it makes sense in the capacity that much of the player base has been asking for kashyyyk for a long long time now. and they aregoing to put it in.

Let's do an experiment: Get a large portion of the player base to whine fora playable Mooninite species. I want to see that. By all intents and purposes and past history, I'll be rockin' in a 2-D hot pink avatar flippin' the bird to all the Jedi around Tarquinas

lol, lets try it

Getting it is easy... filling it with illegal substances and sending it across the border is not.

check it, the mooninites are smugglers.

Yes, and it sadly has nowhere NEAR the raw potential that this game has.

But as a whole? You might try it. I kind of like it, although working for the Merovingian doesn't give me the same swell of pride that being a Smuggler in SWG does.

I am Jack's Smirking Revenge. I am Jack's Ignored Profession.
Theed was a bustling commerce city...people hawked their wares, danced, laughed, dueled, and had a rollicking good time. Cantinas packed with Entertainers of every race, shape and size...along with scoundrels, Stormtroopers, and drunks. People grouped up and stuck together in the wilderness, and you ALWAYS took a Scout or a Ranger with you. We lived our own Star Wars saga. We created our own personas, our own histories, and it all blended into this wonderful, magical experience that I will always remember...

That magic is gone now, but I'd pay 50 bucks a month to have it back.

Editor's Note: The author of the above post has quit giving SOE her money. She suggests you do the same, because this game will never be what you want it to be.

If only we could actually BE smugglers instead of player NPCS

So readily through this more, I've been thinking and...

I Like the direction this seems to be taking Galaxies.

The way it has been painted, it will be more focused on a broad, interesting theme (interactions between wookiees, slaves, and imps) than on killing giant spiders and sh*t. Actual plot. Interactions within a complex up environment. If it's half as good as my vivid imagination is making it , it could foreshadow something like, say, oh, I don't know, Nar Shadaa! A place that wouldn't have any "wild lands" for hunting things.

Anyone else kind of get this feeling? Or am I being overly optimistic?

Ladies and gentlemen of the supposed playerbase, I have one final thing I want you to consider: this is Chewbacca. Chewbacca is a Wookiee from the planet Kashyyyk, but Chewbacca lives on the planet Endor. Now, think about that. That does not make sense!

Why would a Wookiee -- an eight foot tall Wookiee -- want to live on Endor with a bunch of two foot tall Ewoks? That does not make sense!

But more importantly, you have to ask yourself: what does that have to do with this game?Nothing. Ladies and gentlemen, it has nothing to do with this game! It does not make sense!

Look at me, I'm aDeveloperclaimging to fix a broken game, and I'm talkin' about Chewbacca. Does that make sense? Ladies and gentlemen, I am not making any sense. None of this makes sense.

I didn't get that feeling at all Max, I get the feeling it's another planet without fully utilizing the ones we have, a handful more missions that we'll soon be done with and this slave thing leaves me rather cold I must say. I mean it looks like we can fight the NPC slavertraders or fight the ones fighting the slavetraders but can we own slaves? I bet not. It's kind of like half-done content...again.

How does it tie in with JTL and the GCW? Or is this yet another seperate part of the game like JTL is that, IMO, is only a distraction from SWG.

I sure as hell hope that players can't own slaves.

I am left bewildered by the Jedi fighter. Its 25 years old at this point? plus from what I saw in ep II its bad. Either that or obi Wan is a bad pilot. hmm maybe jedi should get a disadvantge in space.

No. It looks like more of the same kind of missions we have. More critters. More NPC's. More little quest things. Which are all well and good, but not a new system. I think they missed the boat on us on this one. I think they could have shut us up finally. Nope. A (as in singular) new planet. Psh. I'd have paid fifty bucks EASY for a good Criminal Expansion with new factions, new systems, new rules and Nal Hutta/ NarShadda.

And cybernetics are gonna be a whole passel of "whoopity-doo." And you may quote me on that.

1)Everyone gets them. It turns into Cyberpunk online as we all become cyborgs. Becomes mandatory for PvP.

2) Everyone gets them. We all go cyborg for about a month, get bored and then no one has them, except a few RP'ers.

Think you're dead on about the cyborg parts. If they add any kind of combat bonus, and that IGN article said they will, I think we're about to see the Revenge of the Robots.

Ternque; "I sure as hell hope that players can't own slaves."

So...what would be the motivation for fighting FOR the slavetraders if you couldn't own slaves?

An expansion based on wookies as slaves but not letting players own slaves seems a bit lame...I don't feel the motivation to fight for or against NPCs owning slaves.

Eh, it's just a little in character motivation. Money or your character's disdain of the immorality of the system. Or money for you to FEEL disdain for the immorality of the system. The no slaves thing is basically not an RP or mechanics call, just a sort of marketing/morality call. Personally I'm for it, but that's just me. I don't think it would really increase my experience to see PC's owning slaves.
