Yesterday evening i was slicing near Coronet Starport (FarStar) at the bank. A dude arrives and asking for slice. As we agreed on the price i got a message indicating that dude wishes to trade with me. Ok. Dude put a weapon in the trade window. When i'm giving it back sliced dudeis giving me the agreed sum. I turned to the new customer when a message show that previous dude wishes to trade once more. Trade window up, dude placing another wep in there. Ok. Giving it back, getting the sum as last time. Saying good bye and turning to my next cuxtomer. Believe it or not, dude trying to trade for a third time (for the second time i tought dude simply forgot to give me the weapon). Another weapon appears. Now i explaind to dude that he can hand over all the weapons waiting for a slice in one step so we don't have to trade all weapons separately ---> two weapon in the trade window now(lol, i have sparedan extraround). A shame that the second weapon was already sliced... However i have to add that dude payed for my services correctly and never said anything bad even my slices were not that uber

It's really a shame... it also happened yesterday. Customer asking me if i'm doing slices atm. We met, agreed, starting to trade. Holy.... Kryated Scout Blaster well over 200dam without any slice on it... I asked him if he is sure that i'm the right person for him to hate in his remaining time of his life...As he insisted i made the slice... 15% damage slice as a master smuggler. Shame really.

I have never really had any difficult customers but I did have something funny happen to me the other day in Coronet.


I am at a random part of the city omw back from I think the cantina when I get the /tell


Twilek: Hello, could you slice something for me?


Me: Sure, I charge 5k a slice, free if under 20 percent


Twilek: Sounds good. Where are you


(Now at this point I wasn't near any building that I thought shed know so I just used the /target playername command which showed she was about 200m away I believe. I burst ran over to her.


Me: /wave


Twilek:


Me: Hiya


Twilek:


Me:So what would you liked sliced???


Twilek:


I wait around for about2 more minutes and all the sudden she runs by me. A minute later I get a tellfrom her again.


Twilek: I'm sorry I must have missed it. Where did you say you were???


Me: Uhh I was right in front of you a minute ago till you ran off.


Twilek:/blush


She ran back and traded over a backpack full of comp. 9 pieces all decently sliced the lowest was like 23 percent. 45k exchanged and a happy customer.

My first bad customer (also my first /addignore and /denyservice.... its a lil long):


Im in a solo group on dant, slicing a few weapons for a friend of mine. My master title is up for all to see. I get a tell from a random person to slice their gear and as i wasnt on a mission i say "sure". Shortly after i see someone in groupchat ask if i can slice a set of armour for them. I say fine meet me at MoP because im already on another slicing job.


I get to MoP and slice the random persons gear, apologising for the long wait (as i was out a fair way). They seemed pretty happy about the slice and go on their merry way. Now i see in groupchat, "No you come to me". I wasnt too grouchy at this (i was in a pretty good mood at the time) and so i say, "sure send us your coords". I get em an its not to far off.


Now however is when i start to get worried. I say in groupchat that my prices for armour are 5k per piece unless its a bulk roder of 18 items or more. I simply get back "Thats expensive. Do it for 100cr/%". Im about to jump in and basically say no, my prices are final, I need to live somehow (also i should be charging him extra as im going to him), however my friend who i sliced for earlier (hes in teh same group) jumps in and basically says, "Hilarious. You'll pay 10k for a temporary bonus but not 5k for a permament bonus? Smuggler's have to live too ya know?" I felt really good about this.


The new customer says, "fine, but if you are near me when i complete my mission and get any of my reward i wont pay you a cent." So i simply respond, "Then ill keep your armour, until you do pay." Then comes a line about hell report me to a csr and i basically say theyll laugh at you ebcause if you refuse to pay me for my work i can keep your damn armour. In the end he shuts up about it and says fine.


I get out there and hes still finishing his mission. By now im feeling like an idiot because i could have made about 200k from missions in the time id spent chasing this guy down. Again he warns me about the mission reward so i decide ill go kill a voritor i saw about 200m away. Another ten minutes pass without word from him and i say in groupchat "Are you done yet?" and he responds "Yeah i told you to come over already".


Im starting to get a little annoyed as ive been running around like an idiot for this guy. I send a tell off to my friend saying "Why do i ahve the feeling this will be later posted on the chuckle for a smug thread?"


I get there and the dantooine lag kicks in causing our trades to cancel every 5 seconds, with him screaming at me "STOP CANCELING YOU IDIOT!" Im suprised im still wanting to do this, i figured ive done all this crap i may as well get it over and done with. He trades me 4 pieces.... He told me it was a full suit, the fact i did all taht crap for 4 pieces of armour lit a little fuse in me. I start slicing calling out the results, (note ill refer to him as m for this)


Me: 20% effec on boots


M: <silence>


I get half way through slicing the chest when...


M: yea what are its stats now?


Me: (getting really p o'd with this guy now) well obviously 20% better than they were before


M: WOW COOL! Theyd be 83% then!


Me: (having checked the boots an only seing 73%) no, 73%


M: but i thought you said it was a 20% bonus


Me: (wanting to kill him now) it is, it takes 20% off the original total and adds that


M: Dont give me all teh big words just give me the improvements


Me: sorry tis just MOST people understand what a 20% effec slice on boots means...


I continue to rattle off the results, a ncie 30% enc slice was the ebst he got, and i couldnt help but smile when i gave him a 17% effec slice on the gloves. I trade them back and quickly drive away. Him going on about what **edit** slices and that. Later in groupchat i was joking with my friend when this idiot pipes in again, saying some really dirty things (i mean sexual stuff that i should ahve reported him for...) , i respond with an /addignore.


