Fair enough but couldn't you and your friends play a different game that you all enjoyed more, made by a company that treats its customer base better, and in a game that functions fully from day 1?

I agree, I never got into UO or EQ for the same reason, that's why my first MMO was Earth and Beyond, then Eve Online. I did Beta on SWG and even waited a year.

Ah. Well then, you're screwed.
Far as I can see, you've got Anarchy Online, Eve Online, umm..........I think that's it.

I wish you luck with this as it no longer really matters to me as I am one of the many who have now canceled my account and I have no intentions of returning this time.. Sony has done with SWG what it has done with other games and ruined it beyond repair.

Its not the devs fault. Its marketing and management. Ive seen a guild of 40 go to a guild of 3. Fix us, fix the game, you are killing it SOE. I know it takes time, I know it takes effort. If you don't have the resources to do it, hire more.

Very professional letter sir.
I think the reason that nothing has been done is that they don't know what to do with it the profession.
So perhaps some feasible ideas of something playable within the context of SWG could help although a complete revamp/rewrite of the profession seems highly unlikely.
Ask yourselves this question: What do you want to do in SWG as a smuggler?
- However -
I do believe it would be nice to at least go through some of the top issues and fix them.

the fact is that they didn't know what to do with us, and so, they did ask us some community vision docs, and we did these docs, then they asked them to be more condensed, then they asked them to be more pin; then they asked them to have some blue added, then they asked them to be glowy...
Well they got thousands of pages of documents, each one perfectly clear, shaped, put in a way of compliance with the actual game mechanics... they got thousands of threads to look into, they got discussions with our successive and meritant correspondants. They can't really hide themselves with this argument anymore. They also perfectly know that asking us to do some documentation again will only result ni a copy/paste from former documents, because these documents are what have been brought by months of concertation among the community (well that may not be the present one because most contributors have quit dispissed, but that's plainly constructive and evolutive).
On a side note you could also notice that even if they are somewhat into trouble waters with the revamp, they don't fix bugs neither, and that's not a matter of vision of the profession, it's a matter of pure programmation (or deprogrammation) to have things work the way they should. What vision of the smuggler profession do they need to put back the crate auto-pulling, what vision of the profession do they need to give us a way to trade faction points with an imput box, what vision of the profession do they need to add some text in our skill boxes? The only vision of the profession they have shown by not considering these issues is that they don't want to show that the profession exists.
PS sorry if there are lots of speeling to correct, i'm drunk
