was out farming some imperial faction <killing those pathetic rebel scum> and I get a message from some Imperial buddies of mine that some Rebel has just DB'd a friend of ours in the same area. I was about to log, so I thought, "What the hey .. if I get DB'd oh well .."


I come running up asking for a wp to find exactly about where the perp is. I arrive on scene and the Rebel has just taken down a CM and is now meditating to recover their mind. I quickly hit with 2 last ditch and then hit feign as the person had seen me coming. He saw me go down as he thought He got me. He immediately went back into meditation. I popped back up and last ditched one last time ... and the DB'd !!


I then in typical smuggler style


/spit <target>

/walk away



Woot !! I absolutley LOVE feigned death !! I can't say how many times this story has been repeated!!



I love the satisfaction of seeing someone run up to you in expectations of DB'ing you only to think they are somehow bugged. Then jumping up and finishing them off !! Oh what fun !!



on another note ... have fun with your smuggler !! the re-vamp will happen when it happenes! Have fun now with what you've got !! I enjoy the heck out of roleplaying my smuggler. PvP is fun too. I'm not "super-uber" but have lots of fun with it. Even though a lot of our stuff is broken .. we still have THE COOLEST profession around !! BAR NONE !!!

Today, despite trying to organize a "Feign-In" at Theed, I decided to slice for people while macroing for said protest in Coronet. My plan was just to exhaust my current supply of smuggling tools and make whatever I can, before going on 'smuggler strike', even though I pretty much planned on eventually continuing to slice anyway (if I sound like a jerkoff for that-- if smugglers start boycotting, it drives the demand up, and someone's gotta take those saps money! Besides, we're not known as a particularly honest or honorable lot... There's no honor among thieves). Anyhow, so I'm slicing every now and then today. I notice I'm getting a LOT of high 20's and 30%+ speed and damage slices. This trend honestly carried through all night right up until I logged. I kept thinking it's going to end, but it never did. I made a good amount, but that doesn't even matter. It was the best day %-wise I've EVER had. One guy handed me 6 axes. One was a 21% to damage. The other 5 were 29's-35% ALL ON SPEED.


One guy I've known for a while starts handing me, not only free supplies cause I ran out, but suits of armor at a time, and even... a Berserker rifle. I'd personally never seen one before, this was the first time. So I'm thinking tomyself, well... Do I want to be the guy who ruins this dude's rifle? I was STILL pulling the odd 15 or 19 or whatever % on weapons... But luckily I drew a 32% damage. If not 32 it was a 34. It was pretty sweet. I just love it when I REALLY pull through for people and after that they still come to me.


It sounds really corny but this is why I'm still, and always will be, a smuggler. I will probably end up taking a 2 or 3 month break between now and the JTL/Revamp time. But I keep thinking by then, Pistoleer should be fixed, SMuggler should be fixed, AND I can pick up a YT-1300. Ultimately, Smuggler will be GREAT. No matter what shape we are in now, I still believe that.

Today was the greatest Slicing day in my character's life. I pulled so many 30%+'s on weapons it's not even funny. One guy early on hands me 6 axes of varying types. I had earlier gotten him a 34% on damage to a slow-ass axe, and he was like 'well, good damage is better than nothing!' An hour or so later he came back to me with the rest of these axes saying 'yea the damage is good but the speed is killing me'. 5 out of 6 of these slices were 29%-35%... ON SPEED. The other was 21% to damage. That was cool. Big tip there.


Later on, a guy who used to be a MS comes up to me and needs me to slice a few suits. In the mix he hands me a Berserker rifle-- the first I've ever seen. I was still pulling the odd 15% on weapons though, so I thought 'do I want to end the streak and totally F up this guy's rare rifle?' I chanced it, and got the guy either a 32 or 34% on damage. That was another highlight.


The streak stuck with me up until the last slice of the night before I logged. A 27% to damage, which I still consider pretty good; given that I can go as low as 15%. Shocklingly, I don't get to upset at even 25%ers. It's when I hit the low 20's and teens that I feel I've wasted people's time.


But anyhow, despite all that's happened to the smuggler community just in the past couple days, I'm going to stick with it. I'm probably going to take a 2-3 month break between now and JTL/Smuggler Revamp time. But by that time. Pistoleer should work. Smuggler should work. YT-1300's should be plentiful, and all will be right in the galaxy.

I really don't like to slice-spam, since I'm 99% of the time in-character and it just seems wrong. ^_^ So a lot of the time, I just hang around in Theed where I can be seen, I do pretty well this way.


So I'm standing in Theed in line to get buffs....


Random_d00d_01 tells you: "can u slice my pike for free i need go to teh death wathc bunker?"


Ummm..... I charge a flat 2k per slice. Slicing IV.


Me: "You can't afford a 2k slice, but you can afford the gear to go to the DW bunker?"


Silence. More silence. The lack of tells would be deafening, if I'd wanted to hear back from him. I get my buffs. 10 minutes later, I'm in Coronet, waiting on a shuttle to Dantooine.


d00d: "so wen can u slice it?"


O_o Ooooooookay... Eventually I get it through to him that I waited 10 minutes for his reponse, and wasn't even on Naboo anymore.


Granted, the worst that can happen is that someone says no, but... the things people will try to get for free are pretty strange sometimes.

that pike story reminds me of somehting that happened to me the other day, i was in the Coronet starport on my way to my guild city on dant when i get a tell :


Him : Hi can you do a fellow rebel a favor?


Me: well why do you need?


Him : well i just spent all my money on 2 stun composite suits and only have 8.7 k left, can you slice them for 8k?

Yeah. I've been gettig some nice 27% speed slices as Slicing IV, but damage, noooo sir. I've gotten only one good damage slice, a 28%, on a CDEF. (I've been trying to build, slice, and powerup a CDEF to over 100 damage, I've gotten to 98 so far.)

In the tradition of speaking a language other then basic to keep out noobs (I use Dosh) I came up with idea to make my
time more fun. Every time I get a tell from someone seeking slicing or smuggler training I send back a simplemacro I have:


How did you get this commlink frequency? You aren't with Impirial Investigations are you? I'm a perfectly law-abiding citizen!


Anyone who just resends their tell gets ignored... others are a pleasure to deal with... one girl even asked me if the shop we met in was a safe place for the type of business we were doing.


Figured this would be the place to post this.

I'm a Droid Engineer, I quite often have to explain to people how to name there droids, for this I have a canned E mail I send them.


Step 1: Click on the radial menu and choose a command, a ( ? )should appear over the droids head/ dome.


Step 2: type the name that you want the droid to have followed by the command like : Bob Attack.


Step 3: if Step 2 worked you should see a (! )over the droids head/dome, repeat this four times with four different commands. After the fourth time the name should appear above the droid.



The response I get most often is: I don't want to name my droid Bob.
