While I know everyone's frustrated at the lack of development of Smuggling missions, bringing up the fact that we've been waiting for two years, feel like you've been stabbed in the back and that we've been lied to in the past is not going to help developers who are in here looking to talk about actual development.

While I'm sure Tiggs and TH will love my saying this, point your angst in their direction with the request they pass it up to those that are in charge; please try and stay focused with designers/programmers because talking about how we feel and what's gone on does not help those that would work on us and does a disservice to all those that have left and more so to those that're still here waiting to be able to Smuggle.

At least, that's the way I see things

Keeping a cool head is tough. I try my best. Some other Smugglers fail at this. Yes, I reply to many threads with my "2+ years", but I don't go off the deep end. Yes, I am pissed inside, but I'm a Vulcan outside.

That, is why you're such a good corr.

and kindly asks be POSITIVE, you dont have to be nice but PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF THE ALLMIGHTTY 42% slice DONT PREACH YOUR NEGATIVE ATTITUDE IN ANY THREAD WITH A RED NAME, it makes them go away ESPECIALY WHEN THEY ARE TALKING WITH US!!1

ROFL!

If nothing else you do make me laugh. Yah 42% slice, just not above, and in some case below caps. You'll excuse me if i don't pony up to the a$$ kissing bar just because it's a dev who, on a rare occasion, happens to grace us with their precsence. I already stated in another thread.....

Hi, my name is Kelko, and I am soon to be the most cynical person in the forums when it comes to our profession.

BTW, they've been telling us we are high on their priority list for the last 1 1/2 years so he aint tellin me anything that hasn't been puked out before.

I've got a suggestion... How about we all down like 20 beers? We won't remember this thread at all! Then, if they don't deliver, we'll have no let down, but if they DO give us smuggling, it will be the best surprise ever!

In
preface to this question I'll state that I'm not attempting to bring up
old differences/troubles, but I feel it has to be asked;

You once stated (in JTL Beta) that the smuggling missions in JTL were smuggling missions and that Smugglers would end up seeing Smuggling
missions; at the end of this evaluation process, will whatever is
decided upon be more complex and meatier than mere delivery/escort
missions of the kind seen in JTL to warrant the illustration of a
difference between the two with upper and lower case letters (as
bizzare a method of comparison as that may seem )?

Ideally.
We don't want to offer "a delivery mission that only smugglers can
take", but rather to offer missions that actually require the use of
smuggling skills to complete.

I hate that word "Idealy".

"Jedi claims of being "broken" are like saying "But my TV isn't widescreen! It's broken! My TV can't show high-def pictures in 1080i, it can only do 720i! It's broken!" Meanwhile, crafters are saying "We'd really like to have a TV that's larger than 12" and gets more than 4 channels and doesn't constantly lose vertical control", and entertainers are saying "Can we get some color instead of this B&W piece of junk?" And smugglers? We're listening to radio programs of "The Shadow" and "The Abbot and Costello Comedy Hour" and hearing FDR's Fireside Chats. We don't even HAVE a damn TV, much less a broken one or a "broken" one by Jedi standards. I'd LOVE to be as "broken" as they are." - The Legendary Solo4114

A good example how things could work are like the first visit from the old man for the force sensitve stuff and being attacke dby the sith who if you fail the sith take your crystal.

In the case of a smuggler if you fail the muggers would get your cargo and of course we dont just have to be mugged on the ground it would be cool if we were attacked in space aswell.

Though again this is something already in the game and i dont se why it wouldnt be possible for something like this implemented for the smugglers.

Too much room left to imagination and misinterpritation?

More like the ability to back pedal from something because things weren't ideal.

It really was joke and I really am trying to renew my faith here... so leave me alone on this one tralita.

Why not? You've already done it for Bounty Hunters. I'm pretty sure smugglers deserve at least that and more given the circumstances and past.

The green text is the fundamental point to it. They're looking to make it more than just a delivery mission, something where being a smuggler, and a good smuggler at that, will actually matter.

Now this is more interesting, what skills are we looking at here? That
passive %resist based on how many blocks in underworld we have?I'm hoping
it could be a bit more interactive thanthat!

Part of what we envisioned as a Smuggler revamp is a skillset of special
abilities or items we could usethat we couldenable to smuggle from
one location to another. Not simply picking up some cargo and gettingto
our delivery point like a gundark on fire. Though that is certainly a viable way
of doing it.

Thefocus, I hope, being on doing it stealthily and then pulling
a blaster when everything falls apart. Rather than having the blaster out at the
beginning and shooting anything that moves.
