a bit of fun, though im really not sure how this would work out i just know that sometimes i would like someone who can always watch my back (this part i dont expect to happen though it would be cool)

Well, despite feeling that "punched in the gut" feeling, at least JFreeman comes off as more real than all of the other bull I've heard before.


It is also VERY, VERY disconcerting to hear that they are still looking for ideas after we have been been doing nothing butoffer them great onesfor years now.


I can't put my finger on what exactly it is, but some part of me is upset at the moment...

and simply doesa few things, allows us to get our own loot, allows lower level BH to hunt other than NPC alowing for intresting match ups, and allows us smugglers to smuggle plane and simple how about that




I like this.

These are the sorts of things we're looking at now - existing systems we can tie into the (incomplete) smuggling system in order to flesh it out.

Er, I think you're reading it out of context; what is meant is that they won't simply make a clone of simple delivery missions that are currently in the game (e.g. get a data disc and go to this waypoint with it and if you're extra lucky find some meatlumps to kill before you converse with an NPC and lose the item).

Smuggling missions I think are implicitly restricted to Smugglers, just as BH missions are restricted to BHs and even if they weren't, they shouldn't be completable by none Smugglers anyway (if non-BHs were given marks, they'd have a hard time finding their mark within a month of Sundays).