A few minutes pass and suddenly i get a tell from my friend saying this guy is bitching about the fact i ruined his armour and made it worse than before. I quickly un-ignore him and jump abck into groupchat and basically say to the guy "Youre lucky i even came out there and didnt charge you 10k per piece. Should be a little nicer to your smuggler". Then i put him abck on ignore, while watching some very nice people defend me, saying that i didnt wreck his armour, hes an idiot, etc....



Worst customer ever, complete jerk and holds the title of the only peron to have ever been eprmamently added to both my ignore and denyservice lists...


Now i cahrge 10k per item, no bulk discounts if i have to come out to the customer...

Not strictly a smuggler story, but worth sharing-



I just had my first PvP engagement since a couple months after release. My time has been spent mostly as a CH/Smuggler who is too cheap to buy armor or get buffed, so i don't PvP much. I'm working up TK now, still to cheap to armor or buff, but i thought i had a chance with this one.



I'm standing in the coronet bank why i spy an overt imperial. A glance at her shows that she was both unarmored and unbuffed. An examine gave her only two badges as master scout and master marksman, so i figure she's a low-level bounty hunter. The scatter pistol she's holding confirms my suspicions. I figure that she's not a powergamer as she hasn't been grinding professions or even location badges, and may be beatable considering she was neither armored nor buffed. I decide that my mid-level teras kasi skills probably have a good chance against any level bounty hunter (Sad but true).



I run to the cantina to declare, then quickly head back towards the bank. I see her dot on my radar, and she doesn't notice me until I'm on top of her. I knock her down and unarmedhit2 her quickly until incap, taking very little damage myself. I give her a /salute and deathblow. A great feeling, maybe i should PvP more often. But then-



Guy who was standing next to her: Oops.


Me: Oh... you weren't talking to her, were you?


Guy: Well actually, i was just inviting her to a wedding.



This followed by apologies by me, and fortunately him being cool with it and amused by it, and no hate tells from her. One moment of glory shattered .

Was told I should post this here....so here it is.





This guy starts asking around if you pay for slices, so I responded that yes, people have to pay for slices. Convo goes like this


Him: Okay, can you slice something for me.


Me: Sure, I charge 4k per slice.


Him: Okay, that's fine.



I'm somewhat in a hurry. He hands me a locked container. I'm wearing my Slicer title so it's obvious I don't need container XP. Normally when someone hands me a locked container, I explain to them it's probably best to find a novice smuggler who needs the XP, and to ask them again if they want me to open it for 4k. However, I'm in a hurry, so I go ahead and unlock it for him (after stating it will cost him 4k).


Here comes the suprise.



I hand it back


Me: That'll be 4k.


Him: Where's my money.


Me: Umm, you're supposed to tip me 4k.


Him: Since when do people pay for slices. You owe me money


Me: Look dude, if you arn't going to pay for your slice, you're not getting your item back.


NOTE: It only had a CED pistol in it


Him: You @&#%* thief. Give me my money!

Me: Dude. You asked me if people pay for slices, I told you yes, then I told you that I charge 4k to slice your items, and you agreed. You don't pay up, you don't get the item back. Simple as that.


Him: You ripped me off! I'm reporting you. You'll be banned tomorrow.


Me: The only person I see getting ripped is me. You made me waste 3 slicing components plus time. Not to mention, all trades are final.


He then starts following me everywhere shouting "THIEF THIEF HE STOLE MY STUFF"


We're finally at the starport and people start asking what's up.


Me: /shout Okay everyone, JUST to get this settled. Do people have to pay for slices?


Someone: yes


Him: Ha, that's one person. People paying for slices is stupid. The slicer always pays to slice the items.



shortly after, people start laughing.



Me: Look. People have to pay for slices. The slicer does NOT pay for slicing. YOU pay to get your items sliced.


Him: you're full of @$(&%, no one pays for slicing. I get all the money from slicing. I'm reporting you, you're gonna be banned.


Me: Whatever.


Used the ticket and never saw him again.




Goodness freakin sakes....I know you get bad customers....but my first one was completely insane.




Some might think he was asking if I paid to slice containers.


1. He never mentioned anything about containers

2. I told him twice that I charge 4k to slice an item

3. He agreed

4. The doctor that was near us said he ripped one of his friends off the other day

so...

5. Obvious Ripper or Noob



All of this over a CDEF pistol......




BEST part is....this guy was in a full set of composite with a huge rifle or flamethrow of some sort. He told me that he couldn't afford 4k....

i wouldn't have appologized. she was stupid for standing around overt and unbuffed, unarmored, and in a conversation with somebody. i would have killed her and laughed about it even more when i found out why it was so easy. call me a griefer if you want, but if you don't want to randomly die don't be a jedi, don't be in a public area while TEFed, and never go overt.



if you are jedi and you complain, i have one question for you. how many remember permadeth, kenetic damage lightsabers, and lightsaber TEFs?

So I made Slicing 4 today. I only lack my pistol exp before I am a master.



Anyway I was soo excited getting slicing 4 so I decided to slice my own armor and a couple of weapons to get teh ball roling.


My first choice my PSG, So I take my time making sure I didn't click teh wrong wire and did everything perfect....


33% woohooo then I notice... Encumbrance.. my first slice as a 4th tier Smuggler and the slicing gods decided to make a joke of it...After that it went pretty well and I pulled off a 33% encumbrance slice on my composite helm so it wasn't all bad.
